Humane Society of Lebanon County Our Vision Statement

“A humane community that understands and values the ways in which animals enrich our lives.”

The Humane Society of Lebanon County is a nonprofit organization. We rely on contributions from the general public and businesses to help cover operating, medical care and feeding expenses. Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated. We are a member of the Federated Humane Societies Of Pennsylvania. As the only animal welfare organization within Lebanon County we maintain a modern, sanitary

animal shelter that contains dog kennels, cat housing, a small animal room, emergency kennels to receive strays from the police during off duty hours of shelter operation, a dispensary equipped with medical equipment and supplies, a puppy room, a maternity room, plus our office and reception area.

- We receive stray animals from most municipalities within Lebanon County, as well as those surrendered by individual residents of the county who cannot or will not take proper care of their pets.

- We provide shelter, food, and medical treatment for homeless, unwanted, and neglected creatures, and do all we can to ensure their placement into new and good homes.

- We keep accurate and current records of all surrenders and adoptions, and report them to the Pennsylvania Dog Enforcement Bureau. We hold all animals in "Bite Cases" for the police until they are determined to be safe or otherwise.

- We provide emergency services for stray animals and arrange for medical care and treatment when indicated.

🎀🩷Meet Baby Girl!🩷🎀

Baby Girl is a Yorkshire Terrier/Shih Tzu mix that is 3 months old. She recently found her way to us as an owner surrender. Baby Girl needed an emergency surgery for a pr*****ed a**s. She is back from the vet, is recovering from the surgery, and on the hunt for her forever family!🙏🏼

Baby Girl is teeny tiny but SUPER sweet. She loves everyone she meets!❤️Despite any pain she may have endured, she greets all humans with her tiny wagging tail!

This little girl is looking for a foster-to-adopt home that will allow her to comfortably recover. She is currently receiving medications and medicated food that will be provided by the shelter while she is on them. The foster/adopter would need to bring Baby Girl back to the shelter for scheduled vaccine booster appointments and a future spay appointment. Adoption paperwork can be processed after she is spayed. 😁

We wanted to take the time to remind our community that the shelter will be closed Monday, November 11th. Staff and volunteers will be in caring for the animals ❤️🤍💙.

Every day we honor the men, women and service animals of our military forces. We are eternally grateful for their service, as well as their sacrifices.

We have a ✨ GLOW UP✨ to report!

Ameila’s story: Amelia was hit by a car and saved by a good citizen back in October. She needed emergency medical treatment right away. The generosity of our community had a huge impact and helped to pay for her medical care!

Amelia is now on our adoption floor and ready for her forever!💓
