Save the Contra Costa County Shelter Dogs Developed to help network the lost, stray, and surrendered dogs at the Contra Costa County shelters. Working towards a No Kill Contra Costa County!

Shelters located in Martinez and Pinole CA There were two animal shelters accociated with Contra Costa Animal Sevices. One is located in Martinez, and the other is in Pinole. Pinole has been CLOSED and now the West County is not served. Many people are not aware that CCAS is high kill. In fact, they killed more than 4,000 dogs and cats in 2013. Together we will change the

current standards and procedures and the outdated status quo at Contra Costa Animal Services. The dogs and cats at CCAS deserve a loving home and not to be killed because of a complacent management that refuses to consider viable alternatives to killing healthy, adoptable companion animals. Our shelter should be expected to "shelter" animals and not kill them. Please adopt from your local shelter before shopping for a puppy from a breeder. Always spay and neuter your pets!
