Are you aware of all the different ways you can manage your dog’s arthritis pain?

Once you have the foundations in place (pain control, weight management, and home/lifestyle adaptations), it is important to remember that there are additional treatment modalities, such as physiotherapy, available to your dog.

Arthritis is a progressive disease, meaning that it will worsen over time and therefore requires an ever-changing management plan. Learn all of the ways you can improve your dog’s quality of life and reduce their pain by enrolling in our course for owners, Canine Arthritis Essentials - a comprehensive overview of ALL of the ways you can help your arthritic dog.

⚡Sensory stimulation to increase hind limb awareness.⚡

This is a proprioceptive enhancement technique, used for this 🐕as part of an ongoing management programme due to a loss in proprioception (awareness of the body in space) following challenges due to hip dysplasia, osteoarthritis and lumbosacral problems.

The scrunchies are a temporary aid used only for a few minutes at a time, and carefully selected for suitability and effectiveness for each patient. Each animal is an individual and treated as such; what may work for one might not work for another!

The winter mud may now be a distant memory to most, but summer’s hard ground can bring a new set of problems for the competition season.

Concussive force is created when your horse’s hoof hits the ground. When the ground is soft, most of the foot is cushioned, and the forces are absorbed by the ground and marginally by the structures of the limb. When the ground is firmer, the turf is less able to absorb these concussive forces, which then, as a result, travel back up the limb. This can, in some cases, lead to discomfort and injury.

Read our recent blog, written by EQ Vet Beky, explaining how you can help your horse during periods of hard ground. If you are competing this summer, whether it's The Cotswold Cup, fun rides etc., this one is for you.

Complementary therapies - in conjunction with veterinary treatment - can really make a huge difference to activity and comfort levels. Physiotherapy is included in many insurance policies.

Do you know why some dogs wear a yellow lead, harness, collar or coat? Today is day – designed to raise awareness of those reactive dogs who find interactions with other dogs (and sometimes people too) a bit overwhelming and stressful. Being aware of dogs in yellow and giving them the space they need is really helpful to owners of these dogs, who may be working hard to build their pets confidence. 💛

CAM gets approached by the public regarding suitable harnesses a lot, and it is a minefield with many harnesses offering amazing qualities.

We plan to expand and include a range of trialled and tested harnesses for you guys, but for now, let us introduce you to a recent collaboration with Snuggle Pets.

The CAM bespoke fleece harness offers Hannah the chance to control and stabilise Holly around the home and on walks, with the strong, built-in handle on top of the harness, they also have a wide belly strap for comfort. Holly wears hers all the time and models it well in the photo, you must excuse the slightly dirty harness in the photographs, but they show it’s very well used!

It is not a lifting harness, but a harness that offers a little lift to stabilise. For example helping over thresholds, guiding over rough terrain, slowing on downhill descents.

It is comfortable to be worn all day and night. It is non restrictive around the neck and shoulders.

So thank you Snuggle Pets for working with us to create an affordable, simple but effective product for owners.

(Due to this product being made-to-measure, it’s not for sale directly via our CAM online shop, but click on the buy button via the link above and you will be taken to the Snuggle Pets website, where you can place your order)

For every CAM Fleece Harness sold, Snuggle Pets will donate 15% towards CAM.
Prices start from £26.
