These two sweet siblings are thriving in their foster home, loved and nurtured every day—but their little hearts are eager for forever families of their own.

Snow is as sweet as snow candy! She adores playtime—whether it’s chasing toys or wrestling with her brother—and she soaks up attention like sunshine. Photo shoots? She’s ready to pose!
Blanco is a clever cuddlebug with the softest purr-ometer you’ll ever hear. He enjoys wrestling with Snow, climbing, and (adorably) curling up on the books in his foster family’s study. He’s a clever one!

Both are full of love—just waiting to bring joy to the lucky homes that scoop them up.

🎃 Four Little Pumpkins Just Rolled In!

Meet Clover, Harvest, Cider & Blackjack — siblings as sweet as their autumn names. 🍂 Blackjack skipped pumpkin posing and went straight for lounging.

Born to a stray mama who’d already had litter after litter, these “Autumn Kittens” are the last. She’s now spayed — no more endless pregnancies, just a safe future. Spay/neuter saves lives.

Brie – our playful ray of sunshine! ☀️

Brie is the last little sweetheart waiting for a home from the family we rescued out of a drain pipe with their brave mama, Misty.

From such a rough start, she has blossomed into a curious, joyful girl who finds endless delight in her cat tunnel (maybe it reminds her of her early “pipe days!”), chasing wand toys, and romping with furry friends.

She’s ready to be someone’s new best friend and a breath of fresh air in a loving home.

✨ Adoption Announcement ✨

Affectionate Freddie and Crush have found their forever family! They weren’t with their foster for long, but we sure do appreciate the love and care they received!!

It was such a beautiful moment when they arrived—Ella was immediately drawn to Freddie, while her brother Ollie felt a connection with Crush. In the photo, each child proudly holds their new kitten while Dad and Grandmom lovingly stood to the side, letting the kids soak in this special moment of new beginnings.

The bond between children and animals is something truly healing. These kittens started their lives under a house and now have a safe, loving home where they’ll grow alongside Ella and Ollie, receiving comfort, companionship, and a whole lot of play. In return, Freddie and Crush will help teach compassion, responsibility, and the magic of unconditional love.

Here’s to a lifetime of bonding, joy and healing—for both the kittens and their wonderful family. 💙

🧡 Adoption Update: Sweet Wren 🧡

Adorable Wren has found her forever home! She was adopted yesterday by an amazing couple who have so much love to give. Mom is a former vet tech, and together they’ve rescued many cats and animals over the years.

They recently lost a beloved kitty, leaving a sibling behind. When Wren popped up on their screen, it felt serendipitous—just the little soul they needed to bring comfort and joy back into their home.

Wren is the perfect kitten to heal hearts and spread sweetness, and we couldn’t be happier for this beautiful match. This kind couple even brought us a gift (seen in the last photo) which we will thoroughly enjoy! We’re very grateful and wish the whole family love and endless Wren purrs.

✨ Volunteer turned adopter! ✨

We’re overjoyed to share that our newest volunteer, Kristy, and her husband, Bill, have welcomed sweet Luna into their family!

Though it was only Kristy’s second shift with us, she already lights up the room when she’s with the kittens—and Luna immediately stole their hearts.

With a special love for white cats, and in honor of one they recently lost, Luna joins their family of feline friends. We couldn’t imagine a more perfect match!

Nahimana Forest Animal Sanctuary

We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization in the state of North Carolina, dedicated to serving the needs of abandoned/neglected animals. Though our initial focus is rescuing and providing adoptive services for kittens, our future expansion will allow us to work with other domesticated and, some, farm animals. Additionally, we maintain a Certified Wildlife Habitat on our 22 acres of forest land.

Because we are all connected at the deeper part of our existence, our service for animals and the land stems from our messages of the worthiness of all living creatures and ways in which we are bound together. We complete the circle of this sanctuary as licensed foster parents for girls who have experienced neglect, by providing the opportunity for shared healing, respect, and responsibilities for, and with, animals and nature.
