I’ve decided on a theme for Layla x Hudson’s Litter - Meet the Board Game Crew.

I felt it was appropriate with the cold weather and snow we’ve gotten lately. I don’t know about you but I’d rather stay inside where the cold doesn’t hurt my face, so what better way to spend it than playing classic board games?!?

I am going to be in the market to add another male or 2 to our program and so I’d like to put out some feelers for families that may be interested in participating in guardian homes for our program. I’m currently on the search for at least one boy in the 1-3 year old range and maybe 1 puppy, some of the decision to this will be based on interest from potential and approved guardian homes and also what is available in the market. I will be sourcing these puppies/dogs from other reputable breeders that I know and trust.

The guardian program enables us to expand our program and continuously enhance our breed without compromising our dogs’ happiness and their need for love and attention. While we strive to keep all our dogs with us, we acknowledge that they would thrive with more individual attention than we can provide them, especially if we have five or more dogs living in our home, along with litters of puppies. I strongly oppose the idea of dogs permanently residing in commercial kennel-style settings. Therefore, this program ensures that all our dogs have their own cozy spot on the couch and receive the one-on-one attention they truly deserve.

As a guardian home, you are the permanent home for one of our breeding dogs while they are in our program. Once they are retired, full ownership transfers to the guardian family and they get to keep the dog forever. Of course, if there is ever a point in the dog/puppies life the guardian cannot keep them, they come back to us.

As a guardian home, you provide a permanent home for one of our breeding dogs during their time in our program. Upon retirement, full ownership of the dog transfers to the guardian family, who keep the dog forever. However, if, at any point during the dog’s or puppies’ life, the guardian is unable to care for them, the dog is returned to us.

DOES IT COST TO BECOME A GUARDIAN AND WHAT COSTS ARE INVOLVED:
-You will receive a high quality dog that has been hand selected by us to remain in our program at no cost!
-We are responsible for ALL breeding related costs. The guardian home is only responsible for everyday needs, such as food, treats and general veterinary care.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME A GUARDIAN HOME?
‼️Reside within 1 hour driving distance of our home in Roberts, Wi (30 miles east of St Paul/Minneapolis, MN)‼️
-Be willing to teach basic commands such as sit, stay, lay-down, and leave it as well as how to walk politely on a leash
-Keep the dog as an indoor/outdoor family pet, while providing adequate exercise and mental stimulation
-Be able to bring the dog to and from the breeder within a few days notice for breeding and training
-Must be able to communicate, cooperate, and coordinate with the breeder effectively
-Contact the breeder in the event of any serious illness or accident
-No other intact dogs of the opposite gender in the home

BENEFITS TO BEING A GUARDIAN HOME
-You are getting a well bred, quality dog at no cost
-The dog will be health tested at the breeder’s expense
-Male will need to visit for approximately 1 week for each breeding
-Once retired, full rights and ownership are transferred to you

We consider all of our puppy/dog owners to be part of our family, but when you become a guardian, you become an integral part of our team.

Did you know that puppies lack the reflexes to relieve themselves? Mothers have to lick them to stimulate them, and they usually clean up after them.

This behavior may seem strange, but it has roots in the dog’s evolutionary history. Wild dogs would consume their puppies’ f***s, the placenta, and even the umbilical cord during birth.

There are two primary reasons behind this behavior. Firstly, mothers want to minimize the scent of their puppies to prevent attracting other dogs or predators who might prey on them. Secondly, they want to keep their den clean, as they dislike lying down in a mess while feeding their puppies.

Layla x Hudson puppies have arrived and are doing really well! We’ll be deciding on a theme for the litter in the coming days.

4 boys and 4 girls:
1 yellow/champagne male
1 yellow/champagne female
1 charcoal male
1 charcoal female
1 black male
2 black females
1 silver male

I will be contacting those families on my waitlist in the next few days to determine what we have but we should have a few pups still available from this pairing.

I’m delivering Layla & Hudson puppies! I’ll put photos and info in the comments as I’m able. Wish us luck!
