ANOTHER adopter reporting ANOTHER older cat adopted out of LCAR as a kitten...
July 2022: "I adopted my kitty about 3 weeks ago at the Bowie PetSmart and on the paperwork it said she was 8 months old. Within the first week of having her I had to take her to the ER and to the clinic in Waldorf (I live in Crofton). Today I took her to her new vet closer to me and found out she's actually 8-10 YEARS old, has arthritis, feline asthma and is missing a bunch of teeth (which should've been found in a basic exam before she was adopted out). I'm very unhappy with everything I've been through, but will keep her because she is a snuggly little girl. Last Chance needs to be honest on the paperwork when adopting out cats and I'm sure they'd still find a loving home."
A 6 month old kitten examined and given a clean bill of health by LCAR's vet is actually a 6-7 YEAR OLD CAT with a heart murmur, dental disease, tapeworms, yeast infection in ears, upper and lower respiratory infections, skin allergies, and possible lung damage. If you want to make close to $6 million a year with anther $3.9 million in the bank, adopting out as many animals as possible, as quickly as possible for cash-only, and refusing refunds and returning calls is one way to get rich quick.
"Hello, I have a horror story to share and I found your page after doing research on their Vet who signed my cat's clean bill of health to see if their license was real (sadly, it is yet I am flabbergasted at how it has not been revoked).
I adopted a cat from PetSmart and the paperwork said she had been dewormed, free of fleas, was in good general health and was 6 months old.I have had her for 2 months now and so far she has had extreme vomiting and diarrhea from tapeworms (she was at the last chance recommended vet - Banfield- 2 days before and they told me she was fine and the f***l sample was negative). I had also raised the concern of her extremely bad breath and that she was missing teeth and was told that was normal and kittens can have bad breath when they are teething (they clearly never looked in her mouth) and her excessive licking.Yesterday, I took her to another vet for a second opinion and I am still in shock at what they found. First, she has extreme dental disease and decay that is nearly impossible to have in a kitten so young and requires almost $1,000 in procedures, surgeries, medications, X-rays and bloodwork to fix. Secondly, after doing the X-rays, there are no signs of growth plates and the vet estimates her as actually being 6-7 YEARS old and is a senior cat who has likely had her own litter of kittens. The shock did not end there. She also has yeast infections in her ears, upper and lower respiratory infections and possible further lung issues based on the scan but we are awaiting further analysis from the radiologist. She also has a heart murmur that will require additional tests. Lastly, she likely has a skin allergy which is even more money in tests. We are now well over $1,000 dollars and we are only 2 months in. They need to be exposed and held accountable for these costs. This vet needs to be reprimanded and likely lose her license. Thank you for your page and helping to get the word out." Below: "This brown back tooth is so bad it needs to be surgically extracted."
