PE Girths and Merino Wool Half Pads have arrived! ❤️🔥 The rusty-brown is giving us all the feels! 🤩 #premierequine #saddlery #newtackalert
🙌What can a Registered Equine Massage Therapist do for you? 🙌
This sweet mare had a simple accident under saddle that led to direct impact on the radial nerve, creating inflammation, mild soft tissue damage, and triggering spasm of the triceps muscle.
Addressing muscle spasm requires careful application of highly specialized techniques to sedate the spasm, without creating more discomfort, pain, or inflammation within the damaged tissue.
❤️ Many weeks later, thanks to fast action by her owner and team, she has had full healing, no remaining symptoms of any nerve injury, and zero relapse❤️

Piper hates treatment day 😜🤤Thanks Morgan for the video!
Sophie took a break from her lunch hay today to enjoy the release of hypertension and restriction through her hamstrings and hindlimb adductors during her treatment 😴
I first met Sophie as a 13 year old ex-eventer, at the time her owner had recently purchased her, and had just begun schooling first level dressage. Now, at 17, as a result of careful maintenance, slow and steady conditioning and strengthening, and regular bodywork, Sophie and Emma are not only showing 4th level this year, but Sophie is in the best musculoskeletal health since we have met! Proving that age is just a number 😉
Well done Emma and Sophie!

Another note: many assume that we want to perform bodywork in the crossties. Rather, I encourage we always work in the environment that is most comfortable for the individual horse. This could be crossties, in the stall, tied, held, on a lead line outside, as long as the footing is balanced and there is adequate safe space, we can work anywhere!
Sometimes, in order to be thorough, you just have to get behind the horse! Nice day, nice horse, nice company, killer job 😍 #dynamicassessment #bcremt #equinemassage

A fun little clip illustrating the effects of massage and deep tissue release techniques. This fella was experiencing significant discomfort due to lumbar hypertension and trigger points as a result of conformational predisposition and increased conditioning. This is a view looking down over the lower back and loins, of the response of the tissue to moderate palpation. First on the side that had not yet been worked on, and then on the side that had received myofascial release and trigger point therapy. Note the contraction of the muscles and sinking of the back when the tender tissue on the horses left side is palpated, and the lack of response on the horses right side.
A few signs that your horse may be experiencing back pain may include:
- difficulty engaging the hind quarters
- sensitivity to being brushed (twitching of skin, ear pinning, sinking down over back)
- tail swishing
- ear pinning
- elevation of head during transitions
- reluctance to jump, collect, or "round" over the topline
-imbalance in lateral flexion
- "cinchy"
- slow to warm up
- stopping, bucking, bolting or rearing
- short strided in front legs/shoulders
- difficulty standing for farrier when working on hind feet
