🍕There's a cute pizza ready for pick-up at the City of Denton Animal Shelter! 🍕

Archie is a 5-year-old and 49.4 lbs Terrier who has been in the shelter since November 22, 2024. With a calm demeanor and a preference for a quiet environment, Archie is an ideal companion for individuals with limited mobility. He is housebroken and leash-trained, making it easy to manage on daily walks. Archie is highly food-motivated, which can be helpful for training and bonding activities.

While Archie thrives in human company, he does not get along well with other dogs, he would do best in a single-pet household. Archie's gentle nature and easygoing attitude make him a wonderful addition to the right home.

Zoey is not with us, we are sharing her in the hopes of helping her find a good placement. Van Dyck has recently taken Zoey in and is making sure she has all her necessary vetting (including a spay if it is determined she has not yet been spayed). She is a young JRT/terrier mix likely 1 -1.5 years old. She gets along well with the other small dog in the home and kids who know how to treat animals.

Please contact Ronda ….regarding rehoming fee and additional information.

Sharing for Forever Yours Dog Rescue. Please contact them if you are interested in adopting or fostering one of both of the adorable Rat Terriers.

FOSTERS FOUND! Thank you Teresa and Megg!

We are asking again for foster homes for Trina and Trevor! They do NOT need to go together!

Trina and Trevor are Rat Terriers and they were abandoned after the breeder went out of business. They are both very social and loving.

Trina is approximately 3-years old and 14 lbs. She is a little shy at first but very good-natured. Will need assistance with leash training and not sure about house-training. Seems good with other dogs.

Trevor is approximately 2 years old and 20 lbs. He is very friendly and active. Is okay on a leash but will need more practice. Don't know if house-trained but when I picked him up to get neutered this morning, he peed for 2 minutes straight when I got him outside.

They are both getting fixed today and it would make our month if they could go directly to foster homes and not back to wall kennel boarding at the vet clinic.

The rescue covers any medical and can provide a crate, toys, and/or food.

If you can foster either Trina or Trevor, go to www.foreveryoursokc.org/foster-application to apply or e-mail Michelle at [email protected] for any questions

Update- after meeting with Jax’s family it was decided that they want to take more time to work with Jax and his more senior 4-legged companion, Sam before making the final decision to rehome him. It’s clear the issue isn’t Jax. His great with other dogs. We tested him with big and small dogs here and he was AMAZING!

His mom and dad are wonderful people. This is/would not be an easy decision. This is why they have chosen to make some arrangements in the home, work on training and look for other options other than rehoming at this time. I LOVE THIS! They are willing to put in the hard work, use more tools available. I know them personally, they will not make a choice lightly.

Should they not be able to make this work and keep both dogs safe we will repost Jax for adoption.

Jax is looking for a new home. More news to come. Stay tuned!

Our Story

Dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming Oklahoma Jacks, as well as educating future and current owners about the care and needs of this enthusiastic and clever breed. We pull Jacks from shelters across the state, and whenever possible we aim to assist owners considering rehoming their dog(s). We offer education/training and other supportive options to allow the dog(s) to stay in the home. If this is determined not to be an option, we work with the owner toward a short-term solution until a space at the rescue or qualified foster can be found as we move toward a more permanent remedy (such as a new adoptive home) can be found.
