The ‘rents did a lot of travelling before COVID. They got all the impawtant bucket list items ticked and this trip to Scotland in 2017 was a biggie for Daddy. Heritage and whisky and The Tattoo. Say no more. Momma also got in some Outlander and they visited with Jacky before setting off for Edinburgh. It was an amazing trip for them.
Even though I missed the old folks when they went gallivanting off around the world, and made them feel wonderfully guilty, I am glad they got all the hard stuff done while Momma still had the ability to climb to the Castle and do so many other active things she could not handle now. That was the thought process. Get things done whilst her pins were still reasonably steady.
And then the monkey wrench of COVID made us all grateful that they had checked off those bucket list items. Next February will be the first time Momma is on an airplane since before COVID. All her trips thereafter have been by car. It will be a real test.
No test of the weather though. That heat spell finally broke and the windows were flung open yesterday afternoon and shall remain so until they are forced to close them again. Bliss.
I hope things are good this Furrday and mew are safe, healthy and happy. I love mew.
Purr, trill, coo, chirp, warble, chirrup.
This is meow last night, snuggled close to Momma in the same chair. I wanted to make sure she did not get away again. I felt sufficiently confident to let her go upstairs alone. I did not wait too long however to join her. I heard her say that the door would stay open at least until she turned off the light. I knew I had time.
One can never be too cautious.
So many of mew commented on my behavior the other day. I remind mew of a very impawtant rule in the cat handbook. It says: *clears throat* "cats should be both cute and mischievous". It allows us great choice in the how much of one or the other is allowed. However, it is necessary to tick both boxes in any given month. Since my parents leave in a week, I felt obliged to fulfill my quota the other day. Purrfectly reasonable!
I returned to my regular sweet self and I am currently watching my domain and my humans from my kitchen perch.
The suitcases came up yesterday and they each have one that is shaped like my carrier. I did not like seeing that and cowered behind my back bedroom perch. I came out once I realized it was nothing but it did give meow a start.
Knowing Momma she will probably be sorting through her stuff to decide what to take and what to leave. Daddy is getting so excited booking things they will do on their free days. *Sigh*. I know this is a bucket list for Daddy but I see no reason why it is necessary. They are even staying with a dog (Mr. B) and going to visit a dog (Greyfriars Bobby) in Edinburgh.
*Snorts and grumbles*
There will be recompense.
