Check out Riggs and Sophie during a Gunbreaking clinic for Cowboy Mounted Shooting! We were fortunate enough to have started Riggs (we knew him as Bam) undersaddle and have him for the first 3 years of life. We knew he would be a special horse, and love watching him and Sophie grow in their partnership! Keep up the good work Sophie Deany!

A couple weekends ago the KGPH team went to an Indiana Ranch Horse Association show! Our first if many this year!

Lots of things to highlight!

Sparked By A Dream placed under both judges in the Ranch Riding with Kindra Gingerich.
He also had some really stellar rides with his owner, and youth rider, Jane Meyer! This horse had never seen cows before, but absolutely loved the Ranch Boxing class! Lots of learning took place and we are excited to see what is in store for this pair!

Quixotes Lil Rooster and Taylor Biddle secured multiple top 10 finishes under both judges for various events including Ranch Reining, Ranch Boxing, and Ranch Riding!
Kindra Gingerich took over the reins and also placed well within the top 10 under both judges schooling in the Ranch Reining!

SR Continental Pep and Madison Calhoun had a very successful weekend as well! Multiple top 10 finishes in classes such as Ranch Riding, and Ranch Boxing! Peppy had never seen cows before, but conquered her fear and placed in the boxing! She was also CHAMPION in the youth 3 & up halter mares!

Inferno 66 was 2015 NRHA Futurity Reserve Champion, 2017 AQHA World Show Jr. Reining Res. Champion, NRHA and NRBC Open Derby Finalist and top 5 multiple times, and more! Nominated Sire & Dam, NRBC, and 100X. Inferno’s Dam Snip O Gun is in the NRHA Hall Of Fame, and his Sire Gunnatrashya was just inducted into the NRHA Hall of Fame in 2023.

His dam Im Smart Not Blonde is an NRHA Money earner herself.

His Grandsire Smart Chic Olena is in the AQHA Hall Of Fame (2018), in the NRHA Hall Of Fame, and the NRCHA Hall Of Fame. He won over 110k in the NCHA, World Champion in the AQHA Senior reining in 1992, and is the only horse to win both the AQHA Worlds in both cutting and reining. His NRHA PE exceeds 13 million dollars. He has sired over 11 open world champions!

His Grand dam Im Not Blonde has NRHA PE $330k, produced 17 AQHA performers, and 16 RGP money earners. One of her offspring that has been big in the industry right now is Xtra Wimpys Catalyst or “Zorro”. He has over 61k in earnings himself and has begun his breeding career. One of her most noted offspring is Gunna Whoa. He has over 47k in NRHA earnings and was chosen by 2023 futurity winner and 2 million dollar rider Brian Bell to be his mount in the 2024 American Performance Horseman!
Cruise is a ¾ brother to Gunna Whoa!

If all of that isn’t impressive enough, Cruise has been such an easy horse to start undersaddle. He will be very non pro friendly. Nothing shakes him up! His non-pro owner has ridden him already! However, he is also going to be very talented, and could absolutely be open caliber. He has had around 45 rides and is already working into his face, off your leg, and started in a turnaround.

The KG Performance Horses team had a great show at the InRHA Spring Fling Reining earlier this month.

🤩 Dream Gun piloted by Kindra Gingerich got in the pen for the first time at this show, and so much progress was made! His owner, Andrea Weber also put him through a couple patterns and marked some good scores! This horse is really proving to be a show horse!

🥇 KR Surfs Up piloted by Kenzie Moore had a very successful week! Continuously marking 71.5 and won the Rookie 1 and placed top 3 in multiple other classes. They brought home more than enough to cover their entries and then some! Congratulations Kenzie! This team is going to be one to be reckoned with!

🏅 Sparked By A Dream piloted by Kindra Gingerich, owned by Jennifer and Jane Meyer, also had a good weekend! He earned some money and had some successful trips through the pen.

We look forward to showing these horses again! Next stop MRHA Delta Classic shortly followed by the IRHA Ranch Show!

Ash’s Sire Big Chex To Cash was NRHA Futurity Reserve Champion in 2005 and NRHA Derby Reserve Champion in 2007 and has earned over $220,000 in the NRHA.

Her Dam Fashionably Rowdy qualified for the Novice horse Open Affiliate Championships! And was shown by both open and non pro riders in both reining and ranch horse events.

Her grand sire Rowdy Yankee has LE of over 96k, and Pe over 1 million dollars! He was an NRHA non pro futurity champion, and NRBC non pro Derby champion!

Her great grandsire Smart Chic Olena is in the AQHA Hall Of Fame (2018), in the NRHA Hall Of Fame, and the NRCHA Hall Of Fame. Ash knows all the reining maneuvers and has not been over shown. She is a very sweet mare and built very correct. Show this mare, then breed her and raise some great babies. She is a great choice for breeding simply because you can outcross with her to breed into the top studs in the reining, or cross her into the cow-horse! Ash would make a phenomenal Ranch horse. She is a gorgeous mover, and has the finesse of a reiner on top of that.

Select your trainers carefully. Observe how the horses interact with them.

Watch how the most decorated horse in the barn is treated. Watch how the least quality horse in the barn is treated.

Look at the workouts, attitudes and relationships between the trainer and their strongest riders. Look at the workouts, attitudes & relationship between the trainer and their most limited riders.

How do they treat their team members? Does their staff like them? Are the other clients happy? What dreams is your trainer chasing?

Choose a trainer that lives the values that matter to you. Choose wisely, and trust the process.

Not every horse will be a grand champion. Not every lesson horse will be a walk in the park. Not every rider will win the roses. Not every ride will be easy. Not every prospect will work out. The challenges ahead are inevitable.

Spend your time and money to be with a team that you believe in, a team that has your best interest at heart and is honest with you as they help you and/or your horse stride towards greatness- whatever it is you define as such.

Select your trainers carefully- and give it your best shot. Greatness isn’t common; but it certainly doesn’t occur unless the trainers, clients and horses are all giving it their best shot.

What better way to wrap up the first half of the season than a team Christmas party! Magic, Mera, and Rooster didn't seem too thrilled about the idea, but they were such troopers! The girls had a great time and we are looking forward to what 2024 has to offer!

Second YEDA show in the books for KG Equestrian team!

We had some absolutely stellar rides last weekend!
These girls are really putting in the time to get better and it is showing!

Shoutout to Avabelle McAmis! She tied for Reserve High Point Rider on Saturday, and placed first both days in her Ranch Riding class.

Proud of each of these girls, and so excited to see what is coming for them in 2024!
Congratulations girls!

We also had alot of fun at the end of the day Saturday and all went and rode the mechanical bull 😂
