Happy New Year from Penelope and Blackie! Penelope is one of our youngest and newest residents and Blackie is one of our oldest residents! 🐾

Together, with your help, we accomplished so much this year! We made a difference in so many lives and we could not have done it without the love and support from you, our village. Thank you, thank you, thank you! 🙏

This will be the last cat trapped under FFoM’s care this year! 🎉 We are not sure if this kitty is a male or female but the feeder has been trying to trap him since around Halloween. She told me she was just about to give up when she trapped him at 5am! Now there’s a lesson to NEVER GIVE UP! What a relief! 🙏

Thankfully the vet office (thank you Priscilla ❤️) can get him in on Monday! So for the next week this kitty will live in a trap in feeder’s bathroom all set up so kitty has food and water and can go potty. Not sure how feral this cat is so we cannot risk letting him out of the trap.

The good news is that the feeder might try to keep the kitty if he’s not truly feral and if her dog allows it. If not she has a foster home in place. I love responsible caregivers. ❤️

Please help us continue to help cats like this one. Whether a male or a female this cat will have a much better life and so many unwanted births will be prevented because this one person cared to do something when she saw him on her game camera. In this post I am highlighting TIMMY! This past summer was the year of Timmy! He was diagnosed with FIP in mid May and what followed was 84 days of shots of the very expensive drug GS-441524. Not legal in the US at the time (the pill version now is) it was quite the experience. The shots were painful as the medicine burns so Timmy became extremely afraid of me and he stopped eating. 84 days seem like a short time until I was actually living it. It was an all consuming 84 days of Timmy…BUT…thanks to your loving support, kind words and donations Timmy is with us and doing fabulous. He is no longer fearful or me and he is 12 lbs! He is going to be a big boy! ❤️

In this post I am highlighting Carson (photo taken yesterday)! Carson came to us because he supposedly needed an expensive dental surgery. Over the years he has gone to vet for various issues and every time we have his mouth checked I am told he doesn’t need dental surgery. I think he was surrended because he isn’t very friendly. Not feral but not real trusting either. Carson went to vet this year for an ear infection. After two weeks of antibiotics and twice a day ointment Carson is living his best life. And believe it or not he is getting friendly as he ages! 🎉❤️

In this post I am highlighting Honey (photo taken yesterday)! Honey is an older feral cat who we took in from an animal control officer along with her young kittens many years ago. Honey has outlived her two kittens but she has a mass deep down in her ear. Every few months I must trap her and get her to the vet where they treat her while she is under anesthesia. Then she comes home to continue living a happy life. Once she starts crying and not eating I know it’s time for her to go back to the vet. How long we will be able to do this I don’t know but I do know that because of your love and support Honey is alive and living her best life. ❤️

It is with a heavy heart that I must let you all know we lost Mowgli today. 💔 It just doesn’t seem real. Mowgli was the most incredible cat I have ever known. He was pure love. He was fearless and thrived on endless attention.

So many of you knew Mowgli. He use to be a part of every event we ever did…bake sales, craft shows, fairs, cat shows, pet expos, our yard sale…wherever FFoM was, Mowgli was there. Mowgli showed in the household category at cat shows and won a few best in shows. Mowgli was such a ham! ❤️

In the past few years he would visit a nursing home and had a few residents who absolutely adored him. Mowgli was willing to be anywhere just so he had love. Mowgli was only 8 years old but he lived quite the life.

After bloodwork today the vet determined Mowgli had some type of cancer. He was a very sick boy and his mommas and I decided that it was time to let him go.

From being found in a barn as a wee baby with his back legs twisted together to living the life of a three-legged celebrity traveling all over making people smile and loving every bit of it, Mowgli had a fabulous life. Way too short but a wonderful life…and for that I will forever be thankful. 🙏

I love you Mowgli…you taught me to be a more tolerant human…thank you! RIP Mowgli…i will never forget you. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
