Good Morning Everyone! I hope you are all doing well.
Some of you may know, some of you may not but as this year gets off to a busy start I wanted to take a moment to fill yall in on my life lately.
I have not one but two other jobs. I took on these in an effort to keep my grooming prices as affordable as I could for my clients! As life has gotten more expensive as a single gal, I needed to take on some extra work to make ends meet.
Dont worry I have no plans to hang up my shears or clippers anytime soon. Grooming is something I love to do and I will keep doing it as long as I am physically able to do so. I adore each and every one of my clients and Ill keep working just as hard for you as I always have.
But I said all of this to say, with my other jobs, my schedule requires a bit more flexibility lately. So i just wanted to take a moment to say thank you in advance for my wonderful clients who provide that grace and kindness to me as I try to navigate life with all this!
The best is yet to come and there is mountains more for me to do! Thank you all!

Starting this year off the right way! Here is everything you need to know about this year.
My schedule is pretty dang full at this point. Good help is hard to come by. With that being said, please keep in mind that I cannot always reschedule for the same week. Sometimes my next availability wont be for several weeks. If I have not sent you an appointment schedule please let me know so I can send that over! I think Ive gotten everyone on one so if I missed you, text me! I’ve also got everyone in the system for reminder texts! Let me know if you aren’t receiving those
Along with that, if you need to cancel for whatever reason, I need to know at minimum 24 hours in advance. This helps so much with my daily planning. If you dont let me know and do not show up for your appointment, you will be charged a no show fee.
🔔No Show Fees- I had a extremely large amount of no shows last year. Not only does this mess with the schedule, it also direct effects my bottom line, as someone else could have paid for it.
So effective immediately I will be charging no show fees. 50% of the groom cost will be owed for that slot. I understand things happen that cannot be helped but communication is key!
🔔48 Hour Policy- I have this policy in place on ALL of my services, if there is anything you want changed, or something I missed, please let me know if 48 hours so I can fix it. This is at no extra charge, because I want you to be fully satisfied with my services.
You may not know but I do have another job. I love it just as much as my grooming but occasionally it does take me away from home. I will always do my best to keep everyones appointments but sometimes I will need to adjust for those days. I will give you plenty of notice for those days.
🔔Prices- I am having to raise prices. I have had conversations with most of you about this. Unfortunately that is the reality we are living in at the moment. If there are issues, please discuss it with me and we can work something out!
🔔Nail trims- I no longer do solo nail trims however for my clients on a schedule, I always offer free nail trims in between appointments! So feel free to take advantage of that!
🔔Dog Boarding- I do not board for the public anymore but for my groom clients I always do. It helps keep our relationship strong and positive! Most dogs get way more comfortable after a weekend with me.

Good Morning Everyone!
I was toying with an idea and I would like some feedback.
I was thinking of offering a prepayment option for my clients. Since so many people have such hectic schedules or kids of driving age picking up or dropping off, I was thinking it may streamline the process a bit more as well as I can offer a discount to those who prepay.
Id definitely have to work out some kinks but if its something yall would prefer, let me know!

Just a friendly reminder my hours are 8-5 every day.
I understand with peoples schedules you may need later pick up or drop off.
That is why I installed the door lock with the code. Just confirm with me, and I can always leave the code for anyone needing to get to work.
I have my own personal commitments in the mornings and cannot be in the shop until 7:45 at the earliest.

Happy Wednesday! I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for your business! It’s been a heck of a year and I so appreciate each and every one of you!
I also wanted to put a note out here so everyone can start making plans.
As many of you know I have a few other jobs as well. In December I will be gone for two weeks for one of those other jobs.
My assistant Rayna will be doing baths and mini grooms. She can also do a few regular grooms a day as well for those who are comfortable with it. I trust Rayna 100% and her quality of work is fantastic or I wouldn’t be able to leave.
For those of you who specifically want me to groom their dogs, we will need to put you either before or after that trip.

It’s getting to be spring and that means all the animals are “Twitterpated” 😝.
If your pup happens to get skunked here what to do!! Unfortunately we do not do skunked baths as it’s hard to get the smell out of the shop and our nice neighbors prolly wouldn’t appreciate the smell, but here is what you can do at home to help!

To all my clients,
The end of the year is quickly approaching, faster than I can even keep up!
I have a few announcements and changes for the new year.
First off, I will only be taking clients who stay on an 8 week schedule or less. This has been a rule for a while but I just want to remind everyone.
I can only keep dogs on 2, 4, 6, or 8 week schedules. Odd schedules can make it very difficult to organize.
I will be adjusting prices on Jan 1. Not increasing but adjusting as the market continues to change.
I have installed some additional security to the shop.
I will be requiring 48 business hours to cancel appointments. It’s very difficult to fill a slot the day before when someone cancels.
If you cancel with less than 48 working hours notice, you will be charged 50% if the service fee.
I’m will be switching to a new brand of shampoo if higher quality. I’ve researched this a lot for the last year and feel very confident about this switch.
Also a reminder that outside of business hours I do not carry my work cell. So from Thursday at 5pm-Monday at 8am I will not be responding to messages or calls. This is my personal time for my family and me. Thank you for understanding and respecting this.
I’m really excited to get into 2023! HDG will be 5! How crazy is that?!

Hello! I hope everyone is having a great start to a new school year!
As I’m sure on are all aware, inflation has been brutal. I have cut costs where I can but unfortunately I do have to raise prices to cover the costs of shampoo and products. Shampoo alone has gone up $10 a gallon in six months.
Thank you all for being understanding and supporting my local business. Hopefully we are on the downhill!

Let me tell you about Bean. When Mom first dropped off Bean, he tried to bite me. He was displaying typical fear aggression. So throughout my entire day, every time I walked passed Bean, I would either stop and give him a little love or a treat. It takes some dogs longer than others but by the end of the day he wasn't running to the back of the cage anymore or trying to bite me. This is a small victory but good things take time ❤️❤️❤️ you're welcome back anytime mister

My Story
For as long as I can remember I have loved dogs. Growing up, my favorite movies included Homeward Bound, Lassie, and 101 Dalmatians. I had 101 Dalmatians toys and stuffed animals. They lined my room, seriously, ask my mom. I was nothing short of obsessed.
Fast forward to 2015. I was blessed with a rescue dog going into my sophomore year of college. Indy is a beautiful labradoodle who loves napping and ear rubs. Pretty quickly I realized she needed a lot more grooming than I knew how to do. I also needed to make money to pay for classes. So after some talks with my family, I enrolled in the American School of Dog Grooming and that is where this amazing adventure began.
These last two years I have been blessed to work with some incredible groomers that I have learned so much from. I am eternally grateful for what they have taught me and I will always cherish those memories with them.
Yet life waits for no one and I had the opportunity to open my own shop. God opened the door and said let’s go and somehow everything fell into place faster than I ever imagined. It has been a complete new adventure and I am over the moon! I have been so blessed with the overwhelming support from everyone! Thank you all!
So let me tell you a bit about my grooming philosophy. Grooming is necessary for some breeds but it is great to do for all breeds! A clean dog is a healthy dog! I believe that grooming can be a wonderful way to keep your dog looking and feeling good. A lot of times grooming can help discover issues before they get too carried away such as hotspots, fleas, sores or cuts. I also believe that the comfort and well being of the dog should always come first. Would I love every dog to have a perfect fluffy cut when they walk out my door? Of course I would, but life happens and sometimes dog grooming can be forgotten. Sometimes I get dogs with matting so severe that attempting to brush them out would cause the dogs immense pain. While I do everything I can to make sure the dog looks as fabulous as you imagine, I will not intentionally cause a dog discomfort or pain. Humanity before Vanity is my motto.
I also have a passion for rescues. I try to work with local rescues and shelters to get their dogs cleaned up so they have a better chance of being adopted! This kind of work makes me crazy happy and fills my heart. Especially when they get to feel so good! It's a small effort but sometimes makes the biggest difference.
Life happens and I understand that. I always try to work with customers in every way that I can. I offer pick up and drop offs. I also offer boarding in my own home. Most dogs prefer this to being in a kennel. Being around dogs brings me joy! I love my job! Life is too short to do something you don't absolutely love.
