Zoey is not with us, we are sharing her in the hopes of helping her find a good placement. Van Dyck has recently taken Zoey in and is making sure she has all her necessary vetting (including a spay if it is determined she has not yet been spayed). She is a young JRT/terrier mix likely 1 -1.5 years old. She gets along well with the other small dog in the home and kids who know how to treat animals.

Please contact Ronda 405-892-9114 regarding rehoming fee and additional information.

FOSTERS FOUND! Thank you Teresa and Megg!

We are asking again for foster homes for Trina and Trevor! They do NOT need to go together!

Trina and Trevor are Rat Terriers and they were abandoned after the breeder went out of business. They are both very social and loving.

Trina is approximately 3-years old and 14 lbs. She is a little shy at first but very good-natured. Will need assistance with leash training and not sure about house-training. Seems good with other dogs.

Trevor is approximately 2 years old and 20 lbs. He is very friendly and active. Is okay on a leash but will need more practice. Don't know if house-trained but when I picked him up to get neutered this morning, he peed for 2 minutes straight when I got him outside.

They are both getting fixed today and it would make our month if they could go directly to foster homes and not back to wall kennel boarding at the vet clinic.

The rescue covers any medical and can provide a crate, toys, and/or food.

If you can foster either Trina or Trevor, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/foster-application to apply or e-mail Michelle at [email protected] for any questions

Update- after meeting with Jax’s family it was decided that they want to take more time to work with Jax and his more senior 4-legged companion, Sam before making the final decision to rehome him. It’s clear the issue isn’t Jax. His great with other dogs. We tested him with big and small dogs here and he was AMAZING!

His mom and dad are wonderful people. This is/would not be an easy decision. This is why they have chosen to make some arrangements in the home, work on training and look for other options other than rehoming at this time. I LOVE THIS! They are willing to put in the hard work, use more tools available. I know them personally, they will not make a choice lightly.

Should they not be able to make this work and keep both dogs safe we will repost Jax for adoption.

Jax is looking for a new home. More news to come. Stay tuned!

Trip has been adopted by one of our previous adopters and long time friends. They adopted Lola from us 5 years ago. We couldn’t have chosen a better outcome for Trip. He now gets to have 3 four legged siblings and I know he’s going to love that so much. We know he will be safe and loved forever. Thank you Julie Toering Schrey and Jerry. We loved seeing you!

This lady is amazing! She’s a pilot and works with rescues to fly dogs to their new safe places. She is a blessing to so many dogs and people. Go Julie!

Adopted- We were contacted by Southern Paws Rescue, Inc. in Asher, OK about this female Jack. Wilma needs out of her deplorable situation, living on a chain where she feels she must dig holes and bury her kibble under the leaves for later.

Wilma is probably 5 -7 yrs old (what I consider the sweet spot of Jack ages). And they have so many more years ahead of them!!. She has had no vetting, but Southern Paws and I have agreed to work together on getting her spayed and brought up to date. Wilma has also not been socialized with other dogs, she would have to be the only animal in the home. The only exception to this would be if a Jack experienced foster or adopter were willing to work on socializing her with their other dogs. Absolutely NO cats.

Wilma sure would appreciate the opportunity to have a kind, loving and secure home for the first time in her life.

If you are interested in knowing more about Wilma, please text Michelle Dusing at 405.481.9854.

Do not post your request direct to this post, please.

There is no terrible story behind this rehoming, just the family understanding the need of the Jack and putting it ahead of their love for him. I agree with this decision and want to assist them in doing just that.

Thanks everyone!

Our Story

Dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming Oklahoma Jacks, as well as educating future and current owners about the care and needs of this enthusiastic and clever breed. We pull Jacks from shelters across the state, and whenever possible we aim to assist owners considering rehoming their dog(s). We offer education/training and other supportive options to allow the dog(s) to stay in the home. If this is determined not to be an option, we work with the owner toward a short-term solution until a space at the rescue or qualified foster can be found as we move toward a more permanent remedy (such as a new adoptive home) can be found.
