Clovers favourite thing is to surf the sheep 🤣
What is this!? 🌞 Could it be......SPRING!!!!??? 👀🤩
When one comes running up to you saying "help, she's bullying me" but you've seen the whole thing and know who started it 🤣
Clover 🍀 (because she was so lucky) has settled in well. Her gapeworm has been treated and she's now mixing with the mini flock at the stables during the day.
She's looking a lot better in herself and getting some more colour in her comb ☺️

First day in the big paddock 😎 #babygoats #rescuegoats #animalsanctuary #farmsanctuary #adventure #friendsnotfood #vegan
Why did the chicken cross the road...?
As the sanctuary mums car was approaching and she wanted a lift to her happy ever after 🥰🐔
Not the drive back from the shops I was expecting 😅 Luckiest chicken ever!
The only ones not having a crap time in this rubbish weather are the ducks 🦆😅
Here are the new arrivals from last week having their first explore of the bird paddock and a wee dip in the pond ☺️

The geese are in their isolation enclosure for the next wee while, we'll complete health checks and let them gradually get to know the others.
They did well their first night, eating and drinking which is always a good sign. Other birds that were rescued from this place previously were riddled with mites so we've treated them for that straight away.
The goose that can see is being extremely protective of his blind pal so we're keeping our distance for now to avoid stressing them out and we'll build some trust slowly 🤞🏼💚
Chicks had their first few hours outside today in the isolated run at the stables. Now their feathers are coming through and they're a bit bigger we want to get them used to the outdoors where they'll eventually be living.
For now it will just be a few hours a day built up to a full day and still sleeping in the house 🐥
It's what you've all been waiting for......🥁
Meet & Greet dates! 🙌🥳
We've been slow announcing available dates due to it being such a long wet winter and the ground hasn't had a chance to dry up yet. So we won't be doing any dates in April (other than private tours) but we have two dates in May to offer you 😊
Saturday 10.30-12pm 4th May
Sunday 10.30-12pm 26th May
To book, just get in touch via email or message with your name and group size. Meet & Greets are donation based, suggested donation is £10 per person.
We hope to see you all soon and appreciate your patience waiting for MG dates 🙏🏽💚
We had the vet out today doing the routine copper bolus for all the goats and she gave us the news we've been anxiously waiting for....blood results from the lab!
After Bramble died the vet who did the autopsy got a second opinion and was concerned he may have had MV; a fatal disease that's highly transmittable. We were beside ourselves at the thought of all our sheep having that fate. Although nobody was showing any symptoms it was possible one of the newer sheep could have brought it in so we had them all tested. It's been an excruciating two week wait, for us and the team awaiting the results, the only way to get through it was denial as I couldn't bare the thought of the bloods being positive.
But today we got the news that all of them are negative!! 🥳🥳🥳🙌🙌🙌 I can't even put into words the joy and relief we are all feeling. The best news ever, feel we can breath again and a huge weight is lifted.
We didn't want to share all this at the time and worry everyone unnecessarily, we wanted to wait until we had the results. But so over the moon to give you this news! 🥰🐑❤️
New arrivals today, 4 male call ducks 🦆
Sadly in springtime there is a lot of rehoming of male ducks and chickens due to hormonal fighting.
It's therefore not the ideal time to introduce new members to the flock but when the alternative is that they'll be killed, we'll make it work and give them the happiest forever home 💚
Not as easy as it looks 😅
These two 🥰 #babygoats #rescuegoats #animalsanctuary #friendsnotfood

New arrivals yesterday from another irresponsible school hatching project 🐣
These projects are cruel, irresponsible and teaching children all the wrong lessons! Bringing a life into the world only to abandon them - not exactly teaching children compassion and responsibility!
Aside from the fact these poor chicks have to be handled numerous times, passed around like an object, they are then sent back to the farmer if nobody adopts them and we all know what happens then. The females will be used for their eggs until they slow in production (around 18 months old) and then slaughtered and the males won't get to live anywhere near that long. Most male chicks born in the egg industry are slaughtered when just wee chicks. Best case scenario is they are allowed to mature a year or so and then sent to slaughter!
Also, can you imagine the stress they must feel being born alone. Minutes old and there's no comfort and security from their mum. Then throw in excited screaming kids!
It's disgraceful, irresponsible and such an out dated teaching 'tool'. Schools need to be stopped! There are so many resources now it's unnecessary. There are 3D models of the different stages, you could take them through that and make it interactive and then at the end of the project take them to an animal sanctuary!
If you are a parent speak up and tell your child's school/nursery you don't want them doing this. There is a template letter I believe was made by an animal rights organisation, I'll find it and put it on our website so you can download and send to the school.
🙏🏼💚
