Welllppp…we took a way longer than intended social media break, but I HAD to come back today to wish my sweet sissy a very happy adoptaversary! I can’t believe it was a year ago that C and I drove down to NJ to scoop Wren up from the KARMA gotcha relay ride. And here she is exactly one year apart.

Raising Awareness for Special Needs Rescued Animals

Hi, my name is Rocky. When I was a little puppy, someone tied me up in the back of a pick-up truck. It was scary just driving around town, but then they slammed on the brakes, and I went flying out of the truck. I hurt my leg pretty badly and couldn't walk on it. The people didn't want to pay to have my leg fixed, but they felt bad and for some strange reason they thought I needed a vacation. They said something about sending me to Asia, but instead of going to the travel agent we went to the vet's office.

The vet said that I should stay in California and got in contact with Bay Area Rescue Keeshonden (BARK) who arranged to have my bum leg amputated. While I was recovering, I got to live with a really nice family. Cathy and Mike are the best! Even though I felt wonky from my surgery, I could tell how much they cared for me. And their dog Coco played with me as soon as I was up to it. They have another dog, too - a Keeshond! But I could tell that Bradley was just not that into me - even as friends (although I must admit I was a little humpy back then, so maybe he got the wrong idea).

When I was just about healed up, I got to go to another house that also had a Keeshond who was just not that into me. What gives, Buddy Guy and Bradley? Again, the humpy business, so maybe it was partially my fault. I really liked this new house, so I decided to stay. I heard that was something called a "foster fail," but more like a success for me!

The new place has two hissing claw machines that love it when I chase them. I heard them referred to as "cats." I have since discovered that they are called Scooter and Little Girl. I am told that I should be especially nice to Scooter as he has a deformed front leg due to a bad accident when he was a kitten. I don't know why they think I am not being nice.
