Sunfox Somalis is a breeder of purebred Somali cats, and sometimes Abyssinian cats.

We breed to CFA (Cat Fancier's Association) and TICA (The International Cat Association) breed standards. Sunfox Somalis is a home based cattery specializing in purebred Somali cats and kittens raised "underfoot". We frequently also have Abyssinian kittens and adults available to approved homes. We focus on health and temperament foremost, along with conformation to the breed standard of the Cat F

ancier's Association (CFA). We do not breed for the pet trade - instead, we breed for the preservation and improvement of the breed, and look for loving pet homes for those kittens not needed in breeding programs and adults who have retired from showing and breeding. With this in mind, we rarely assign a particular kitten to a prospective pet home until the kittens are a few months old and can be evaluated. Sunfox Somalis and Abyssinians are well known for their sweet temperaments, both in and out of the show ring. Unlike other breeders, we care enough about our cats and the reputation of the breed as a whole, so that after a few trial shows, if a cat hates showing we don't subject them to shows anymore. It's very stressful for a cat to be shown, and showing a cat who hates being there can be detrimental to health and personality. On the other hand, many Sunfox Somalis absolutely love the attention they receive at cat shows. We are frequently in attendance at shows in the Southern California area, and less often in Northern California and Arizona.
