Our mission is to help homeless dachshunds in all of the Atlantic Provinces find new homes. Our goal is to educate the public about the breed and about responsible pet ownership so we can reduce the number of animals that end up in shelters and rescues.

We want to send well wishes to this sweet bonded pair as they are off to the vet this morning. Dolly will be spayed and Jimmy Dean will be neutered. They will also be microchipped, receive their vaccines and flea & tick prevention.

Please welcome 16 month old Furby. He is sweet, handsome and a little shy. Furby will need to see the vet for a check-up and to schedule his neuter, once he has had some time to settle in.

💜 LOLA UPDATE 💜
🛑 GRAPHIC DETAIL WARNING 🛑
Thank you everyone for the well wishes. I had a rough start to my day 😔 Shortly after I arrived at the vet hospital, I had a very loose, bloody stool. In fact there was more blood than there was stool. So, instead of having basic bloodwork for my surgery, the vet did a more in-depth panel to ensure there was nothing serious going on. Luckily the tests for Parvo and Anaplasmosis came back negative and my levels all seemed to be in the normal ranges, so I had my surgeries. I had two tumors removed, had my spay, got a microchip and my vaccines are now all up to date...except for my booster, which I will get in a few more weeks.
I need to rest, with little movement and make sure I heal, inside and out.
I am on some medications for the next week and a bland diet. How lucky am I, to have my foster make me hamburger and rice with sweet potato AND chicken with rice and sweet potato. I wonder which one I will like best? Guess I will find out at breakfast. For now, I am off to bed to get some much needed rest.

We are asking if you can send best wishes and positive vibes for Lola today as she is off to have surgery. Lola will be spayed as well as have a number of Mammary tumors removed. We won't know until she is having surgery if she will require a Unilateral Mastectomy (one side) or a Bilateral Mastectomy (both sides).
Once she is out of surgery and resting, we will update everyone as to how she did.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes for Mrs. We**ie Brown.
Her surgery yesterday went well! She had two cancerous masses removed and had her spay. She was getting lots of pampering in her foster home, including having supper in bed. Her foster Mom said, on the menu was 'finger foods', lol. We**ie was hand fed, spoiled like the queen she is 💜 She is such a sweet gentle soul.

We are asking if you can send best wishes and positive vibes for Mrs. We**ie Brown. Today, We**ie is having surgery. She will be spay as well as have a growth removed from her lower teat. The Mammary tumor is large, as you can see in the pictures. We**ie also has a few more growths on other teats along the same side. Her surgery today will be what is called a Unilateral Mastectomy.
Once she is out of surgery and resting, we will update everyone as to how she did.

We are asking for a miracle here and we know it is a BIG ask!

With SEVEN DACHSHUNDS surrendered in just SEVEN DAYS, all of who will need spay or neuter, dental check-ups and a few who have other health concerns, we are hopeful that you might be able to donate SEVEN DOLLARS to help towards their medical bills.
That is $1 per dachshund, from each donation of $7.
We have 13,000 followers and know that not everyone will see our post or be able to donate, especially this time of year, but a share is just as helpful ❤️
Imagine if we were lucky enough to get 10% of you to donate $7 each. That would amount to $1300 per dachshund, which we hope will more than pay for their vetting while in care with ACDR. You can send an e-transfer to [email protected]

In trying to find the right words to express my gratitude, anything I come up with pales in comparison to the overwhelming support each of you have given throughout 2023. I am humbled by your generosity and commitment to helping ACDR save dachshund & dachshund mixes in need.
