***BUBBA UPDATE***

Unfortunately we do not come to you guys with a happy update on sweet Bubba (10 year old male from OKC). Earlier this morning we had to make the hard decision to humanely euthanize him as he very rapidly started to decline. We had such optimism for him as the first few days out of the shelter seemed extremely promising for him! While he did need a little help up, he started asking to go outside, eagerly ate food and treats, and soaked up all the love he could get!! Unfortunately things quickly took a turn for the worse and he started rapidly declining. He refused to get up, started defecating on himself, didn’t want to eat, could barely hold his head up to drink water, and even when carried outside he wouldn’t move and laid where he was placed.

We made an urgent call into one of the wonderful vets we use and unfortunately the doctor confirmed what we had hoped wasn’t going to be the case. The vet stated due to his age and all the symptoms he was experiencing, evening doing testing with his age his prognosis was extremely grim. With a broken heart we decided it was the kindest to end the suffering he was experiencing. We were concerned even if we could figure out what was going on we would be sacrificing his quality of life for quantity, and that would not be fair of us to do to him. We will forever be grateful that he did not die alone in a shelter that was scary, loud, and cold. He knew love for what little time he was with us and knew HE MATTERED! 😭💔🥺

🩵 MEET HOSS! 🩵
Hoss is a 3 year old male Rottweiler! He is also cute as can be! Hoss is neutered, UTD on his shots and currently going through heartworm treatment. Hoss was brought into the HSMSC on 1/7 by a local vet clinic after he had been abandoned there. He has a history of being around chickens and horses thanks to the doctor at the vet clinic! Hoss is seriously great!! He isnt dog reactive at all his best friends at the shelter are Quincy (male) and Tova (female). He keeps a clean kennel and doesn't destroy things in his kennel. He is playful and personable. He walks well on leash. Hoss is a sweetheart that loves to give hugs and receive pets❣️
Unfortunately, he has not received any adoption attention. As we all know, a shelter environment is very stressful on any animal. So we are posting in hopes someone will open up their home and heart to this boy so he can thrive in a comforting environment.

UPDATE!!! Kylo was ADOPTED! 💙
We still need to find a home for Kehlani!!! ‼️

🐾 We are posting on behalf of Muskingum County K9 Adoption Center in Zanesville Ohio. They have two beautiful Rotts that need a home! 🏠

💙 KYLO is a 3 year old handsome male Rottweiler! He is weighing in at roughly 72lbs. He is a sweet friendly boy who desperately needs a home! He needs a slow introduction when it comes to other dogs but he would be fine with a dog around his size. He keeps his kennel extremely clean and would be a great dog to add to your family!

🩷 KEHLANI is gorgeous 3 year old female Rottweiler. She is spayed, heartworm negative but lyme positive. Which she is getting treated for. She would do well with dogs around her size. She also keeps a clean kennel and would love to be able to have a place to call home.

Neither dog is handing the kennel environment very well and unfortunately neither have had any interest at the shelter. 🥺

We are in DESPERATE need of fosters in TEXAS ANYWHERE!!! We have been contacted by numerous shelters all over Texas pleading with us to help save good loving rotties that are at critical risk of euthanasia! The shelter employees are begging us to help because they don’t want to keep seeing good adoptable dogs die daily! 😭😭😭

We have been asked to help at least THREE DIFFERENT FEMALES AND ONE MALE that are all dog friendly! We urgently need to find foster homes to help save these sweet souls!! They are all younger adults, none over the age of 4. As of right now we are not releasing any further info about these dogs until we can hopefully secure a foster home and send in the tags needed to save these dogs, to ensure that they do not fall into the wrong hands. ‼️URGENT FOSTER NEEDED‼️

Who remembers Daemon? 🐾 we posted him back in January! Due to a recent change with Daemons family he is in desperate need of a place to go! He is currently located in Florida but family is willing to travel as far as VA to help this boy out!

Daemon is a handsome 1 year old purebred German Rottweiler. He is good with most female dogs! He’s also very gentle with children! He can absolutely not be with a large male/dominant dogs. He needs a loving home with someone who will keep him stimulated and keep him polished in his training. He attended an 8 week board and train program at Unleash Fido in Jacksonville, FL and graduated with flying colors. He has exceptional recall skills, leash etiquette, and obedience. He’s also crate trained. He loves to work for treats. He’s a huge cuddle bug and extremely loving. He’s fully vaccinated with monthly heart worm and flea/tick prevention, heart worm negative, microchipped, and neutered. He’s a truly exceptional good boy.

Meet Bandit 💙

We are posting on behalf of Lake humane society located in Mentor Ohio!

Bandit is a young 3 year old male that has been sitting in the shelter since August 2024. He has had little to no interest 🥹 This gentle giant loves to play and will never turn down back scratches or a chance to snuggle with his humans on the couch. He is loyal, smart, and easy to fall for. He does prefer to be the only dog, so he can lavish his humans with his undeniable charm. He has met a few dogs at the shelter and he did fine but did not want much to do with them after meeting. You won't be able to find a better boy than Bandit! He is an amazing dog and very affectionate. He is UTD on vaccines as well as neutered.

The shelter will help with transportation for this boy even out of state if needed!!!

R.E.A.L. Rott Rescue will be welcoming Miss Betty from one of our shelter partners in Corsicana Texas. She is a stunning 5 year old German Shepherd who enjoys the company of dogs, cats and kids. She will be heading up North as soon as she completes HW treatment. We are hoping to transition her from her current foster home directly to an adopter. She will likely arrive in early May. Please welcome gorgeous little Faye to REAL! 🥰♥️

Today we worked under an extreme time crunch to get this little girl safe! She was set for euthanasia today at 4 pm in Grand Prairie, TX. Unfortunately for some reason Faye has been passed up at the shelter for quite some time (at shelter since 11/9!) and started to decline in the kennel environment. The shelter and its staff have worked hard to try to get her out of the shelter and into a home with no luck…we are so beyond grateful to be able to help Feya and the shelter staff that care so much about her! 💗

Feya is estimated to be around 2 years of age and LOVES people and dogs. As you can see in the photos this little girl loves to play play play!!! 🎾 She is a very smart girl that knows sit and down already, and is so polite she will offer either before you throw the ball for her! 😍 She is currently in a temporary foster in the Dallas area until she makes her way to Ohio. 💙⭐️UPDATE ON RIP ⭐️💙 We had an amazing family apply to foster this sweet boy. They went to go meet him today at the shelter with their dog and he did amazing! He said it could not have gone better. He said the dogs got along fabulously! They are excited to start their journey fostering this boy and we are so excited this boy gets a second chance in life! 🐾

He is not in the best shape and needs a kind soul to help him! He is reported to be around 10 years old. Staff has had no issues with petting him and giving him treats.

Meet Rip a one year old male Rottweiler in Franklin Tennessee. This handsome guy is becoming stressed in his kennel at the shelter. He does great with other dogs and is even used as an example in their play groups. He can be a little nervous around people at first, but understandably is under a lot of stress. He is said to be really sweet and has a ton of potential.

Please help us save this young boy! We know he will be an amazing dog to someone who allows him time to decompress and let him know he is safe!

Meet Barley! 🐾 Located in Pittsburgh PA! Recently Barleys parents have had to make a hard decision to rehome Barley due to him and his brother not getting along anymore. Barley is a 4-year-old mixed breed with a big heart and an even bigger love for adventure! He’s a true athlete who enjoys running, hunting, and playing fetch. His playful energy makes him a perfect match for an active owner who loves the outdoors.
He’s a smart boy too—he knows how to sit, lay down, and stay. And while he might have a bit of a mischievous side he’s also a big cuddle bug who adores treats and snuggles.
Barley is great with kids all ages❣️While he doesn’t always get along well with his brother dog, he’ll thrive as the only pet in the home or possibly do well with a female dog or a not so dominant male. Barley needs someone who can give him comfort and a little extra love when there is a thunderstorm. 🌩️
