Day 2 of our 100 cat weekend with Lake Norman Lucky Cat and Lucky Cats of Kinston was a huge success and may go down in the history books of “OMG, another female?”

We spayed 76 female cats in 2 days and 24 male cats. A huge impact was made in just 48 hours of spay and neuter.

This equates to:

• In 1 year: We prevented 1,140 kittens from being born.
• In 7 years: We prevented up to 380,000 cats from being born (including future generations).

We still have a long way to go to even see the effects of all the surgeries we are performing but it does not affect our spirits in knowing we really are making a difference. We could not do this without our village of volunteers who have become our very close friends.

Tonight we will sleep very well.

It’s our third trip to Kinston for our “100 cats in a weekend” endeavor with Lucky Cats of Kinston and Lake Norman Lucky Cat

It was an early morning but we ended the day with 38 friendly cats. Tomorrow we will do 62 TNR!

We even had time for some team bonding over margaritas!

It’s Veterinary Appreciation Day and boy did we feel appreciated! The TNR kitties behaved, the Rowan Neuter Scooter volunteers were amazing, as usual, and Lorie Kluttz Corriher dropped off Chic-Fil-A for lunch!

We have the best village and are willing to start a debate on how superior our village is!

Where do we begin? It all started 1 year ago today. We celebrated with all of our partners at Rescue Ranch today.

5300 surgeries in 1 year! 5000 of those being cats! 15 counties covered in North Carolina and over 16,000 miles traveled.

Every host rescue, shelter or organization was honored with a plaque of how many surgeries and litters they prevented in a year.

It takes a village. Community Pets would not exist without the hard work and dedication of the rescues, volunteers, and shelters that host us and the generous donors who believe in what we do.

Everyone in attendance shares the same goal, mission and heart for change in the animal welfare world.

Thank you to The Palmetto Market the personalized gifts, Sapphire Cookie Company for the incredible cookies, Kona Ice who provided a much needed cold treat in the heat and TheTruk catering for the delicious food!

Dr. Welch was also honored by her medical team and rescues for her heart and passion for fixing the overpopulation crisis we are.

Did we mention we all work together as one unit so we can continue to make a difference? Everyone is celebrating each other today. Well deserved party for all!

On to year number 2!

It’s kitten season! 🐾 Today we spayed and neutered 38 kittens at Piedmont Animal Rescue - PAR—tiny, adorable, and full of potential. But as much as we love having kittens on the truck, their presence is a sign of a much bigger issue: overpopulation.

These babies came from feral moms or were dropped off in a box on the porch of a rescue. We can do better. We have to do better.

The real solution? Find and fix the moms and dads still out there. Saving kittens is good—but preventing them from being born into hardship is even better.

If you’re feeding outdoor cats, if strays frequent your home, spay and neuter them. And please, fix your own pets too.

Turning a blind eye is apathy—and that’s not okay.
Let’s be the solution. 💪❤️

Please adopt these precious kittens!!!

Another full house in Rowan with our Rowan Neuter Scooter partners! 34 dogs and cats spayed and neutered today.

Thank you to the community for doing your part. It seems insignificant, but to the lives of these pets, it’s everything.

Well done Rowan!

It was definitely more rain than shine today for 27 TNR kitties through Friends of Feral Felines

We are so thankful for all the hard work these volunteers put in today cleaning traps, making sure the kitties had a warm and dry spot to recover and loving on them in recovery.

And as always a huge thank you to Pet Supermarket for allowing us to recover our kitties in a small space in the store.

We could not do this without you!
