UPDATE:
This isn't the update we had hoped to share. Georgie was set free of his pain today. It was determined that he was in end stage kidney failure and the mass in his nose and eye was extensive and likely cancerous. We could not fix him and his pain could not be managed. The difficult decision to set him free was made. He did not deserve to be abandoned in a parking lot but we were grateful that he found his way to safety and was held close in the end and told how much he mattered. Rescue is hard, saying good bye is hard. Wishing we could have done more breaks our hearts. A special thank you goes to our amazing volunteer who who was there with him in the end when he was set free from this world that can be so harsh. Run free, Georgie. You were loved, and you will be remembered.

From trapped kittens born outside to adopted: 344 days were how long it took these boys to learn to trust and love humans. Today they joined their new forever family together where they will live the good life of loved members of a family... TOGETHER!

This cat was found abandoned in a carrier at a pet store in Woodbury on Sunday, February 4.
He is an intact male and approximately 4-6 months old. He is not microchipped.

It's Happy Friday Funday and these boys just wanna have fun... they just don't know it yet!

These kittens were born outside and they are at a critical point for socializing. They could really use a fun space in a home where they can be part of the action but also kept safely contained. Happy National Cat Day!

We would like to introduce you to our newest STAR cluster! These 2 mamas and a combined 9 kittens are safe in rescue tonight. They are being treated for a horrible flea infestation and have a long road to recovery before they will be fully vetted and ready for adoption.

Fleas can quickly become deadly for kittens and we are so happy that they are in rescue and will receive the care that they need to live long, healthy and happy lives.

FOSTER NEEDED!

This mama and her 4 kittens are in urgent need of a safe place to go. Mama can come and go from the shed/garage that they are living in and they need to be moved before the kittens become more mobile and also venture outside of the shed.

Mama is friendly and the kittens are approximately 5 weeks old. They have all been socialized with people. The property owner is willing to collect them and transport them to a rescue with space for them.

Another busy weekend for the STAR family! This weekend we welcomed Jada, Jasper and Wayne in to our rescue family.

Goodbye Little Lucky

We hoped for so many more happy days with you, but it wasn’t meant to be. Every test and treatment available couldn’t save you. Rest easy little man.

We love you.

Lucky’s favorite activities were sitting on feet and bumping in to both people and dogs. He loved to be near everyone. He didn’t ask for much, but he enjoyed everything.

Rescue matters and our hearts heart.

Welcome to the STAR Family, Marigold!

Marigold didn't have a name.

Months ago she was a pregnant stray that wandered up to a rural home. The owners fed her, but she was forced to give birth outdoors. Slowly but surely, all of the kittens disappeared one by one. Mama hung around and they continued to feed her. A couple weeks ago they finally posted reaching out for help, and of course she was very pregnant again.

Rescue takes a village and thank you to our village of rescuers, Marigold is safe tonight.

She is extremely friendly and affectionate, so it's likely she was once an indoor kitty that was abandoned outdoors at some point. She will be giving birth to her last litter of kittens soon.

These kittens will be loved and cared for. They will not live the same fate of her previous kittens.

If you have a stray kitty wander up, especially a pregnant one; please seek help immediately! Don't force them to live outside and watch their kittens freeze to death or get killed by predators. It's cruel and unnecessary. Put the kitty in a spare bathroom or even a dog crate in a garage to keep them safe until we can help.

Help them and help us help them! We can't do this alone.

Marigold now has a name. Rescue makes a difference.

Phoebe needs a foster! Her human sister's allergies to her are worsening and she needs a new place to go to. She is said to be great with kids and dogs. She is 6 years old, spayed and declawed.

We need help! Seven cats were placed in these and abandoned next to a dumpster. Luckily someone saw them and grabbed them before they could get loose.

We weren't planning for this, but they weren't either! They are currently being held at the building that they were dumped and they need a safe place to go immediately!

Transport needed Saturday, March 11 at approximately 3 pm from Maple Grove to Inver Grove Heights.

Four kittens in two medium sized carriers. Carriers will go with them, so no transferring of carriers.!

Volunteers Needed!

Love kittens but can't foster in your home? We have the perfect opportunity for you to get your kitten fix while helping our rescued cats who are spending time in pet store adoption centers waiting for their forever families to find them!

Our locations needing adoption center volunteers are: Chaska, West St. Paul and possibly Eagan and/or Apple Valley. We can only partner with these pet store locations if we have volunteers to help provide care!

Qualifications:

Must love cats
Must be 18+ yrs. old
Must be willing to work with potential adopters to schedule meet and greets and or help adopters pick up kittens once adoptions have finalized.

*We are also in need of people willing/able to do cleanings between kitten residents.

TRANSPORT TO AND FROM FOSTER HOMES AND PET STORE LOCAITONS IS ALSO NEEDED!

On this “Giving Tuesday Day” we would like to share a story of Cora, Cameron and Carson.

These kittens were living outdoors and were considered outside of the crucial time for socialization. Older kittens need special fosters who will work with them to help them gain trust and learn how great it is to live as a loved member of a family. Without these fosters, there are no options other than to return them to live a hard life as an outdoor cat.

Thank you to the awesome team that made this amazing rescue possible. A special thank you to the Bloomington Chuck & Don’s who have a team member that was involved in their trapping and requested them as their foster at the store!

Today, Cora, Cameron and Carson are now living the dream life of love members of a family!

Transport Help Needed!

Mini Winnie and a few other kittens need some help getting from their spay/neuters in Minneapolis to their foster home in Inver Grove Heights on Monday, December 12.

The time of pick-up is typically between 3-5 pm, but it can change depending on when they are ready to be released.
