As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to:

- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kennel and outdoor areas.
- Engage in playtime, training and exercise activities.
- Administer medication and follow special dietary instructions.
- ⁠Perform basic dog grooming activities such as bathing, drying, brushing & nail trimming.
- ⁠Assist with the check-in and check-out process, ensuring a smooth transition for the dogs and their owners.
- Interact and communicate with pet owners, providing updates on their furry friends and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- ⁠Follow all protocols and guidelines set by the kennel for the safety and welfare of the dogs.
- ⁠Collaborate with other team members to maintain a positive and supportive work environment.

✨ Qualifications:
- Genuine love and passion for dogs AND people.
- Previous experience caring for dogs in a professional kennel or daycare.
- ⁠Knowledge of general dog training principles and methodologies
- Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments, including those with certain behavioral challenges.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs on an ongoing basis, as well as remain physically active throughout your shift.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- ⁠Ability to keep up with a fast paced environment, particularly during check-in & check-out time.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, responsible & trust worthy.
- Ability to work some weekends and flexible shifts between the hours of 6am-10pm.⁠

I usually enjoy our social media and posting about our days here at Mayrich, but this is certainly a post that I wish I wasn’t writing.

Last week, Ashley cut her hand while home on the farm, and it was pretty major, requiring stitches. The cut then became infected resulting in the need for IV antibiotics at the hospital.

Unfortunately, the infection has worsened into the bone. I will spare the details of what will be required to treat the infection, but it involves intervention that will take place over the next several weeks at the hospital. It’s also likely that she will be away for the next few months while she takes time to heal and recover.

If you have grooms or training classes scheduled with Ashley, we will be in touch with you this coming week with more details regarding cancellations/rescheduling, or rebooking with myself, (Meagan), or Marissa. I will be available to step in and finish all of Ashley’s classes for her, but we will also have other options available for students.

There will be no disruption to our boarding or daycare services, however as Ashley is our social media guru, we may be delayed and more sporadic in our posting.

Ashley has been by my side here at Mayrich for over ten years. She is an integral part of this business and she is so much more than a teammate or coworker. She is a beloved friend and what both Marissa and myself consider to be part of our family.

I have been extremely fortunate to have someone like Ashley in my life over the years while building this small business and it wouldn’t be where it is without her. She loves each and every one of you and your dogs more than words can say. She puts so much care and effort into caring for these animals every single day. We will miss her tremendously while she’s away and we want her to focus on herself and her healing during this time.

I hope that you will all keep her in your thoughts and prayers over the next few months. I know that she will be missing you all tremendously. -Meagan
