Kitties get ready to start your engines.

Today is the big day, the annual Kitty 500 races are today. Good luck to all the racers in both the Senior Shuffle and the Main Race. Hocus Pocus will have all the exciting play by play action on her page later.

Yesterday we were busy getting everything setup for today. We set up the racetrack, had a walkthrough for the racers and everybody has selected their angel push pass buddy(including mew’s truly). There will also be lots of tasty treats and catnip and maybe even an impromptu pork chop heist.

I need to get to the meeting for the Angel flyby before the races begin. I hope mew all enjoy the Kitty 500 and good luck to all contestants.

I know how much mew love my stink pottery. This post is ladened with it. I know mew always rooted for meow in the battle of the wills even though the outcomes were already determined. Silly humans for even trying.

The outcomes for the 500 are yet to be determined. Good thing the races can be run inside the palace since outside it is a rather soggy mess and it appears to be doomed to remain so at least into the afternoon. Never fear. Hocus Pocus and I have contingency plans. Would we disappoint mew? Never!

Our moms are both so gobsmacked with the way this thing has grown since we first decided to run the Kitty 500. It warms our little kitty hearts to see the field increase each year. It is a fun event and who could resist unlimited scritches from Scott for one entire year. Forget medals, cups or even money. Scott’s scritches are priceless. Ask the previous winners!

The palace is already humming with excitement and the scones are warming and the coffee is on for the early birds. Don’t forget to check in often on Hocus Pocus’ page today and tomorrow.

It is a long holiday weekend in the US and the UK so I hope mew all have a wonderful time but stay safe and healthy. And paws crossed the fireworks are not a problem either. I love mew.

We had fireworks last night but in the natural form. The thunderstorms that rolled through contained tornadoes and we had our second alert this week. It was not a false alarm. There were tornadoes all around and in London. We were okay but some came very close.

It was scary but Daddy kept an eye out and the humans were ready to head into the cellar if necessary. Momma says they need a plan just in case.

The heat has ended but this morning is not as bad as expected. 10C or 50F at the moment. Only going to 12 and down to 7 overnight but bouncing back to mid to high teens until the weekend where we will return to low 20s. *Mops brow*. Dodged the real cold and the tornadoes all in one night.

Momma is off for a 7am X-ray so I will wish mew a whiskery Wednesday. Be safe, healthy and happy. I love mew.

It was a busy caturday. The qualifying rounds set the slate for next weeks great races. Thank mew to Hocus Pocus who has done a pawsome job organizing the races. If any of mew are looking for some angel assists next week during the races I would be happy to help meow. Hopefully next weekend we don’t get the rain washout we did yesterday.

The weather seems to be finally shifting with our temperatures warming up. Scott was busy changing his winter wardrobe over to his summer. I of course had to snoopervise. He got all his summer stuff put away and tomorrow he will be putting all the winter stuff into keepers and putting them in the basement.

The Victoria Day Weekend is really early thus year but at least its bringing with it the more summery weather. Everypawdy is looking forward to the summer weather around the house. Open windows, barbecue and hopefully lots of mice breezes.
