Hard to pick only 80 shots from this weekends event. My dog Ross was able to pull out a new PR of 21-9. Not bad for a 8.5yo lab. Ultimate Air Dogs Farmington Founders Festival Farmington Fido Fest

Our tradition of a Jan 1 hunt continued today. This is a strong start to the year. Tango has admittedly been slow to learn ruffed grouse and while she has pointed them, I have not taken a ruff over her yet. Today she had a solo run with Doug and I and she pointed a pair of birds in a small fir stand. Doug( )was able to connect with one. An honor to be able to share that moment with a good friend. I hope this is a sign of how the upcoming year will play out.

Blue Grouse. A bird that most people will never see, but they are an awesome bird that live in the mountains and spend their days on the hillsides in brushy cover. Some are dumb enough to sit around and let you get close, but most take flight well before you can get close.
