My 6am dog walks felt a bit like this today!

We are off on a family holiday tomorrow for a whole week! During this time, kritter sitter will be unavailable. I thank every single one of you who have used, and referred people to, the kritter service over the last TWO years!
This is our first proper holiday we've had in this time and we're looking forward to it 😀

See you back on 24th July! 🐾 ❤️ 🌟

Their (human) mum is unfortunately moving and can't take them with her 😭 she is one of my very regular clients, so I can vouch these guys are the most well looked after pet pigs!

Our veterinarians don't need to be called in, on Xmas day! Keep your babies safe from these.
Food scraps and chocolate aren't for doggos.
Tinsel and Xmas baubles aren't for kitties.

Don't be tempted to sneak your dog a bite of your lunch tomorrow - even if they give you their best puppy dog eyes! Remember, these festive foods are for dogs:

🍫 chocolate
☕ caffeine
🍇 raisins or grapes
🧅 onions or garlic
🥜 nuts, especially macadamias, mouldy walnuts, almonds and pistachios
🌽 corn cobs (the cobs can cause gastrointestinal obstructions)
🍖 cooked bones: these can splinter when chewed, causing irritation to the gastrointestinal tract
🍬 sugar-free sweets containing xylitol or birch sugar

I have met sooooo many amazing people and, of course, their wonderful furry babes. I couldn't ever imagine NOT doing this job!

9.4.23 𝗙𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗 𝗠𝗔𝗟𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗨𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝗕𝗟𝗔𝗖𝗞 𝗦𝗛𝗢𝗥𝗧 𝗛𝗔𝗜𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝗖𝗔𝗧 6.4.23. We have had a large male neutered black short haired cat found in the Burn Street, Oamaru area. He has a microchip but it doesn't appear to be registered on the databases that we use. He is desperate to get home for Easter!
*Being Easter Weekend and the clinic only open on Saturday our on-call vet is Natascha and she knows all about him, so feel free to call any day over the weekend period.

Today while walking dogs in Weston, my 18 month old dropped her snack container!
We walked along Gordon st, from Sussex. Turned left and went up Argyle to the main St. Walked along in front of Ludemann motors and across the road to the A2O track. Walked halfway down, to mainlands yard, turned around, then back along Whiterocks Road and up onto Sussex st again.

I've traced steps from Gordon St to the A2O track but didn't have time to walk along Whiterocks Road, again.
If anyone sees it on their journeys, could you please grab it and I'll collect it from you!

These things always seem difficult to talk about but here we go.....

As an avid animal lover, it's amazing the options we have for our wonderful babies, once they pass on. Especially with a lot of people not being able to have them in their backyard, these days.

Nic and Karly at Little and Loved Cremations are beautiful people who do everything they can to make this process go as smoothly as possible for us all. It's a big and very precise job they do, to bring your loved one back to your home and heart.

They're also great advocates for supporting local businesses so it's wonderful they're adding more Oamaru businesses to their repertoire.

I had the privilege of being invited to the early learning centre, that my children attend, to speak to the kids about animals and how to be kind to them.

So this morning, the girls got dressed up in their favorite animal onesies, I put on my Vet nurse hat (rather than my mum hat) and we took Josie dog for a visit to school!

We were also lucky to have some quail come for a visit, too.

Ps: I promise the two babies love each other and aren't plotting anything 🤣

Daylight saving is here and with an extra day off, to boot!

I have had some absolutely amazing animals in my life the last few weeks and I can't wait to share many more weekends (and holidays) with you all! Unfortunately Facebook capped me at 20 pictures 🤣
