Today we are celebrating Nala‘s 17. Birthday, which we thought we would never see. Last year in April she was diagnosed with terminal cancer (squamous cell carcinoma) under her tongue. In February 2024 we discovered that her cancer only slightly grew. Thanks to the cbd oil her tumor growth has slowed down and we are happy she is still with us today. We discovered through her blood work in February, that she has chronic kidney disease stage 3, we’ve been given her every second day SUC, which is a therapy to improve or maintain quality of life and maintaining the functionality of the kidney. With this specific cancer her life expectancy was only 2-3 months, but we are very grateful that she is still alive one year later to celebrate her 17th birthday. Happy Birthday Nala! We love you! 😻

As you know, a few days ago was Nala's 16th birthday. Unfortunately, a day later we found out that she has been diagnosed with an Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma which is an aggressive cancer growth under her tongue. Since she is a very sensitive and difficult cat to handle, a surgical removal and painful radiation will not be an option for her. Also, there is a high chance for the tumor to regrow rapidly after treatment and all the other negative side effects like tube feeding and the 1-year survival rate is less then 10%, it would be too much stress for her to go through this torture.
As for now, as long as she can eat and drink, we will give her the most love and affection possible.
Plus, we give her daily CBD oil for pets, hoping it will help with the tumor itself by inhibiting its growth and inflammation. Fingers crossed that she will be with us longer than only a few weeks or months.

Happy it’s been pretty quiet here. Still trying to figure out my kidney problems, next week I have an appointment for blood pressure and ultrasound. My creatinine and symmetric dimethylarginine (SDMA) are still elevated since my tooth extraction. Hope to get it under control soon.

*UPDATE* Back home now, had to get a total of 5 teeth pulled due to FORL.
Prayers for this handsome boy please! He will have an tooth extraction tomorrow morning. For sure one tooth has to go, but could be more, they will do an dental xray to make sure not more are effected. Also they will take urine out of his bladder to check several indicators for CNI 🙏🙏🙏

Just a lazy caturday!

It’s been really quiet for a few weeks from us here on Facebook . We had to find out that Luna has stage 2 mild renal azotemia. We’ve been in and out from the vet to check her creatinine levels and we should first try a renal diet for her, at the same time she got really sick and at one point we thought she won’t make it, she had really bad diarrhea and stopped eating. A week later Zeus ended up having the same thing, so it must have been a virus. Both are doing better now and hope we will be more active again on instagram and Facebook. Hope everyone is save and healthy out there!
