All Dogs Go To Kevin LLC Training for the life you lead. The ADGTK way

The ADGTK way is the way of the dog. It’s training that’s in tune with the way a dog learns and at their pace.
(293)

We structure our training thoroughly. We break everything down, step-by-step, to break through the human-dog communication barrier. Your dog becomes super clear about the behavior that is expected and knows it will be the most rewarding. It’s the smart route to a sociable, well-mannered dog that is a pleasure for anyone to be around. We don’t work on trial and error. Our methods are drawn from a r

igorous study of dog behavior. We know how to motivate, reinforce and reward so there’s no need for harshness or dominance and you get results. It’s important to us, too, to share the ‘why’ of our training approach as well as the ‘how’ so that you can have confidence we’re doing the best for you and your dog for the long term. After every ADGTK program, you’ll have a foundation of great skills yourself that you can apply to all the different situations, environments and adventures you’ll encounter in your lives together. The ADGTK way can
Fast track basic obedience and manners with fun group classes or intensive day training
Give puppies the right start for a confident life
Build great social skills out and about in the world so your dog is welcome wherever you go
Tackle behavior problems such as lunging and barking at other dogs on leash or at gates and fences, jumping up at guests, over exuberance with other dogs on walks, leash pulling, food or object guarding

Why ADGTK? Designed around the way dogs learn for efficient training
Smart, structured plans to take away the frustration of stalled progress
Positive, rewarding methods to motivate and make training fun for you and your dog.

New Blog Post: Why Perfection Is Unrealistic

Some pet parents want their dog to respond 100% of the time. When perspective clients reach out, we let them know that we can get their dog to respond most of the time. (Like 90% of the time.) There are so many factors that go into all. The biggest factor is that we're dealing with a living thing that follows the rules of behavior. (If something works, they'll continue to do it and if something doesn't work they'll stop doing it.)

Instead of searching for perfection, just do your best to set your dog and yourself up for success.

Happy Thanksgiving!

1. Be sure to exercise your dog before company arrive, before you bring them with you to someone's house or before you leave them home alone.

2. Have a leash and treats handy.

3. If you cannot keep an eye on your dog, play it safe and put them in a safe place with something to do. This will prevent accidental door bolting and eating of unsafe foods.

Waiting for your dog to calm down will likely lead to less jumping and will decrease the chances of urination.

Give your dog something to do like a stuffed Kong or special chew. This will decrease frustration and frustration related behaviors.

New Blog Post: Try Not To Compare Your Dog To Others

Every dog has some awesome characteristics. It's important to remember those. Especially when you're seeing other dogs do things you wish your dog could do. And if there are certain things you wish your dog could do, consider training and management.

Happy Halloween!

Here are some things to consider:

1. Only include your dog if you know your dog will thoroughly enjoy it. (Remember, many dogs will be overwhelmed by this sort of holiday.)

2. Avoid putting costumes on your dog if it's going to make them uncomfortable. (Feeling uncomfortable in a costume could be a stressor at a time where many other stressors may appear.)

3. Consider sitting outside to pass out candy while leaving your dog inside with something to occupy them. Many dogs aren't fans of strangers appearing. On a day like today, it could be very overwhelming to see so many strangers, especially in costumes.

4. Watch for signs of stress. If your dog is panting, yawning, turning away from people, licking their lips or actively avoiding being touched, you'll want to get them back to a comfortable place.

5. Keep candy completely out of reach. It's probably a safe assumption that candy tastes good to dogs as well.

Have fun!
