Twelve years ago, I was laid off from Corporate America and transport become my next business venture. Three vans, 1.2 million miles, and some unknown thousand number of dogs (and cats!), Ramblin' Rose (the van) has made her twilight cruise yesterday. Both she & I retired from transport [*** I did not retire from rescue, pet sitting or my municipal position ***] I could thank dozens of people, co-pilots, dog walkers, rescue partners, overnight accommodations -- but the list is really long and I would probably forget someone and feel badly.
The van reached 462,000 miles yesterday – and while I know she's got more life in her, continuing at the pace we've been going is not an option (nor is purchasing a new $60,000 van). We will consider dedicated transports (your animals, your locations, flat rate) on a case-by-case basis, and I can always help bring dogs from CT/NY/NJ to NH, if I'm already going for my own.

I want to thank you ALL for your trust, support and commitment to homeless animals. We will always be here to "save the next one".

Until then... in the words of Jimmy Buffett "There's just too much to see waiting in front of me and I know I can't go wrong..."

Dec 29/30 I appreciate that it's four weeks out, but we are CONSIDERING a Macon (probably) or Columbus GA transport (that won't include Alabama/Mississippi) -- it will take a minimum of 20 dogs to do this run. The route at this time is undefined but could include Atlanta or Athens GA and Hartwell GA. DEDICATED TRANSPORTS and halfway partnerships

We have the ability to do a dedicated transport during November 1-9 -- your locations, your dogs, flat rate. We are hoping to work with a group that can transport from Texas and meet in Knoxville TN (half way) to New England in the future... in case you know anybody looking. It has to be financially viable for all involved.

Don't scroll through and come up with reasons you don't want one or two -- PICK ONE OR TWO and save a life.
They have more than 500 dogs in their shelter program and 48 ADOPTION KENNELS (meaning most of these guys get out every day with volunteers but never get to see the public because there are only 48 kennels up front). There are some really good dogs here.

No, there are no small fluffies. There are no shih tsu puppies. And no, they are not all pitbulls (most of them aren't bully at all). There MAY BE some puppies ready for the March 23 trip, BUT they will be 8 wks old (not 12 or 16 -- We can find those elsewhere, just ask!)

The transport will run from Dallas through ARK/TN/VA/MD/PA/NJ/ and either Albany or CT, depending on where the dogs get off - and into Keene/Concord, NH. We need only 12 dogs to make this happen. Two dogs -- that's all we're asking of each of you!

There are good dogs here. One or two dogs -- means one or two lives. They have videos, cat tests, and more!!!!
