Since my 11th Gotcha Day is only 6 days away, I am going to share some old pictures with mew to celebrate, not just this TBT but often. Hocus Pocus and I decided it should be a weeklong affair with this coming Caturday and the following Caturday as the pawty times for it. We just could not decide to do it beforepaw or after. So we decided to do both. We can do that. We are cats. *Giggles uncontrollably *
I meant to tell mew what happened the other night but forgot. As mew know there is a war of the wills with Daddy’s chair. I want it early. Daddy wants to stay in it as long as pawsible. We have come to a “truce”. Most of the time I return to Momma’s lap until we are in the final countdown to bed and then walk across the arm rest and wait for Daddy to vacate. Last night he was a bit slow but I can glare him into submission.
Then, I like to snuggle in his armpit in bed. This is the one time I like snuggling with Daddy. It is comfy, warm and aromatic. I used to prefer to be a Maine Coon blanket on top of Momma but we both decided it was no longer comfortable all night for either of us.
The other night she asked Daddy if I was with her. Nope. Scott did not know where I was either. She searched and searched until she say her fleece throw was all bundled up and discovered I had rolled myself up in it. She laughed and asked if I wanted an MC blanket. Yes, woman. Why else would wrap myself like a gift. Pfft!
We did enjoy some MC snuggles until she moved too much and I just could not get into the “right” pawsition. I jumped down and went to old faithful, the old man. Still, it showed great generosity on my part and the fact that we both wish we could sleep like that still. *Sighs*
Getting old is not for wusses.
Have a wonderful Purrsday everypawdy and please be safe, healthy and warm. Bit “heat wave” tomorrow and Caturday. We will be flirting with 10C or 50. Enjoy it while mew can. I love mew.
Purr, trill, coo, chirp,
Thank mew for all your concern yesterday. I am so lucky to have a family and furriends who care so much about meow. It is humbling.
I am happy to report after a good morning kip under my blanket tent, I emerged more like myself. Vocal and hungry and perky. In fact I kept trying to convince my humans that I had been shortchanged in the stinky goodness department and should be fed more often in the afternoon. Momma had decided, to rest my tummy, that I would have kibble the rest of the day but I soon dissuaded her.
Vocal? I told her very clearly what was expected and she eventually complied. But I had entirely missed one meal and most of my wee hours. I only got the other three servings. I can count. I attempted to convince them that they were committing a heinous kitty crime but alas, they refused. They said they did not want to over tax my tummy. Harrumph! Pull the other one. It has bells on.
Anyway, I was back to stinkpottery by the afternoon so everypawdy was much relieved.
And this morning, since they have a third early busy day in a row, Momma made sure she was up by half past ungodly. Daddy is up and they will call Scott soon. He has his bloodwork and they want to go to Wal Mart before his appointment. I know they have a number of things to get but the only impawtant one is to fill in some of my favourite flavours of stinky goodness that are not available in the mixed boxes from Chewy. There are only a few but they are vital to keeping my varieties where I like them.
That is fine. I can kip until they return and then I shall expect full on snuggles and cuddles. I know Momma will oblige.
Have a wonderful and whiskery Wednesday and please stay safe and healthy. Thank mew for all the comments and follows and love. FB must be playing with my algorithms again as the new ones have fallen to nothing so I really do appreciate all your support. I love mew.
Purr, trill, coo, chirp, warble, chirrup.
Momma did this video the other day when she found meow lounging in my sunbeam. I think mew will agree, I was enjoying both sunbeam and scritches. Purrrrr.
Hocus Pocus and I were discussing the names Scott called meow and have decided that next Caturday’s theme will be How To Train Your Human. I think we will have a Bum in the Face convention and then those who wish to try out those skills can help with a group bum in the face to Scott for those insults. *Evil laughter*. I know many of mew trust and love Scott so he will probably fall on the floor in fits of giggles when we do it. It is a compliment… of sorts.
*Snickers*. Just like his loving nick-names.
Just to be clear, my request for earlier stinky had little or nothing to do with the clocks. There is always kibble for grazing if I am truly famished. No. I have been known to play the stinkpot early just because I can. I am not successful immediately but I do have my tactics and I often succeed… which is why he calls meow the kitty terrorist.
That woman! I just interrupted my dictation to go have a nibble of kibble and she had not replaced the empty stinky dish. *Look of umbrage*. She did hop to it when she realized the error of her ways but I had to wait. Probably a whole minute or two. Harrumph!
Yes, How to Train Your Human is a good choice for Caturday. Clearly mine are in need of remedial training. It is so hard to get good staff.
Hope mew have a marvellous Meowday which finds mew healthy, happy and safe. Remember, I love mew.

Grandma’s blanket! Scott’s lap. Last night. Bliss!!!!
Momma did this short video whilst I was snuggled in heaven while we watched our two Halloween movies last night- The Frighteners and From Hell. We had not watched either last year. Scott keeps a journal so he knows which ones we see each year. Pfft. Good thing. Momma can never remember.
It was quite mice yesterday with mild temps around the low 60s or mid teens and we even had some sun. Lots of rain, however, overnight and today it may return but still quite mild. We will be up and down over the next week but then there is the inevitable slide back down. And just when Momma was getting used to the cooler stuff, it springs back up again. She can never quite figure out what to wear each day. If she was superior, like us kitties, she would never have to worry. We are always turned out well no matter the weather. *Beams with pride*
Things went smoothly at the dentist. Both parents have clean chompers and good check ups. Momma booked to do the leftover work from her previous check up next month. She is going to get the sedation again. She said it was the easiest she ever experienced and no gag reflex ‘cuz she was so relaxed. *Sniggers*. And very dozy and silly when she came home.
They are going to finish the turn over to the Fall clothes and bedding this weekend. It is quite late thanks to the lingering warmer weather but it is now time. I shall snoopervise. But I expect Momma to fulfill her lap duties regardless of whatever jobs the guys want her to do. After all, it is her most impawtant job.
And it is the one that gives her the greatest pleasure.
Hope there are lots of pleasurable things this Furrday and that mew are happy, healthy and safe. I will see my furriends tomorrow as we have a casual get together and maybe toast Nanny who will be 101 a week today. And don’t forget. I love mew.

For TBT I thought I would treat mew to a video of when I was a youngster and loved to do zoomies in Momma’s bedroom. My zoomies tend to be more reserved these days- when I do them- and this week, Momma has noticed that I appear a bit more pained and stiff. It is the colder and damper weather. it does not help our arthritis. Neither Momma nor I like it. But we have been continuing with our lap-a-thons.
She finished changing Daddy’s clothes yesterday morning but once she had completed her work, she was ready to offer meow the green chair and purple blankie. Scott is going to do his clothes today while the ‘rents are both out for their regular dental appointments. They do back to back so it will cut into my lap time this morning. But so far, when Momma has been busy, Scott has been happy to provide a comfortable place to curl up.
We have some cold weather coming over the weekend but now the weather suggesters say we could see some temps in the high teens or the mid 60s in the next fortnight. Momma is just getting used to the colder stuff but she will embrace a couple of warmer days.
We finished our Universal horrors last night with The Wolfman and Abbott and Costello Meet the Wolfman. Then we finished The Fall of the House of Usher. It was very cleverly done and was gripping. We can recommend it. We loved the way so much of Poe’s work was interwoven into the story. And Poe was a big kitty lover so we love Poe.
It will be a mice day here this Purrsday. Hope it is equally mice where mew are and mew are safe and healthy and happy. Mew are also loved. By meow. But mew know that! Giggles.
Purr, trill, coo, chirp, warble, chirrup.
As mew know it turned quite raw and chilly over the weekend. It was like Mother Nature flipped the switch. Which is what Daddy did today. Flipped the switch on the furnace ‘cuz Momma and Scott were cold.
Thank Bast I come with my own fur coat, which is filling in micely.
Mew all know Scott’s scritches are legendary. Mew all know I am extremely fond of the green chair, purple blankie and Momma’s lap. Cold + Momma+ Scott + blanket = Bliss!
It’s been a while since I last posted a video so I think mew will share the happiness with meow. *Beams with delight*
Have a wonderful Tuna/Tummy Tickle Tuesday and please stay warm and safe and healthy. And remember, I love mew very, very much.
Purr, trill, coo, chirp, warble, chirrup.
Yesterday morning. Looking at Momma. Being cute. What does she do? She tries to take a few snaps. Un uh lady. I am not cooperating. Does she stop? Nope. She is stubborn. She just turns on the video and starts sweet talking meow. Here is the video. *Sighs*. I guess I am looking pretty cute…
We are now beginning the big purrday weekend. Let us start off with a happy purrday to Michelle, Hocus Pocus’ mom. I am tomorrow and HP daddy is on Tuesday. *Mops brow*. What a whirlwind of felicitations. Of course, the guest are already arriving for my pawty today. Scott is not up yet but I better rouse him. There is already a line up at the scritch table. *Sniggers*. He is going to be one busy chap today.
Yesterday Momma was totally remiss in the morning. First she and Scott went to the pool and stopped at the Farmers Market on their way home. A quick turn around and she was off for her massage. She came back, did some peaches and then off they went- all three of them- over to the pub for lunch.
She came home and offered the green chair. Pfft. I chose to stay in the family room with Scott. I refused her invitation. That will teach her to be so cavalier with her duties. *Look of determination*. Of course, when she came in to watch the final episodes of season 8 of SG1, I availed myself of her lap. I am no fool. I made my point. Enough said.
Loved the end of SG1 season 8 and that would have been a perfect way to stop. At the time they thought that was it but it did come back for two more seasons but without Richard Dean Anderson as the lead. I love Ben Browder but cannot not imagine how he can compare with RDA. But we shall see…
Going to be hot and sunny today…getting hotter and with the suggestion of an above normal first half of September. I hope the weather is cooperating wherever mew may be and that the clean ups after the various floods, storms and fires is not too onerous.
Have a wonderful Caturday and a grand long
See. See what I mean. Pawpawrazzi! Every time I do something cute, which I hasten to add is all the time, out comes the camera. I tried my best not to cooperate but she is quick and very duplicitious. She says I am irresistible. *Sighs*. I guess I am catnip to her.
It was a much quieter day yesterday with the worst being some light rain for a while. It still feels like a stew of heat and humidity. Today will be the worst. It will feel like 108F before some storms come through and drop the temps. By Sunday it should be very pleasant. Windows open! *Pumps paw*. But not today. Today I shall remain in the ac.
Momma will be going to the pool and market on her own today as Scott wrenched something in his shoulders and is too sore. I shall be called upon for fursing duties. Anypawdy who wishes to morph over early to help get him in shape for his scritching duties tomorrow is more than welcome. I am sure he will enjoy the kitty love.
I almost stole Scott’s chair last night. Mew know I have a reputation as a chair thief but usually when we are watching tv, it is Daddy’s chair. After my final stinky goodness, I came back into the family room and his chair was empty. I gave it a long and lingering look but Momma warned him he was going to be usurped. Then Daddy offered his chair. I looked at both his and Scott’s. Back and forth, I pondered. Then I jumped up into the space beside Momma. It was too easy. I prefer a challenge. Besides, it was Momma and she is constantly telling meow how sweet I am and how cute and…well, mew get the picture.
We do have more storms coming later today so paws crossed for everypawdy in the path. Stay safe and stay healthy. And remember, I love mew.
