Hello everyone! Meet Sage, formerly known as Arturo, and Tokyo when he was a wee puppy!

Unfortunately, Sage was returned to us with multiple bite histories 😢 Sage is confused and his previous owner had done their best in navigating his training but it wasn’t successful. We are now back to the drawing board of restarting his journey of finding his forever home.

With this, we wish to reinforce that we never give up on the our adopted dogs and to also emphasise that circumstances are very unique to every rehome. In this case, it’s unfortunately a misfit. But let’s forget the past and move on. We will not be mulling over the “what ifs” but more of what we can do now.

He has since settled down in the shelter and also started on medications and special diet for his medical conditions:
IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) and generalised anxiety.

IBD:
Sage experienced loose stools and gradual weight loss since May this year. He was severely underweight. He was subsequently diagnosed with IBD and dangerously low levels of Vitamin B12. He has since been started on medicines, supplements, and a special diet.

Generalised Anxiety:
Sage comes from a litter of puppies that suffer from genetic anxiety 🥲 They are highly anxious with a few of them displaying reactivity and aggression 😢 Few of his litter mates are taking mood suppressants and have benefited therapeutically. We’ve noticed improvements in their temperament and learning capacity which is encouraging and potentially weaning it off long term.

HELP SAGE
We are trying our best to treat him medically first before looking out for a foster home 🥲. In the interim, we’re still learning his triggers and his personality.

If anyone wishes to sponsor Sage kennel fees of $330 per month. Or portion of it?

We are seeking your support to help us defray Sage’s latest medical bills as well as your kind donations to help with his supplements and special diet.

You may paynow to LTV 9179 3423, kindly DM us once you’ve done so for tracking purposes.

Thank you everyone ❤️

(APPEAL CLOSED) FOR ADOPTION (NOT HDB APPROVED)

Meet Rio, a 2-year-old male Border Collie who was surrendered after a bite incident when his owner tried to retrieve a mango seed from his mouth. After evaluation, we believe the bite was more about the mango seed than food aggression, as Rio does not exhibit typical signs of resource guarding.

Rio is a friendly dog who gets along well with both humans and other dogs, from what we observed so far.

As a Border Collie, he is energetic, intelligent, and requires plenty of physical and mental stimulation. He thrives in environments where he can be active, such as agility training, and is quick to learn new tasks. Rio is best suited for an active family or individual, especially those with experience or interest in working with intelligent breeds.

He has minor luxating patella, and no other known health issue so far.

The adopter will be responsible for his sterilization, blood work, and any potential dental treatment if needed.

Will you give the gift of life from just $18? Visit https://www.causesforanimals.com/vaccination-drive-2024.html

This Vaccine Drive is in aid of 15 shelters and stray feeders island wide. We hope to vaccinate 1000 animals with your help!

Singapore is land-scarce. Shelters for dogs and cats are usually full to the brim. These street animals are taken in as quickly as volunteers get them adopted out, resulting in the existing residents of each shelter living in very close quarters.

Out in the streets, street dogs and cats fend for themselves out in the open, away from anything remotely anti-bacterial, in constant contact with germs and viruses. There are no immediate, cost-friendly solutions to keep them healthy except to vaccinate them.

Vaccination is a $18-a-pop solution that keeps each vaccinated dog and cat healthy for the next 365 days. During that time, they are kept immunized against infectious, deadly diseases like distemper and parvovirus. The $18 cost also includes dewormer for each rescue, ensuring none die eaten out from the inside by hookworms.

Our Vaccine Drive has expanded this year to help smaller rescue animals like cats and rabbits. We are also happy to lend support to the dogs on our offshore islands as well. We hope to keep these animals on our streets, in foster homes and shelters happy and healthy too!

Please help us help animals in need!

Love The Voiceless x Companion Animal Rescue Effort Society (Cares)

Fundraiser for Relocating Dogs from Malaysia to Singapore!

While we remain dedicated to supporting local shelters here in Singapore, the situation in JB has prompted us to extend our help.

Here's why:

Stray Population: JB has a larger stray population compared to Singapore, and our successful TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program in SG has significantly reduced the number of strays here.

Medical Needs: Many dogs in JB require extensive medical care and attention. While we can't cross the border frequently, we’re actively supporting efforts through fundraising, like the previous rabies and medical funds.

How Your Contributions Help:
The funds we raise are specifically for the relocation process, including:
- Vet checks
- Quarantine
- Vaccinations
- Sterilizations

Our Commitment:

We focus on relocating dogs that are not only healthy but also have the right temperament for the journey. This ensures:

- They have a definite foster home waiting for them, thanks to Project Adore training.

- They are not left in a shelter but are set up for a successful transition to their new home.

We believe every dog deserves a chance at a better life, and with your support, we can make this happen. Thank you for your continued support and generosity! 🙏❤️

Hello! It’s Scooby again!

After thorough deliberation, we have decided to take Scooby for a necessary dental scaling to prevent his teeth from deteriorating and to avoid the risk of periodontal disease. Swipe to see before and after!

Additionally, we had his ears checked, as he has been struggling with a long-standing history of ear infections caused by stubborn yeast and bacteria that are resistant to most antibiotic solutions. We had to customize a special ear solution called K9Biotix to help eliminate the bacteria and yeast.

We also took the opportunity to clip his nails, and it coincided with his yearly vaccination! Our vet is pleased with Scooby’s condition, despite his multiple health issues, including liver and kidney disease, as well as grade B2 myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD). We truly appreciate your support, which enables us to provide the necessary medical care for him!

If you want to help Scooby flash those pearly whites and hear all the juicy gossip, feel free to PayNow to LTV 9179 3423. He’ll be wagging his tail in gratitude! 🐾✨

Our bills:
Invoice 595592 (27-06-2024) $214.18 [Outstanding from June]
Invoice 604305 (29-08-2024) $872.79

Special thanks to Pets Avenue Veterinary Clinic upperthomson team for giving Scooby the best care. Always giving us good advice and support. 💕

To all our dearest dog-loving enthusiasts, followers and community,

How do you fulfil the hopes and dreams of each shelter dog? How do you look them in the eye when they are left behind and console them that the RIGHT one will come along?

And because of the above, LTV does what it does. ❤️

At LTV, our modus operandi has always been to give every dog a chance at finding a forever home. This year, we are excited to announce our new project: CROSS-BORDER ADOPTION, in partnership with CaresJB (our partner shelter in Malaysia, Johor Bahru) 🌟

🏡 Our Goal: Our aim may sound simple, yet it is profound - to help more dogs find a forever home. Every wag of a tail, every sloppy kiss, and every soulful gaze is a reminder that all dogs deserve a chance at receiving a lifetime of happiness and love.

🐶 Why Partake in This Initiative: Through our collaboration with CaresJB, we can extend our paws of support to our furry friends across the border. Due to the low adoption rates in Malaysia, many dogs live in the shelter for a long long time. Many of them are in need of loving homes. Some of them were taken in as injured strays (abused or hit and run cases) while others were abandoned by their previous owners. By promoting them here in Singapore, we hope to increase their chances of finding their forever family here!

🤝 How You Can Help: Spread the word! Share this post, tag your friends, and let's create rippling waves of compassion and hope. Let us be the beacon of light for these dogs! Whether you can offer a forever home, volunteer your time, donate to the cause or simply lend your voice to advocate for our furry souls, every act of kindness counts.

🌈 Together, Let’s Change Lives: Join us in this heartwarming journey of faith, hope, love and second chances. Together, let's make a difference, one paw at a time.

💌 Reach Out To Us: If you have any questions, please feel free to drop us a message. Your act of kindness goes a long way in allowing us to help these dogs, every small act counts.

📣 Stay Tuned: Do keep a lookout on our page for updates on this exciting initiative and how you can get involved. Help us make more dreams come true for shelter dogs!

Let's spread love, one bark at a time. 🐾💕

Last month, Scooby was diagnosed with Stage B2 myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD) through an echocardiogram. The vet explained that his mitral valve is thickened, which is causing turbulent blood flow in the heart and resulting in the murmur. Being classified as Stage B2 indicates that there is some enlargement of the heart. As a result, Scooby will need to be placed on a lifelong heart medication called Pimobendan.

This diagnosis was prompted by the observation that his heart murmur was becoming louder. We want to remind all dog owners to closely monitor their pets if a heart murmur is detected, as early intervention can be crucial for their health.

Despite his health challenges, Scooby continues to lead a normal and fulfilling life. He is on a regimen of liver, kidney, heart, and joint supplements, as well as heart medication. Like Buddy, both dogs refuse to be defined by their illnesses and instead focus on enjoying life to the fullest. We encourage everyone to adopt this positive mindset!

However, it's important to note that our running costs will increase. We need to take Scooby in for regular ear checks due to persistent yeast and fungal infections as well. Proactive management is essential, as neglecting this issue could lead to complications such as hematomas.

So do look out for our treats fundraising from .pockettt (IG) or donate monetary via LTV PAYNOW 9179 3423.

We also appreciate donation in kind such as supplements, renal diets, etc. You may refer to below if you are keen to supply:

- FeraPets Liver Support
- FeraPets Cardiac Support
- Rosehip
- Furment Renacor
- Furment Complete(Can order via SGBarkery under LTV for discounts)

- Royal Canin Renal Kibbles / Wet Food

Help Bosco!!!
(Posting on behalf of a fellow dog shelter volunteer)

Please help Bosco & his family!

Bosco's previous owners loved him dearly. However, both owners started to have serious health issues as they aged. They could no longer care for themselves. 1 of them had to moved permanently to a nursing home while the other had mobility issues which resulted in frequent falls.

Seeing that Bosco was about to lose his home, the owners' daughter and her husband took Bosco in to care for him.

All was well UNTIL Monday. When the daughter returned home from work, she noted that Bosco was lethargic and refused any food / treats. She checked his gums and realised that they were pale. She immediately rushed him to the regular vet and he was found to be anemic with high renal (kidney) markers.

The vet suggested to transfer Bosco to a 24 hours vet and to start blood transfusion asap.

Bosco was transferred to Animal Wellness at Bukit Timah. He underwent one round of blood transfusion when a kind donor stepped forward to donate blood. Bosco was placed in the oxygen chamber in the ICU for close monitoring and treatment.

He was slightly better after the blood transfusion and managed to eat a bit.

Further investigations i.e. detailed blood tests and ultrasound will be required as per the vet's recommendation. They are still not able to diagnose the cause of the anemia and high kidney markers 😢

Bosco has been discharged home to monitor at home.

The owner's daughter is a fellow friend of LTV and was previously a volunteer at a dog shelter.

She is appealing for help to defray the vet cost 🥲 She needs help with the vet bills as her finances are very tight. She has to financially support both her ill parents and her 1 year old child. Her husband also has a sickly mother who suffers from kidney failure and goes for dialysis few times weekly.

Invoices / receipts of the vet bill are being attached to this post. Payment was made by the owner's daughter and her husband. They have borrowed money from their relatives and will be required to return the money.

If you are keen to donate, please paynow to LTV at 97887923. Please send a SS of your paynow transfer to LTV 😁

Thank you for your generous help!
