I just took my cat Molly to the vet! She was not happy about it, but for a 17-year-old cat (her age is approximate as I don't really know when she was born) she is doing quite well. Veterinary care is very important as our pets age.

It's World Giraffe Day! Giraffes live in over 100 facilities accredited by The Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), including The Wilds. The AZA community works with several field partners to help ensure a future for wild giraffe populations. These collaborations include direct conservation action, education, scientific research, and public awareness.
Drought is one of the threats contributing to the giraffe's endangered status. Unfortunately, droughts are becoming more frequent and severe in many regions of Africa. While giraffes receive most of their water from the plants they consume, waterholes are crucial for their well-being, as they need to visit them every few days.

Happy World Dhole Day! The dholes in our care are stars on Nat Geo Wild's Secrets of the Zoo, which is currently airing its 5th season (also streaming on Disney+). The dholes continue to do well and love enrichment items and playing in their pool.
Today, the dholes will be receiving enrichment throughout the day from our carnivore specialist. Our volunteers will also be sharing information about dholes and handing out free swag, courtesy of the Dhole Conservation Fund. We hope you will join us!
Overall, there is a lack of global awareness and education about these canines, which is contributing to their status as highly endangered animals. We are excited to be part of spreading awareness about these unique animals this World Dhole Day and every day!
