Fleas - as we are probably fully ensconced in flea season, please remember we will stop the groom if we find live fleas on your dog and call you to collect your little furry one immediately.
Please ensure you are following a responsible flea deterrent treatment plan - this can be a chemical treatment from your vet (don’t trust frontline or over the counter treatments) or a herbal treatment.
Most of you will know I followed a daily herbal treatment with my boy Red - Billy No Mates daily in his food and additional lemon balm spray when I knew he’d be near other dogs or fields with potential ticks.
The key to fleas is to treat your pet consistently throughout the season (it started very early this year due to the mild weather).
If you’re due in for a groom, ensure your dog has had a treatment at least 48 hours prior to coming to the salon, I’d suggest a week before if they are due a treatment.
If we get fleas in the salon, we have to close down operations to ensure we are not letting other dogs catch them or the resident Yogi Bear getting a flea bite as he’s allergic and makes him terribly poorly.
Thanks peeps
