Fundraiser for the golden oldies pups!

Scratch off fundraiser!!! Thanks to some wonderful supporters, we have $300 worth of scratch off tickets to raffle off! We have a few surgeries coming up; Sweet old man Tully needs his painful eye removed ($800), Angel has an abscessed tooth that needs to be come out ($500), plus addressing the needs of the two new dogs adds up quickly.

Happening right now in New Jersey! The geese are set to be killed any day now- this is tragic!

Though Peapack-Gladstone has contracted with the USDA to control the geese at Liberty Park, geese advocates continued to lobby the borough council.

Meet our Dog of the week... SCOOBY! Scooby is a neutered male estimated to be around 2 years old. We believe he is a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. He’s a high energy dog that’s very playful and loves being around people. Scooby was dropped off as a stray at Montgomery County SPCA, so we can’t say for sure, but we believe that he’s housetrained because he keeps his kennel very clean. He also had positive dog meets with a male and a female dog, so we believe him to be dog friendly. Scooby is a strong dog that would do great with some leash training. This boy has a great personality, and he is waiting for his forever home at the Montgomery County SPCA’s Conshohocken location. Meet our Dog of the Week.. MAXIM! Maxim was at a Philly shelter with a tail injury when we found him. We were able to take care of his amputation and get him healed up. He has the most ADORABLE nub. He is about 2 years old, friendly with everyone he meets- both human & dog! Maxim has done well at events, great car passenger and excellent sunbather. Kyle is so handsome!

UPDATE- Kyle was adopted!

This is Kyle and if he could talk, he would have one heck of a story to tell. Kyle was a victim of animal neglect, he was forced to live in a filthy home with over 50 other cats, and he was denied medical care. Kyle and his feline siblings were removed from this situation by one of our Humane Officers due to the poor conditions and ownership was relinquished to the MCSPCA. Kyle was free at last, but his story did not end there, it was just the beginning. Kyle was suffering from a severe, untreated upper respiratory infection, and it took months for our veterinary team to nurse him back to health. Now he is healthy enough to find a new home, but he has not had any luck. Kyle is an 8-year-old neutered male with a very unique black spot. He is friendly, but also independent. Kyle is litterbox trained, good with other cats, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and he is FELV/FIV negative. We had a fabulous time at the Yappy Hour hosted by the Museum of Illusions - Philly tonight. They graciously donated half of the proceeds from the ticket sales to Philadoptables! We met so many adorable pups tonight!

This is Sylvester. Sylvester is a community cat who was having issues eating and seemed to be in pain. With the help of his human friends, he was able to see a vet and have some rotten teeth removed. We are thankful we were able to cover the vet expense to help Sylvester feel better! Community cats don't necessarily have an owner but the lucky ones do have advocates and special people who get to know them and can tell if something is wrong with them. To those people, we say thank you! ♥️

It is hard to look at sweet Zoey- her condition is heartbreaking and she has been suffering with a ruptured mammary mass. We saw her and immediately pledged funds toward her care to the rescue partner who pulls her to safety. Our friends at Senior Dog Haven & Hospice, Inc. swooped in and Zoey is riding to the vet right now. Please drop them a few dollars if you can! https://seniordoghaven.org/ways-to-help/

After being in rescue so long, not much shocks us. We see so much heartbreak, it almost becomes the norm.
Today, we are shocked. This sweet girl was time stamped at a local shelter. Our volunteer immediately went to get her and was appalled.
She has a huge ruptured infected mass that is so graphic and awful we can’t even show you.
She is terribly matted. She smells so awful. This did not happen overnight. Sweet little Zoey has been suffering for a long time.
We don’t even want to think about what she’s been through.
She is going straight to our vet partners at East Bradford Vet so they can figure out what is going on, and how we can help her.

Zoey, you don’t know it yet, but your new life is starting today.

Dogs like Zoey is why we have been doing this for 12 years, and why we need your support so very much.
Special thanks to Philadoptables for donating towards her care and East Bradford Veterinary Hospital for always saying “yes” when we reach out for help with these pups.

He is 24 pounds, with long legs, sweet and quiet, and good with other dogs.

Currently, we have over 250 animals searching for their forever homes, far exceeding our capacity. 😓

If we don’t move some of our animals out we will have to make more difficult decisions. 😞 that means dogs who don’t have behavioral or medical issues are euthanized simply because we have nowhere to put them and care for them.

Meet our Dog of the Week... AARON! This pup is approximately 2 years old but still has energy like a puppy! Aaron was taken to the city shelter after being found squatting in a house all alone! Aaron loves all people and would do well in a home with older kids due to his playful and energetic nature. Today was our spring shelter cleanup and boy was it a gorgeous day to be outside. We had a great crew of volunteers including a group from Wells Fargo ! Some of the things we did were landscaping, spray painting signs, installing a new sign by the front door, cleaning, installing pergola covers, dog bed repair, cleaning out the kitty shed in the back, picking up trash, socializing the cuties in the critter room, making a gazillion dog treats and cat toys and more. Much thanks to ACCT Philly staff member Nina who made us feel so welcome! To everyone that joined us this morning- you rock! Thanks so much for helping Philly's homeless animals! 😻🐕💕
