What’s the saying?? When it rains…it pours? I am convinced that “rain” refers to the tears my puppy families have been shedding.

We also say goodbye to Murphy. He passed away November 15 of last year. His family has been devastated.

Murphy will always stand out to me because he was the only one in all the years I was a breeder that had a naturally docked tail! We referred to him as “Tango with the tail” when he was with me.

Murphy became the center of his family very quickly. He not only became the focal point, but he also became the grandkids best buddy. His hooman Mom told me that when her grandson comes over he still says, “I wish Murphy was still here”.

Murphy was sweet, kind and full of happy energy! He was so very loved and cared for. He was his families everything. They will miss his sweet face, his playful energy and his wet kisses! You were a good boy, Murphy! You will be missed! But never forgotten! You have left your family with amazing memories they will always cherish! 💔😢

Another one of our sweet pups have passed away. His family wrote a sweet goodbye for me to post along with some of their favorite pictures. Coach was a huge part of their family and will be greatly missed! Love you Coach!! 💔😢

Written by his hooman mom:

Coach Retroodle Dandy joined the Yegge family in Spokane as a young puppy and was instantly loved by his people "parents" and his young child brothers, Forrest and Elliot.

He traveled with the family everywhere possible: his family bought a trailer so he could come along on long road trips in comfort, a tandem kayak just for him, and even a cabin in
Northeastern Washington where he could run, swim, and explore.

He spent his days napping on the couch, visiting with passersby, and always had at least one daily outing with his people.

Coach didn't feel the need to bark much, as he considered his main "job" to be
companion. This made him a terrible guard dog, but excellent company. He loved to learn, and loved to please, so he was a cinch to train. And his calm, loving demeanor made him excellent company.

Coach was a dog who was liked by all he met. He was a well-known mascot in the neighborhood due to his daily outings, which he seemed to consider as more of a "mingle" with his neighbor friends than for exercise. In fact, these walks were therapeutic to his people, who found peace in the simple joy of walking with their beloved Coachie.

The Yegge family is heartbroken, but so grateful to have shared the last 12 years with Coachie, the best boy ever.

With all the sad news lately of puppies crossing over rainbow bridge, I have been notified of another one.

Helen Malone notified me that her sweet pup, DanDee passed away back in October. DanDee was from my first litter. DanDee and Helen were best friends! Helen and DanDee would go play out in the snow …and it snows a lot in Challis!! It was very hard for Helen to lose her sweet DanDee.

Helen took amazing care of DanDee and was such a great home for her for just over 12 years! You will forever be in my puppy family, Helen. I am so sorry for your loss! ❤️💔

On Tuesday the Rhodenbaugh family had to say goodbye to King. King was from my first litter ever…He would be turning 13 in July.

King was a big, handsome boy who loved his family with his whole heart! He was so very loved and taken care of for nearly 13 years! His family said, “We called him our third child. Brian and Tammy always called him their brother and all who knew him loved him. Many tears were shed in many cities as we said goodbye to our sweet boy.”

I am so sorry for your loss! It saddens many of us to know your hearts are broken. But I know that King was loved so much and he had an amazing life! ❤️💔

On Wednesday, sweet Maverick crossed over the rainbow bridge. He was from Miss Montana’s 2nd litter...so he was 12. He has been the fur-baby to the Froberg family. I remember when Anna would come visit the puppies and hold Maverick (Romeo) and tell me how excited she was to get him! He not only won over the hearts of Anna and her family, but Grandpa was one of Mav’s biggest fans also. This leaves a huge hole in this families hearts! These sweet puppies come into our lives, love us unconditionally, spend their short lives trying to please us…and then when they can no longer be here…they leave a huge hole in our hearts. The Frobergs loved this sweet boy so very much and took exceptional care of him each and every day! You will be missed by so many, Maverick. You were such a good boy!❤️

It is with a very heavy heart that the Howard family said goodbye to sweet Oxford. I’d was from Miss Montana’s 3rd litter and was 10 1/2 years old. It came on suddenly…”yesterday he was just fine” and today “he just couldn’t get back up”. Ox was Mike and Melissa’s first baby before having hooman kids. He was very loved and taken care of! With the addition of kiddos to the pack, Ox was not only a loving pup, but a guardian and a snuggle buddy. He will be greatly missed!

Love you Oxford…you were a good boy! ❤️❤️

Well Gus has found his fur-ever home!! I am so very happy for Gus and his new family! They are perfect for each other.

Even though my heart is now full…I have to be honest with you. I have really struggled lately. I have always had so much pride in how diligent I was at finding the perfect homes for my sweet puppies. And yet…this last litter had more rehoming than all the past litters.

I try to remember…”did I mention they have to train their puppy?”, “did I tell them how much work puppies are?”, did I screen the families with the same due diligence as my past litters?

I struggle to understand how or why someone could give up a puppy. I do understand there are circumstances that happen. And I do understand acknowledging that you cannot give the puppy the home they need. But the sadness and confusion the poor pup goes through breaks my heart.

When a family contacts me to rehome a dog…I deal with the dog that now feels discarded and unwanted. I deal with the dog that has behavioral issues because the owners didn’t have time to teach them. I deal with the dog that hasn’t bonded with a person, or worse yet…has bonded and is untrusting now. I deal with the dog that is desperate to be loved like they deserve.

I have always believed that everything happens for a reason. And this lesson was very hard for me to be patient enough to see the outcome. Poor Gus waited almost 2 years to find his fur-ever family. And he almost ended up living with me and my pack since I was so picky about finding his new home. But he has now found the love and attention he needed, and he has filled the hearts of his new owners!

Please don’t feel this is anything but a reminder to do right by your animals! They deserve the very best from you! They give you unconditional love and support THEIR entire lives…the least we can do is love and care for them the short time we have them! ❤️❤️

Today I t is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Striker. He was in Montana’s litter #2…he would have turn 12 this October. Striker was loved and spoiled by the McDaniels family in Nampa. Pat, Katrina and the kids were such an amazing family for him. They have so many memories of camping, hiking and family time with Striker right by their side. Thank you for loving him all his days and I am so very sorry for your loss. Our doodle family grieves for your loss. 💔😢
