Such a cute girl! 😍🐾 For all of those in or around NYC!

RIZA's STORY: Foster mom shares this about her recent foster... "I LOVE her, best foster ever!"
Riza was adopted from LLAR as a puppy and returned when her adopter's veterinarian was concerned with hip dysplasia.😞Once getting her back in rescue, we noticed her issues were a little more serious. Vets, including a neurologist, were concerned she had hydrocephalus. After and MRI and some other diagnostic testing it was discovered that she had a condition called myotonia congenita. Basically, her muscles get frozen from time to time. But thankfully, tis condition is not neurological and she's expected to live a long life!😄 YAY!

She is on daily, inexpensive medication which she does really well on. Cases like these make her foster mom especially grateful for Louie's - because she is a GREAT DOG with a lot to offer a furever family! Her testing was expensive (almost $4,000). If we didn't have the resources to get to the bottom of her condition- who knows what would have happened! RIZA, this BEAUTIFUL, fun-loving girl deserves a second chance!!! The perfect little guy that brought us into the wonderful world of rescue, Sammy (the one in the pajamas) with his brothers, Tiny and Little. He's not with us anymore but we are forever grateful for the couple of years that we got to spend with him, for him opening our eyes to animal rescue, and that we get to look back on all of these adorable pictures of him. Some people are weary about the idea of spaying or neutering their pet. Are they too young to be fixed? Are they too old? How extensive is the procedure? How long is the recovery time? Is it a costly procedure? Will it change my pets behavior or make him/her more aggressive? These are all extremely valid concerns. Our pets are our babies and we only want the best for them...

Let's face it, pet ID tags are expensive. Ridiculously expensive. But they are also necessary. Extremely necessary. Having multiple forms of contact securely attached to your pets considerably increases the chances of a pet being reunited with it's owner. Shocking, then that only about 33% of Pet owners actually use pet ID tags for their pets. The ridiculous prices that PetCo and Pet Smart charge for tags from those pet ID tag kiosks are not helping the problem...

Ah, litter boxes. The arch nemesis of every cat owner. They're messy. They're expensive. They need constant maintenance. They ruin quickly. Sometimes it seems like it would be easier to toilet train our cats, if not for the horrifying prospect of walking in on Mittens sitting on the porcelain throne, elbows on knees, scrolling through Facebook. Seriously though, litter boxes are terrible and this DIY project changed the litter box game for us forever.
