2025 ~ July 10th

Dear RiverDog Family and Friends:

Notice of Closure for Friday, July 11th.

Due to the extreme heat called for tomorrow-Sunday, please be advised there is NO Friday DayCamp tomorrow.

I have spoken with our Friday regulars, but wanted others to know also, just in case they wanted to brave the heat...please don't. The high overnight lows of 75°, with a high of 107° are not optimal conditions for our pups' health -- nor ours🙏🏻😘☮

Please ensure you and your pups are not overexerting and stick to the shade and nice cool water!

2025 - July 8th [taken over 4th Holiday]

Three pups, two a bonded pair, the other a beautiful Senior needed to visit a new place as theirs were unavailable: 1)because of injury, and 2) on vacation, so luckily they called RiverDog some time back and we were able to give them temporary accommodations🙏🏻🤗☮

Such lovely pups they all were, they fit in with our regulars and we had a packed house, let me tell you, but they all handled the new space beautifully 😉🤗☮

2025 - July 6th

Memories from one (1) year ago, or so says my photo app. But, looks about right✌🏻

Twas a nice, clean head of irrigation. Brodie and Lylah-Lou got to experience their first joint RiverDog Irrigation Extravaganza 🥰❤ It was great fun.

Also appearing, Miss Maggie; Sir Duke, Mr Manners; all having a gay ole time❤🤸🏻‍♀️👏🏻😉💝

Hello and good day RiverDog Friends and Family!

I just received a cancelation for over the 4th of July, so if someone needs to get away, we have a couple spaces for your pups!

Hope everyone is enjoying the temperate weather we've been experiencing! Morning lows nice and cool, and just 90's in afternoon 😎 lovely 😍

2025 - May 02 [taken]

Little Miss Lylah-Lou is very discerning who she plays with -- it has to be boys, and they must have their balls, lololol. She's spayed, of course, and she's about 8yrs old, but she loves boysboysboys😲😄😆.

Most of the time she comes to visit with me and Papa Pat, occasional potties, but couch time for sure. But, whenever we have some boys that are ALL boy, her little love heart goes pitter-pat! Lylah-Lou! Omgosh such a little coquette 🤣❤

Her big, little brother Brodie comes to play with all his DayCamp buddies...boy/girl, he doesn't care, let's just PLAY! I don't know where Brodie was for this video...hmmmm, oh yes I do! He was jealous and wouldn't let his sissy play...I sent him inside to visit Papa Pat, as Lylah-Lou plays so seldom🙏🏻❤

Hey gang, resharing as only 70 saw this!

Before you rush out to get vaccinated b4 a boarding visit, please remember our "14-21 day no admittance" policy after administration of certain vaccinations. Thank you.

Also, again, I do highly recommend having your pup's blood titered to check for immunity...that way you only vaccinate for what is *needed* rather than just administering vaccinations, which may be unnecessary.

Dear RiverDog Family Members:

As we approach the very busy summer boarding season, I wanted to remind you all of RiverDog's vaccination policy. Please don't vaccinate your pups within 21 days PRIOR to their boarding visit.

As you know, I HIGHLY recommend having your pup's blood titered to check for immunity prior to administration of vaccinations. Though Shasta County does not yet accept titered results for Rabies, the City of Anderson DOES.

I am including a link to Animal Wellness Magazine for your information, and here is an excerpt on titering:

"Additionally, over-vaccination should be avoided. Annual boosters are not necessary in most cases, since core vaccines have a much longer duration of immunity than previously thought. Titer testing can determine whether or not a dog or cat is still protected against infectious diseases, so that boosters can be given only when absolutely necessary."

Here's the link to the article. Remember, vaccinations don't just quit on a certain day...please check with me prior to vaccinating your pups to ensure you don't run into RiverDog's "14-21 day NO admittance policy".

Sharing another gem Kathy sent to me. Just OMGOSH, I am wondering how many were maimed, lost or killed before they took this off the market. Definitely thinking outside the box...but with no real thought about the poor pups😱

THE DOG SACK was an invention that first appeared in the June 1935 issue of Popular Mechanics.

“When you take your dog along for a ride, but prefer not having it inside the car, it can ride safely and comfortably in this sack, which is carried on the running board. The bottom of the sack is clamped to the running board and the top is fastened to the lower part of an open window with hooks, covered with small rub- ber tubing to prevent marring the car.”
