Meet Rob & Ghyll | Logan Whistles Feature 01

Rob is a search and rescue dog handler working in the mountains of England with his newest trainee, Ghyll — a quick, sharp collie learning the ropes of life-saving work.

Working in harsh conditions, at distance, in wind and weather — Rob needed a whistle that could cut through it all, be clearly heard, and get a swift, reliable response.

That’s exactly why our late father & grandfather, Harford Logan, designed the Logan Turbo.
Living and farming at Lagnaha in the Scottish Highlands, he often worked above the cloud line, at times in fog, wind and driving rain — needing a whistle that was capable of carrying, cutting through the noise and distance, and keeping both himself and his dogs safe.

The Turbo was created for handlers like Rob. And stories like this are exactly why we continue to make it.

Before there was a brand, there was just Harford - a farmer in County Down, watching how hunting dogs responded to simple lip whistles.

That quiet spark of inspiration led him to craft his very first whistle for working with his sheepdogs.

Fast forward more than 60 years, and Logan Whistles is still proudly family-run. We’re a small team, continuing what Harford started - designing and making each whistle with care, for handlers, dog lovers, and everyday adventurers all over the world.

They are crafted with care using the highest quality materials, precision milled from a solid piece of metal to avoid joins or rivets and then hand finished to produce the very best sound.
