Noble Woof Dog Training classes distinguish themselves through a comprehensive approach to dog training, prioritizing the cultivation of a robust, nurturing bond between dogs and their guardians.

Here are some unique aspects:

* Positive Reinforcement Techniques: We prioritize positive reinforcement methods, which encourage healthy behavior by rewarding dogs for desirable actions rather than punishing them for undesirable ones. This approach not only promotes better learning but also strengthens the bond between you and your dog.
* Experienced Trainers: Our trainers are not only certified and skilled but also deeply compassionate and committed to the well-being of both dogs and their guardians. We regularly update our training with the latest techniques and behavioral science developments.
* Small Class Sizes: We limit the number of participants in each class, ensuring that every dog and guardian pair receives personalized attention. This approach helps address specific concerns and adjust techniques to suit each dog’s individual learning style.
* Community Building: Classes are designed not just for training but also for community building, allowing dog owners to connect with one another, share experiences, and support each other’s training efforts. This social aspect enhances the training experience and fosters a supportive network.
* Holistic Approach: We take into account the overall well-being of the dogs, integrating aspects like emotional health, physical exercise, and cognitive challenges into their training programs. This holistic approach ensures well-rounded development for your dog.
* Flexible Training Options: Understanding that different dogs and owners have different needs, Noble Woof offers a range of classes including puppy training, basic skills, advanced skills, and specialty classes like Tricks or Recall.

Due to popular demand we just released some Puppy 101 classes, all of which start April 28th. Tag a puppy pawrent who could benefit! We also have some availability in Brie Blakeman’s Tricks and Recall classes!

IT’S BITE PREVENTION WEEK!

Our #1 TIP for bite prevention is to celebrate the growl!

Yep! You heard that right! Don’t punish a growl! Celebrate it!

Growling = kind communication. Punishing the growl just teaches dogs to suppress important warning signals which will end up making it harder to implement behavior change modalities that aim at addressing the root cause of the behavior, (often fear or pain). Dogs who have been punished for growling are at high risk for escalating straight to an uninhibited bite. People who report a bite “that occurred out of nowhere” might have been interacting with a dog who was punished for showing earlier warning signs such as growling.

🎉🐾 Celebrating a Milestone 🐾🎉

On April 2nd, our Canine Education Center right here in SE Montavilla turned ONE! 🥳🐶

Noble Woof has been thriving since 2018, but this past year has been monumental as we established our very first brick and mortar facility. From offering in-home private training to expanding our repertoire to include puppy socials, a variety of group classes, day training, and puppy play school, our journey has been nothing short of a wild ride. 🎢

As our code of conduct states “At Noble Woof we are committed to upholding the highest standards of ethics and professionalism in all aspects of our operations. This serves as a guiding framework 🖼️ for our staff, ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for both our team members and clients. We prioritize the welfare of dogs 🐕 and humans 🧠alike, fostering positive ➕relationships built on trust, compassion, and integrity.”

We believe actions speak louder than words. That’s why we embarked on an extensive year-end review, inviting feedback from our dedicated staff to ensure we’re walking the walk, both internally and externally. And with the help of ChatGPT, we’ve distilled this feedback into actionable insights. 📊🤖 Yay AI! 🫶

A heartfelt thank you to every member of our staff, every loyal client, and every friend and family member who has supported us along the way. Your belief in us fuels our passion, and we couldn’t have done it without you. 💖

Special shoutouts to , .monaco.torelli, , and countless others who have been with us every step of the journey! Let’s continue making pawsitive strides together! 🐾

New blog post POSTED, on why your dog will never be “trained” and how looking at training your dog from the lens of Relational Psychology can help!

We believe the most transformative dog training incorporates a profound exploration of the relationship between humans and their canine companions. At Noble Woof Dog Training, we view training through the lens of relational psychology, recognizing that the bond between a dog and their guardian deeply informs their behavior far more than a dog’s ability to follow “commands” does.

🐾✨ Hey Noble friends! 🌟🐕 Today, let’s dive into a topic close to our hearts:

Keeping our furry friends UNDER THRESHOLD during reactivity training. 🚦🐶💖

Why is it crucial, you ask? Well, imagine being in a room where everything is just a tad too loud, a little too bright, and way too overwhelming. That’s how our pups feel when they’re over their threshold. It’s stressful, it’s scary, and it’s definitely not conducive to learning. 🌪️💡🔊

Here at Noble Woof Dog Training, we believe in training sessions that feel like a walk in the park, not a sprint through a thunderstorm. Keeping training sessions below that stress threshold ensures that our dogs are in a state of mind where they can LEARN, GROW, and most importantly, THRIVE. 🌿🧠✨

By working within their comfort zone, we can gradually introduce them to their triggers in a controlled manner. This way, they learn to associate these triggers with positive outcomes rather than fear or anxiety. It’s like turning a scary movie into a comedy - bit by bit. 🎥😱➡️😂

Remember, every dog’s threshold is different. Our goal is to recognize these limits and work within them, ensuring each training session is a stepping stone towards a more confident, calm, and happy pup. 🎓🐾❤️

Stay patient, stay positive, and keep those tails wagging! Together, we’re building a world where every walk is a joy, and every new encounter is a friend not yet met. 🌎❤️🐕

Slide into our DMs to chat more about reactivity training or to share your own experiences. We’re all ears (just like our four-legged friends)! 💌👂🐶

Rescue Dog Two Week Quarantine

The Two-Week Shutdown rule is a great way to ensure you don’t overwhelm and stress out your new pal. Give them two weeks of virtually no action to decompress. Make it the most boring (to you) two weeks of your dog’s life. The Two-Week Shutdown rule is a great way to ensure you don’t overwhelm and stress out your new pal. Give them two weeks of virtually no action to decompress. Make it the most boring (to you) two weeks of your dog’s life.

Other things you can do to help:

1. Allow the dog to initiate any touch or interactions. If they don’t, give them space. In place of touch. toss them treats!

2. Don’t go on walks. Many rescues are already incredibly overstimulated and walks will only amp them up. At most, try long line sniff walks in a quiet natural area.

3. Establish a daily routine that they can count on. Keep it low key and simple. Think feeding routine, nap routine, potty routine, enrichment routine and so on.

4. Feed through enrichment toys such as food dispensing chews like the Kong, or food dispensing puzzle toys. This is a great way to introduce them to alone time in a crate (door open) or play pen.

5. Less training, more play. If your dog enjoys play, spend more time bonding with them through play rather than trying to dive right into teaching behaviors you want them to know. Training is a lot of pressure for a dog who needs to decompress.

6. Establish an alone zone. Give your dog a space to be that is away from the action. A playpen, with a crate inside (door open) is a good option. Feed them all things great inside this zone to make it a positive place to be.

7. Capture behaviors you like. Instead of formal training sessions, capture behaviors your dog is already doing that you love. Use a dog training clicker or a verbal “yes” followed by a treat to tell them that you like what they did.

Congratulations on your adoption!

This is a webinar about dog behavior, artificial intelligence, and the very human element that bridges the two.

Forbes reported that in 2022, 44.5% of U.S. households own dogs, up 6.1% over what it was in 2016.

This holiday season, almost all of us are either shopping for our own pets or seeking out what will help pet parents in our lives.
Looking forward to 2024 and beyond, what do individuals, researchers, and brands need to know about the trajectory of pet parenthood?

Brie Blakeman, CBCC-KA, CPDT-KA, a certified professional canine behavior consultant and dog trainer joins Luminoso’s Kim Larson to discuss trends and changes among pet parents to look out for in 2024, including specific products alongside modern science-backed training tips social media algorithms are already putting in front of pet parents everywhere.

The holidays can be a really difficult time for dogs. If they don’t have a lot of experience with people coming into their home, it’s not uncommon to see reactive behaviors due to over-excitement, fear, instincts to protect, conflict, or a combination. This live training demo should help you understand how to help your over-excited greeters and stranger-danger dogs. There will be plenty of time to ask questions too. Please leave your dogs at home for this event!

December 11th at 6pm. FREE. Registration required.

Stopping to smell the flowers is a very important part of our day training program. Did you know that dogs noses are 40x’s stronger than our own with 35% of their brain dedicated to processing scent. Our brain only uses about 5% to process smells! 🤯 They also have up to 300 million olfactory receptors in comparison to our sparse six million. Needless to say, giving these dogs time to smell to their heart’s content is ESSENTIAL to their well being.
