I am thrilled to have this guest here. Dallas has spent two years, yes, two years in a high kill shelter. He was recently sprung for a kind heart who wants to give him a forever home and forever ❤️ him. Decompression from the Shelter world is so incredibly important for some of these dogs. Dallas, being one of them got lucky and his rescue let him come here. I will work some magic and help him be more comfortable in the world outside of the jail cell. This is me picking him up and everyone wishing him good luck🍀 in his next chapter❣️ took me 15 mins to gain his trust to leash up and follow but he did. 😁

Poppy and I took advantage of the beautiful weather and hit the trail around the ranch. I met with a really nice lady today and her foster dog Rocky. They truly enjoy each other but she had one complaint, walking him. Her friends all told her he was too big for her and that wouldn't be possible. I told her we could build engagement and work on leash pressure. She liked that idea and was so happy to meet for a private session. When we were done with our extended lesson, she asked if we could go on another walk, lol. With practice, these two may just end up a foster failure 🙏

Mocha and her Owner needed desperate help. Mocha is an adolescent Pitbull mix and her housemate Max is a senior American Bulldog. Anytime Mocha was around Max she would submissively paw or rudely jump on Max, owners were concerned for Max as he physically isn't able to sustain these interactions and being a large protective breed were concerned he may over correct his exuberant housemate. After a few private sessions a few days of Day Camp for Mocha and this is what we have. Poppy is an exuberant young dog who is learning about impulse control. Todays hike was a great way to test some of the skills she has learned around the ranch. Poppy took some time out from her Board n Train to have surgery on her tail. Sunny is here for a holiday visit. We were thrilled when her family contacted us to board her and brother Ripley. Sunny and Ripley were both adopted from Crazy K9's Rescue and this was Sunny's first visit since finding her forever 🏡.

Starting leash manners with sweet Poppy. She is here to learn all the things! This pretty girl was saved off the streets by a very special lady. Once home and settled she realized this pup is a bit exuberant has lots of love to give but has no manners and knows nothing about being a good companion. Wheeler made his first friend at Crazy K9's Ranch . I'm so proud of this boy for opening up. Sky is an amazingly tolerant friend, Wheelers own Therapy dog who will help him drop his walls down even further. A little about Wheeler. I was told he was a red zone dog when I picked him up in Oregon. Owner surrendered him due to a bite and resource guarded towards the new puppy in the family. I transported him down, he was fearful of the van, fearful of the crate (complete zoned out hiding in the corner, not trying to break out). I've yet to see anything remotely red zone. What I see is a broken dog, a dog who probably spent most of his life outside, under socialized and totally defeated. He freezes when faced with any sort of conflict. He runs when a leash comes out but is fine once on. He still has so much to learn about not living in fear but having a new furry friend is helping him so much already. #boardntrain #behaviormodification #staffordshirebullterrier #labradorretriever #buildthemup #crazyk9sranch
