Our last rendition of DOG DAYS OF SUMMER campaign is a slight repeat...as only half of MAYLA's litter of 10 have been adopted, and we still need forever homes for MALYA herself and 5 of her puppies!

MAYLA is an approximately 8 year old Basset Hound Mix from the south and as the pups are growing have distinct "houndie" features too. The puppies that are still available include: AVRI (male), CORO (male), NELLIE (female), REINA (female), and TERRA (female).

Mama and the puppies are being fostered up north now and are READY to go to their new homes! Would you be interested adopting one of this family of 10? June & Jasper are a bonded pair of 9 year old Bassadors who have been with us since SEPTEMBER when their owner had to surrender them due to unforeseen circumstances. Although they are very comfy and happy in their amazing foster home, they would like to have a new home of their own. We are in the DOG DAYS OF SUMMER and have some mamas and puppies available for adoption!

Check out SADIE and her litter of 6 pups! SADIE is a 5 year old purebred Basset Hound from the south and our best guess at the mix of the puppies is Cocker Spaniel. The puppies include: EMBER (female), MIRACLE (female), LOLA (female), SARGE (male), SHADOW (female), and STORM (male). SADIE and SHADOW are adoption pending, but the rest of this family are all looking for their forever homes and will be ready for adoption in mid-August.

FEEL GOOD FRIDAY! Silly Petunia got her head stuck in the cat door at her foster home! Luckily we were able to remove her head safely (without having to call the fire department)!

How amazing were the hounds at the ‘Bark at the Parx’ Basset Hound Racing fundraiser on June 8th?? We are so incredibly grateful to everyone that made our 4th Bark at the Parx a smashing success! We want to give an enormous THANK YOU to Parx Racing for donating the space of their beautiful picnic grove to accommodate our attendees and vendors, for allowing us exclusive access to the track for the hounds to race, for getting the competitors fabulous racing bibs and most importantly for matching all of the registration donations! And thank you to all the Parx staff that helped us throughout the day.

UPDATE! We are switching things up slightly for 'Bark at the Parx' Basset Hound Racing. We had a decrease in interest from our Basset Hound Mix group and were only at 12 spots filled (with a total of 24 needed). And we had an increase in demand from our Purebred group with many dogs added to the waitlist to race. Therefore, we decided to make the Basset Hound Mix group a SINGLE race (similar to how we do the Seniors Only race) and we ADDED ANOTHER PUREBRED race!

Again, we had a bunch of Purebreds already on the waitlist and they snagged those tickets...but we have 3 PUREBRED TICKETS AVAILABLE right now! Help us reach our fundraising goal and buy those tickets for your PUREBRED BASSET HOUNDS and see if they have what it takes to be a champion racer! Her owner surrendered RUBY to us so we could get her the necessary emergency surgery she required for IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) to help her walk again. This is RUBY a little over a week post-surgery. She is recovering very well with a medical foster. Ruby's surgery was well over $6,000...which is a tremendous cost.
