Thank you to our partners in rescue and we couldn’t have done it without you!!

3-4 months

This beautiful girl is one of six puppies that were found in Mexico.

A really nice man decided that he wanted to save them from a bad home, and decided to foster them.

Without having much to offer, he gave all that he could. He ended up reaching out to one of our volunteers and asked for help.

We are working really hard on getting them to their final destination-FOREVER HOME!

Please apply to foster/adopt at www.dmdr.org

Miss Lilly!!!! She’s a sweet girl who is about 2 years old. She was rescued by our friend Yana in Mexicali, Mexico and given a second chance at love. Please consider fostering her and giving her the life that she deserves. She’s sweet, loyal, and will bring a lot of love into your life. Lilly is about 20 pounds and will not get any bigger than that, which means she would make the perfect apartment dog.

My name is Lia because I have a big white L on my back. I will most likely grow up to be a large dog. My parents were not spayed/neutered on time and that is how my siblings and I came to be and are searching for a new wonderful home!

I currently live indoors, and I know what floor doggie pads are for. I love playing with toys that make squeaky noises and enjoy playing fetch. I’m sure you’d understand that given my young age I am really playful and curious.

I am very smart, so I like to cry a little so people take me in their arms.”

I love to jump just like my mom, as you can tell by my pictures I love my mom very much. I enjoy running and wrestling with my siblings Scar and Lia. I’m really smart too!

This is why people suck!!!! Fix your damn dogs so this won’t happen. Some disgusting humans dumped a plastic container filled with puppies that are only a few days old in El Centro, CA. The worst part is they most likely won’t learn from this mistake and still won’t fix their female and male dog. This could have been prevented, but now these babies need to nursed for 8 weeks and then found homes. That means that other dogs who have been waiting for homes at dog pounds will once again be passed over because of some cute puppies who were not asked to be born. The vicious cycle continues and more dogs are born and killed daily. If you can help foster bottle babies then please call Dee (760) 554-6305.

Our Story

Good Day to all the animal lovers! Please note that this is a VOLUNTEER PAGE. What this means is that WE DO NOT work for the city of Calexico nor are we in any shape or form Veterinarians or Animal Control. We are simply a group of people who love animals and would like to provide them better opportunities. We volunteer on Saturday 9-11 a.m. on our time off in hopes of getting them a forever home where they are appreciated and simply loved. Please visit us in Calexico, California if you lost your pet, would like to adopt, or simply volunteer your time to make a difference in a pet's life. ALL ADOPTIONS ARE DONE THRU DEE’S RESCUE located at 941 West Evan Hewes Highway in El Centro, CA 92243. Their contact info is 760-554-6305 and yes, they are on Facebook as well. If you are interested in adopting, you woul need to go to Dee’s Rescue and fill out paperwork and let them know that you are interested in a dog that is at the Calexico Animal Shelter. Once a deposit is made and the dog is vaccinated and spay/neutered then you can pick up your dog.

For additional information on the Calexico Animal Shelter, please contact us at the office (760) 768-1861 or cell phone (442) 200-7366 or call the Police Department and ask Dispactch to contact Animal Control at (760) 768-2140. Thank You. Here are the directions to the shelter: South on Hwy 111 West (right) on Anza Road Pass the "Twin City Feed" and the "New River," keep going straight As Anza begins to go uphill, look to your right side for an opening to a very small street (street does not have a name) and you will find "Calexico Animal Shelter" on a white board, make that right Follow that road for less than 1/4 mile and you will see on your left the same white sign, PARK INSIDE and walk in-YOU ARE HERE *If you pass "Rosas Plane Foods" then you went too far, go back and start over
