*GUARDIANSHIP OPPORTUNITY*

THIS IS JUDE/JED!
we never really got to post about him as we had a guardianship arranged before he had time to stay with us. He has been in the program for a year and is 5 years old. He is a BIG BOY! from his last weigh-in, he came to 12 pounds. He is half a mini/half standard but definitely leans more to the standard size. He may be heavier now as he has put on some weight...

He is looking for a short-term GUARDIANSHIP as 2024 will be his last year with only 2 breedings planned before retiring. His current guardianship unfortunately can no longer have him as they are away too often.

He is 100% a cuddle bug, velcro dog. He will follow you everywhere! I mean it... careful turning around and walking with this guy as he will be right at your feet and on his back, demanding your affection. He is possibly the friendliest dog we have in our program, loves everyone, and could let you do anything to him. The kids included, haha

Now that I've gone over how great he is and all his pros , I must go over his con. Though this is not always an issue with unaltered males, He has a big problem with marking. This may not be an issue if your someone who has the time to kennel train him and be able to monitor him when he is spending time in your home. I haven't had the opportunity to witness it myself but apparently, he will mark on anything and it's a significant amount (in mass) but again, this may be something he can be trained out of or possibly diminished with the right family who can put in the time to properly monitor him and correct his negative habits.

There is a good chance this habit will go away once he is retired and neutered! So if you're considering giving an older dachshund a home and being available for him during the day, you might find the perfect companion in this guy.
