Take note, everyone! 😁

Hey Everyone!! I'm still here!!

It has been another busy summer but the main winter clipping season is nearly upon us again, time just goes too fast!!

Nothing much has changed but just a few things to recap on -

Sorry but no new clients unless local to Chorley or on a yard I already go to & you can fit in with others on the same day.

I do get ridiculously busy & can be on a 3/4 week lead time come Oct onwards so it's important you plan ahead & book in early, especially if you have shows to go to i.e NW Champs or STARS.

Please message me through this page, text 07902 265308, WhatsApp or Messenger.

No point trying to ring me! if during the day I won't stop clipping or driving to take a call!

My working hours are 9 to 5 Mon to Saturday, I don't do evenings or Sundays.

When booking in, please provide as much information as possible?

How many horses are there?
How big are they?
What sort of clips are they having?
Your location? preferably a postcode
A rough date when you would like them doing?
Does any of them need sedating? esp important if a vet sedation.

If you're a regular client you might think the above does not apply to you but circumstances can change? a new horse, moved yards or you might be organising a full yard day so please still think on & help me out a bit, I can spend all night unnecessarily going back & forth with messages! If all the correct information is supplied in the first place then I can reply straight away with some dates for you to choose from, job done!!

If you're a new client or not the most regular & I can't remember you then a simple "can you clip my horse" may not even get an answer!

I don't come out for just manes & tails anymore but am happy to include a tidy up whilst clipping.

Dirty horses are not acceptable!! A bath a day or two before is preferable or if the horse has been constantly brushed & hot clothed to within an inch of it's life then it should be OK? I will leave it to your discretion! But I will walk away if too dirty!!

Please be ready, i.e your horse in the stable not still out in the field! I may be on a tight schedule & can't hang around for you to get them in & even worse then start having to brush them off! see previous paragraph lol!

I think that's it for now? Hopefully there will be nothing to add to this whinge list 🤣

See you Sandra

Wash the horse 🚿🧼

Every winter we promote washing horses prior to clipping, this winter is no different 🤭

WHY❓
📍Your horses comfort- prevents hair snagging and pulling in the blades
📍Your clipper- reduces strain on your machine
📍Your blades- helps longevity of blade sharpness
📍Finish- ultimately you will achieve a much better finish by washing prior to clipping

❌Avoid❌ using any pre clip oils or coat sprays prior to clipping these can coat your blades and cause them to generate heat. There is no substitute for a good bath and or groom ✅

*if you are in a situation where bathing and stabling prior to clipping isn’t an option hot cloth every day in the run up to clipping and keep the horse adequately rugged so they are dry and clean- a thorough groom taking a full hour that works up a sweat then the day of clipping will suffice*

Look at this georgous girl! What a stunning colour! 23 year old Doris was just one of many clipped last week & this week looks just as busy! There are plenty of reasons too clip at this time of year, Doris still enjoys a full life of long hacks but was getting too warm just walking, another was on box rest & the stable was sweltering! Unlike in the field where there might be a nice breeze in the stable there was just no relief! Then there was a couple of coloured traditionals who had a Covercote clip ready for the shows plus an event pony, dressage horse, a sweet itch horse that has too be covered from head too tail with rugs, hoods etc so was getting very sweaty under them & quite a few other cobs who never seem to get a nice fine summer coat & just needed to be made more comfortable. Every horse has different needs & every owners circumstances are different so just go with what you think is best, no clip, half clip or full clip!! 🥰
