I don't know if anybody still follows lieutenant Dan's page or not, or even remembers him. I have been gone for the past 3 to 4 years because I was taking care of my mother. She was very sick for a long time and which required around-the-clock care. I had no time for Facebook anymore, so I've only been on a few times until the last 2 days. I have missed all of the wonderful people who were Lieutenant Dan's friends, and therefore became my friends, too.
Several followers had asked me if I would ever adopt another cat. Well, my vet didn't leave it up to me! She called me and said she had a favor to ask of me... The favor was to take in a feral cat/kitten that was born with a deformed spine. Another of her clients had brought it in and asked her to take it because they didn't know what to do except turn it in to Animal control, (who would definitely uthanize her). Not being able to run, jump, or defend herself, she could not go back to her feral colony.
Result: I now have another special needs cat!
Those of you who have followed us for a long time, also may remember that I had a blind cat named Marti. You'll be happy to know that she is still with me, and even though she has hepatitis, and gets injections 3x-a-week and pills every day, she is a real trooper!! She has a great yen for life, and she doesn't let anything get her down. She must have learned that from Lt. Dan! ❤
I named her Katie, after my vet!, but I should have named her Mae West, because she has the same sashaying swing in the hips! 😆 She is also quite a lovely and snuggle when the mood strikes her! (Truly amazing because she was feral and did not come into a house until she was beyond what is considered a trainable age. The vet thinks she was 6 or 7 months old--considered too old to be domesticated).
