Maude and Stanley are having a nap together because it's just too hot to go outside. Maude is an Angora lop with a lot of fur so we have to make extra sure she stays cool. Stanley, the tiny dwarf rabbit, feels safe and content being Maude's pillow, as they enjoy their peaceful nap.

Rosie the Flemist Giant was very excited to visit the Veganist in Chilliwack yesterday. Rosie was welcomed into the store and enjoyed being in a store where she would be able to eat most of the human food. She saw that they sell vegan cat and dog food and thinks that they should add bunny treats too!
Rosie made many new friends in Chilliwack and got her photo taken a lot. It gave us a great opportunity to talk to people about her and how rabbits make wonderful companions but the are a lifetime commitment and must never be abandoned.
Rosie thinks everyone should vist The Veganist at 45945 Wellington Street in downtown Chilliwack. They have an amazing selection of food for vegans, plant-based people and for people interested in exploring delicious new options and eating healthier.

You never know what toys rabbits will like. Mostly they like things they can rip apart. This mat was popular. Within an hour after this video was taken it was already torn into about ten pieces and that was it for that toy.

Bruce is loving being outside again. This is a rare video where is is not being supervised by Stella. Bruce is a Flemish Giant so he is about three times the size of the average rabbit. His latest claim to infamy was biting the very nice neighbour girl and making her cry. Bruce was rehomed to us from a situation where he was stalking and injuring his previous humans. If you get the chance to meet Bruce, keep your hands away from his mouth!
If you are hearing strange bird sounds in the background, those are our rescue lovebirds who are watching through the window and are jealous that Bruce gets to go outside.

This beautiful rabbit is Rosie. She is a flemish giant we got from a meat breeding farm recently. Yes, Rosie was slated to be on someone's dinner plate. Rosie is a healthy, active, very large girl who loves being outside and loves eating flowers so we make sure she gets a daily supply.
Rosie was actually the rabbit who triggered the seizure of all of our rabbits. Dr. Adrian Walton, being paid by and accompanied by the BC SPCA, came to our home on May 24, 2026 and examined 14 out of our 162 rabbits. The examination was voluntary and we agreed to it because the SPCA said it was an opportunity to get our rabbits examined for free which seemed like a good opportunity.
The SPCA told me they were bringing an "SPCA vet" but when they arrived they had Dr. Walton with them. I don't agree with the way Dr. Walton provides veterinary care and have had many online disagreements with him. He started examining our rabbits. Number 6 was Rosie. I cannot go into detail because this matter is under investigation by an agency outside the BC SPCA but I will provide more details when I can.
I hope that wherever Rosie is right now, she is being taken care of.

On May 26, 2023 the SPCA came to our home and took all of our rabbits, pigeons, guinea pigs and our chicken and rooster. They went into garage where we kept most of our rabbits and closed the doors and failed to turn on the large ventilation fan we use during the day. They kept the doors closed and the fan off for hours after this video was shot
The BC SPCA put our animals into Distress through an act of cruelty. But who do I call?
SPC Carey admits in the documents we received from the BC SPCA that I asked her to give the rabbits ventilation. And what was their justification for seizing our animals? The high ammonia levels they managed to achieve by shutting off airflow to the rabbit room. Their only focus was on justifying their raid on our sanctuary, after the fact. It never should have happened.
This video was shot at 12:12pm and the SPCA had been on scene since 11am with the doors closed. As the temperature rose, and the SPCA Officers started leaving the room complaining about the heat, SPCA SPC Carey decided to do ammonia readings. Even with no ventilation and the room essentially sealed shut she managed to get a reading of 50ppm. This is significantly higher than the levels in the room would ever get, but at 50ppm, still relatively low, showing that the room was clean.
The SPCA endangered our animals. They took them from a place of happiness and safety living in their colonies and spread them out to shelters across the Lower Mainland. They gave many of them to the same vet, Adrian Walton, who helped to trigger the seizure by falsely examining 14 of our rabbits. Dr. Walton is going to make a lot of money from the seizure.
Within a day of receiving our animals, Dr. Walton, had already killed rabbits and our rooster, who was under the active care of an avian vet.
Rosie is a Flemish Giant weighing in at 15 pounds. Before coming to our sanctuary last month she spent her whole life in a small cage. The people who purchased her from a breeder were scared of Rosie because she bit them and when a Flemish Giant bites it can be a painful and bloody experience! She showed aggression because nobody took the time to show her any affection. When they took her out of her cage they didn't even know how to hold her. She showed some aggression when she first came to us but after we spent time with her she has quickly become the most loving, gentle rabbit.
Rosie is still learning to trust her new rabbit family. Initially she would put her head under rabbits approaching her and toss them. It was clear she wasnt trying to hurt them. Unfortunately for Rosie, the other rabbits seemed to enjoy flying through the air and came back to Rosie to be tossed again! As she learns to trust humans, she is learning to trust other rabbits and she has transformed from a scared, angry rabbit always looking for a place to hide, to a fun-loving rabbit who enjoys hopping and jumping and playing with her new friends.
Liam loves bathtime and looks forward to getting wrapped up in a warm towel after his bath. Rabbits know when we are helping them and they patiently put up with us. They know when they are loved and and they return so much love.
Liam, like many rabbits we've rescued from the street and brought to our sanctuary, developed permanent disabilities while desperately trying to survive outside. Liam was a young healthy, loving bunny when his owners dumped him in a park because they didn't want him anymore. Liam is tough so he survived. But he couldn't avoid the parasite that has permanently affected his ability to stand.
