Did a thing today☺️
Welcome to the family Tia! We’re so happy you’re here 🩵🐕
Saturday training with these sleepy creatures!
Maui had his 3rd puppy session to talk about some behaviors that have crept up since letting structure slide a bit 😉
A Behavioral Assessment for Nootka who has some reactivity that his owner wants to nip so we’re working on crating and advocating for his space on walks.
Session 2 for Charlie who has progressed by leaps and bounds thanks to crating and everyone in the family practicing Follow the Leader before walks!
Happy Saturday 🩵🐕

Building connection is my specialty!
🩵🐕
Let me guide you in building a connection with other dogs so you can work on building a a better connection with your own.
⭐️Assess energy
⭐️Build connection one on one with a dog you’ve never met
⭐️Observe balanced pack socialization + mental stimulation
⭐️Provide direction + correction hands on with the pack
Limited Thursdays available through the summer so don’t delay!
Holly joined us for our pack walk today and was definitely surprised by how chill her dog Bernie is with me and the pack.
Bernie likes to dig in her garden, run away when she calls him and not give up the chuck it ball during play but they have come a long way since he was redecorating her laundry room!
Why do you think Bernie is so different for me than his mom? 🩵🐕🌲☀️
Tuesday’s Soggy Dog Club🩵🐕🌲☔️
After yesterday’s 19 hour travel day of airports and flight delays resulting in a missed connection and Westjet offering me a 7.5 hour layover for my final 25 minute flight, I bought a whole new ticket so I could actually get home and not have to crash on my brother’s couch. I’m happy to be home🩵🐕
We’re closed this week while I travel to Ontario to shadow, none other than, Liz Foley 🩵🐕
I am so looking forward to continuing to learn from this amazing badass woman!
Wednesdays don’t get much better!

Tuesday Tip:
Shaping the behaviors we want takes time and consistency.
This means addressing problem behaviors and rewarding good behaviors to help guide our dogs through life with us.
What we ignore, we allow.
🩵🐕🌲☀️
(Yes, there were 15 dogs in today’s pack💪🏻💥☺️)
Something that has come up a few times this week in conversation…
Are you believable?
Does your dog TRUST you to lead them?
Does your dog RESPECT your rules and boundaries because they know that you will hold them accountable?
Are you rewarding undesirable behaviors by giving AFFECTION at the wrong time or just too much affection in general?
Leading our dogs and providing boundaries takes the stress off the dog so they can relax and enjoy themselves.
Last week I gave a meaningful correction to one of my Thursday dogs who was notorious for pushing boundaries, getting in other dog’s and human’s personal space and just being a pest.
Following that we had the best 3 pack walks together because I finally got through to him that he isn’t responsible for making the rules, I am. He was finally able to relax and enjoy himself instead of being overstimulated and pushy.
Happy Friday! Go set some boundaries! 🩵🐕🌲☀️
I had a big long post written and then accidentally deleted it so group pic for the win! 😅
🩵🐕🌲
We don’t always do a group picture but when we do, we nail it 🩵🐕🌲

Give and take during play 😍 I love watching these two building a connection. Tia has been part of the family for 3 weeks and she’s learned as much from Juno as she has from me 🩵🐕
See all those swishy tails, relaxed bodies, happy faces? 🐶 It’s not because I lavish them with affection. 🩵🩵🩵 It’s not because I funnel treats down their throats. 🍪🍭🍫 Its not because I let them run wild. 🐺 It’s because they know I’m their leader, they know I’ve got them covered, they know I’m fulfilling their needs as a dog, they know I’m making the decisions and keeping them safe so they don’t have to worry about it. And they know I will hold them accountable like any Pack Leader/Parent would. 🩵🐕☀️🌲
We’re back in another heat wave so that means lots of cool down time at the lake for all of us 🩵🐕☀️🌊
Dogs being able to chill together is a far more valuable skill than dogs only knowing how to play together. Why? Dogs that only know excitement around other dogs get in over their heads because an excited mind can’t read body language or energy. A calm dog can use its nose, read energy, see the changes in body language that indicate a dog does or does not want to engage in play. Teaching dogs to be calm in a pack allows even dog reactive dogs to have a space to be a dog. Pop Quiz: How many dogs in today’s pack do you think are dog reactive?
Tia has been part of our family for a whole week and we love her so much! 🥰❤️ A little background on this sweet girl: ⭐️A street pup picked up in Tijuana ⭐️She’s 7-8 months old according to the rescue we adopted her from. ⭐️Her social skills are top notch! She is calm with people, understands dogs and her hierarchy in the pack. ⭐️She loves to play and wants nothing more than to run like the wind ⭐️She sleeps all night in her crate This week we have been working on long line follow, crating during the day, place and long line in the house so that she understands the rules and boundaries to set her up for success. I know from experience with Juno that being lax in the beginning leads to far more work later on and I’m not making that mistake again 😅 Do you have a puppy/rescue or are thinking of getting one? Want help? Let me know 🩵🐕
We called this the “Spicy” Community Pack Walk 😂 because 3/4 of the dogs are working through reactivity! Nice work team 🩵🐕🤩
Did you know it’s possible to throw sticks for dogs without them losing their marbles? Did you know, the more you throw sticks for your dog when they are barking, whining and otherwise demanding, the more annoying that behavior will become? I only throw sticks for the goodest of dogs 🩵🐕☀️🌊
Just another example of healthy socialization skills. Calm dogs can process things and make decisions like: these people mean no harm, they’re in social zone, no need for alarm. Once guy in the kayak decided he wanted a closer look well…Sadie gave him the what for with her big dog bark. 🩵🐕🌊☀️
Dogs need more rest than you think and they just aren’t getting quality decompression😴 They don’t need more stimulation, more interacting, more enrichment activities. The world is stimulating enough. Harvey struggles to relax, he’s jumpy and excitable; always waiting for the next move. He has been here since Saturday afternoon and this is the first time I’ve seen him fully relax on his side. This is with the help of his e collar and practicing settling in the crate, downs and downs with distraction. 🩵🐕
