Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day is today, August 28th. It's a day set aside to honor and remember our cherished pets who have passed away. EMERGENCY!!! (Updates on Ace posted in the thread below...thank you all!!)

Meet Ace. GoldHeart Golden Retriever Rescue prayer warriors. Today GoldHeart got an emergency call about a 14 month old male golden that is in trouble. He was surrendered to the vets office in Pasadena MD. There is an obstruction of some kind. Right now his kidney values are very high, dehydrated, depressed. They cannot do surgery right now or his kidneys could fail. GoldHeart has taken Ace in and he is at the ER in Annapolis. So far it has cost GH about $3,000 and if he needs surgery it will be a lot more. If you can help Ace with any donation please do so.

When you look at your dog, knowing you'd sacrifice 10 years of your life just so they could live 10 more...and also knowing they'd trade you even-up for a chicken nugget. 😆💛

DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU SHOULDN'T SPRAY COLD WATER ON AN OVERHEATED DOG OR PUT A WET TOWEL ON ITS BACK?

HERE'S WHAT YOU SHOULD DO...

Never make the mistake of pouring cold water on an overheated dog or putting a cold, wet towel on their back. You will see an adverse effect.

Due to rapid cold, the veins contract and due to their elevated temperatures, the proteins in the blood collide, causing the blood to become thick.

When this happens, blood stops entering the heart and organs fail one by one due to lack of oxygen. This could result in a slow and painful death.

First give them lukewarm water to drink, then cool their feet and chest/belly with a wet towel.
Then put the dog in the shade on a wet towel!!!

And of course, seek veterinary care as soon as possible.

PLEASE SHARE! This is a summer heat reminder that your pup's paws can very easily be burned with this excessive heat. Please exercise them wisely, wait until dark, or in the early morning if you're walking. Keep their water filled, too. Safety first! 💛
