Louis Feral Cat Outreach is a 501c3 organization (tax-exempt nonprofit). We are a TNR resource group. We do not have a facility and we do not intake cats or have an adoption/foster program. We loan traps to people to do TNR or to get cats and kittens into no kill rescue groups. Our page is a resource for trappers, caretakers/feeders, and cat lovers dedicated to Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) in

St. Louis, MO and surrounding communities. We believe that TNR is the best and most effective approach to cat overpopulation.

Here at STLFCO we believe that anyone can learn how to TNR! Some of our volunteers have kids and those kids are the next generation to help the community cats.

One of our volunteers has a son who wants to raise some funds to help our cause and the cats live a happy, healthier life.
This Sunday (8/25) Luke would like to do a water bucket challenge. Here’s how it will work: for each $5 donated through PayPal he will allow his siblings and mom to pour a bucket of water on him. Any donations made between noon and 2 pm will gain a bucket of water to be dumped!

These 2 cuties were trapped and fixed over the weekend. Estimated to be about 4 months old and both female.

Sadly, female community cats can become pregnant at 5 to 6 months old. So these kitties would have still been babies themselves while having babies of their own. And 2 cats could have easily become 10.

Spaying is the responsible thing to do! TNR and trapping on your own can be daunting for a first timer, but it’s not that hard. We can walk you through the steps and make sure you are set up for success.

Catch the kittens before they have kittens of their own. Improve their health and well-being, while also controlling the general overpopulation of homeless cats. So many reasons to do it and not a single reason not to.

We are at it again! Here at Thomas Dunn Learning Center with Operation SPOT making a lot of Spay/Neuter happen for community cats. We had a very generous donor step up and sponsor this clinic- THANK YOU!!!

Our costs are $55 per cat and approx 40 will get fixed today! We even have a few extra. Some small kittens went into traps so we will find rescue for those. Then…. there will be another clinic later this month. Who can be a hero and sponsor a room full of surgeries for August 18th? Or do you have an employer that appreciates animal welfare and would support the fact that we keep the population of community cats in check? Maybe right in their own backyard.

We do monthly (or more than monthly) clinics from March to November. It drains our funds in a big way but we have to keep going! Preventing kittens from suffering outdoors, helping prevent the spread of disease and halting pet overpopulation as much as we can.

The price tag for August 18th will be $2200.00

Do you know a hero? Could you be one?

Would you like to see an amazing Glow Up on this hot and steamy afternoon? We thought so..

These are just 2 of the 74 cats from a huge colony in Venice, IL. Yep, that’s correct - Seventy Four. When cats are fed but not fixed, females will have multiple litters per year and even though not all kittens will survive outdoors, the population explosion is guaranteed.

All bias aside, we have some of the absolute best volunteers in the game. 2 of our volunteers knew the caretaker was overwhelmed and not able to do much on her own. So they stepped in and took care of business, in a major way!!! All the cats fixed in this huge undertaking will be so much happier and healthier thanks to a TNR surgery plus vaccines for each and every one.

If you feed cats, fix them! If you are physically able to trap the cats yourself, we will teach you! The amount of requests this time of year is overwhelming. As an all volunteer nonprofit, please know we are doing the best we can.

St. Louis Feral Cat outreach is looking for a sponsor for our next TNR Clinic. In collaboration with the wonderful team at Opspot, we have the opportunity to fix 40 feral community cats

Our funds are not in great shape right now. Feral Cat Outreach’s cost per cat is $55, so we are looking for a business, an individual or a group of individuals to sponsor the $2,200.00 needed to pay for the next clinic on July 28th.

The cats will be happier and healthier. Will not contribute to the horrific overpopulation problems we’re facing right now. Unfortunately cats are very prolific, females reach sexual maturity at 4-5 months of age and have an average of 2-3 litters per year. If half of the cats in the room July 28th are females, that’s a lot of suffering prevented for kittens that would have been born to those females.

Here is the link to donate-

Or send a private message to discuss details of becoming our hero Sponsor for July! Checks written out to St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach can also be mailed to -

A nice Update -
The StLFCO kitty was picked up from the vet minus his tail and a few other body parts 😉
Invoice below and our total for this guy was

$586

And we have another appt scheduled for tomorrow for a kitty we are worried may have a broken leg or pelvis. Your donations help us deal with these unexpected and urgent medical situations! Thank you to all who have donated! The kitties appreciate you and so do we.

We just never know what random cat might show up and need our help. This time it was a beautiful guy who has gotten himself into a bit of trouble. Part of his tail is missing.

A dedicated volunteer spent a lot of free time stalking his every move and was able to trap him. Hooray! 🎉

Now he will go to the vet this week. We don’t know where he came from or how he ended up in this predicament but we are dedicated to get him some medical care. He will also be neutered, if he’s not fixed already. Then provide a comfortable place for him to rest and recover.

TNR clinics and regularly scheduled appts is something our nonprofit can budget for. Urgent medical situations are another story. If our village can contribute to help toward his treatment, it ensures we have the funds to keep moving forward.
Thank you!! 🐈❤️

In a small town about an hour south of STL you will find one of the largest colonies you will ever encounter. A colony of around 100+ cats with pregnant females and lots of kittens. It is kitten season after all, the time of year where cats are breeding left and right. Thanks to an amazing vet clinic as well as a local rescue, we will begin the efforts of trapping as many of these cats as we possibly can and begin the process of TNR. Our goal is to stop the ever growing population of this colony and place as many friendly cats and kittens with rescue groups when possible.

Donations will go towards the costs of getting this colony fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and ear tipped. We appreciate your kindness and support to helping cats of all communities.

Who doesn't love a happy ending? We're so happy to share this story from one of our volunteers:

Because of TNR, a missing cat was reunited with his family! 😹💜😻
After trapping last night, I decided to check in with another TNR site nearby that I hadn’t been to in a few months. This site has regular caretakers and a restaurant that feeds. A newbie cat shows up whining & crying, and I recognized this cat from a Facebook Lost & Found post I had just seen earlier in the day. He was missing for two weeks and was 2.3 miles away from home. A magical happy ending for Biscuit!

We want to offer a huge thank you to anyone who supported St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach for 2024.

Contributions go directly to everything needed to TNR community cats in our region. Yesterday was a good example of where the money goes. Thomas Dunn Learning Center allowed us to set up shop and bring in 37 cats to be spayed/neutered, microchipped, eartipped and vaccinated. Then they go back to their colony where they can all live in harmony and not produce vulnerable kittens born out in the elements.

Well almost all get returned. Sometimes we trap sweet kitties who’ve lost their home. Or yesterday, small kittens who could tame and then they get to go to rescue and live indoors. Thank you Goode Life Rescue for taking the young kittens!

37 cats fixed means A LOT LESS kittens born this Summer. And this is just one of the many clinics we will participate in, along with other opportunities to get cats fixed. Our costs vary but $50 per cat is a solid average of what we pay to fix each one. This is why your financial support means so much to us. It allows us to keep going. To keep trapping and better the lives of all the community cats that live among us.

Thank you!!!! 🐈‍⬛🎉🥰

We have a big goal this year. At 2:30 we’re just about half way there.

Babies having babies.
It’s a sad reality we encounter all the time in feral colonies. Let’s make sure we have the funds to fix as many young ones this Summer as we possibly can. Join us!

Give Stl Day is upon us! Today is one of the most important days of the year for our small but mighty, 100% Volunteer based non-profit. We’ve been slowly and steadily increasing the number of cats fixed every year. And we don’t want to slow down any time soon.

Trap/Neuter/Return is the only effective and humane solution to stop the breeding cycle in feral cat colonies.

We are here to answer the calls of the community. In St. Louis City, throughout Missouri and in the Metro East. A much needed resource. If you feed a colony of feral cats, if you notice them in your neighborhood, or (surprise!) find a litter of kittens under your own front porch- St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach is here to help. And now we need the support of the community. We want to keep going strong in 2024! To continue providing spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping and vaccinations for our feral friends.

Small donations add up! We believe that the ferals and community cats in our area deserve the happiest, healthiest life possible. Please show your support if you do too. TNR is reducing pet overpopulation on the front lines.

Help us to reach our Give Stl Day goal of $4000!!

We thank you!!! And truly couldn’t do it without you.

Spring is in the air. It’s only just begun but a lot of us are already feeling exhausted. Community cats will reproduce faster than you could ever imagine. Our volunteers are boots on the ground, trapping cats for caretakers physically unable to do it themselves. Spending hours and hours at the colony location, transporting cats in our own personal vehicles. And the supply of poor souls needing TNR and vaccinations is never ending. This is where you come in and can be a huge assistance to our little group. Tomorrow is Give Stl Day! If you support TNR and want to actively participate to reduce the number of kittens born outdoors, please join us and donate to St. Louis Feral Cat Outreach.

Give Stl Day!!!! Just one week away on 5/9/2024

TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) is the FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE in preventing unwanted litters of kittens born outdoors. A donation to St.Louis Feral Cat Outreach on Give Stl Day will allow us to continue TNR efforts in our community for feral/community cats. Let’s prevent as much suffering as possible

We are in the season where trappers will run the risk of kittens birthed in there traps

It turns from a TNR situation to fostering the mom and kittens until weaned and finding rescue for kittens and TNR mom

Your donations help us help trappers navigating these scenarios

Trappers are on the front lines of this crisis

We want them to know they are NOT alone THEY are ROCKSTARS

04/15/2024

Working with OpSpot last week, we were able to spay/neuter over 80 cats in total at our monthly TNR clinic. Of those cats:
- approximately half were male
- 3 female kittens that were too tiny for surgery got networked into rescue, and
- 34 were female. Of those 34 females, 31 were in heat, pregnant, or postpartum.

That represents 91% of the unfixed females in our community, and it is only April! 😲
Thanks to your donations, we were able to help these cats into healthier, happier lives. 🎉 But we still need your help to keep it going strong! Every dollar counts—help us make a difference for these furry friends. Click the link to donate! 🐱💖
