We strive to rescue, medically rehabilitate, and re-home unwanted and abandoned Boxers, as well as providing education to pet owners. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into

their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist Boxers in distress without regard to age, condition or ease of placement.

**Adoption Announcement!**

Joelle and Tighe came to NWBR in search of a new family member. Joelle was raised with boxers and knew they wanted another for their family. So, the search was on to find the perfect companion so their two young children, Dash and Ophelia, could experience life with a s***ky and loving fur sibling. We matched this lucky family with Harper! It was basically love at first sight; the kids were beyond excited to meet Harper. Their meet-and-greet went perfectly, and Harper will get to spend her days playing and getting love from two wonderful kids. They’ll go on neighborhood walks and some easy hikes on our wonderful trails. When the family takes a trip in the car, you can rest assured that Harper will most definitely get a seat.

Thank you, Joelle and Tighe, for coming to NWBR and adopting Harper. We can’t wait to hear about your family adventures. Welcome to the NWBR family!

Lastly, thank you, Jessica and Kelly, for fostering this sweet gal and getting her ready for her forever family.

There are lots of NWBR dogs available for adoption, apply today! https://www.nwboxerrescue.org/adoption-form

Hi, I'm Bubbles! If you are reading this, then I know you will want to meet me. I have yet to meet someone I haven't liked, I will show you how much with a big Boxer hug. I love car rides and snuggles, walks are nice too. I have been working very hard in my foster home to learn leash manners and all the things you look for in a well behaved young lady. I do love my foster brother, but sometimes I forget that I don’t have to guard my toys and foster mom from him. I just need gentle reminders and encouragement to know that its ok to share. My foster brother and I have a lot of fun together, we do zoomies in the yard every day and even around the house sometimes. My foster brother knows that I like to be the boss and he lets me, so it would be best if I have any siblings that they are more submissive because I like to be the girl in charge. I am not aggressive or possessive over my food, my foster brother and I eat together, just in separate corners. I know that I would really enjoy a buddy in my new home.

I have grown very fond of my foster family and don’t enjoy it when they leave, but I am patient when left free roaming in the house while they are gone. I have been very respectful, not destructive, and haven't chewed up anything. Crates are scary for me so I would prefer to wait and watch out the window till you get home. At night I would love to sleep in bed with you sharing a pillow, but I do just fine on my dog bed next to you if that’s not your thing. I am looking for an active family that will continue my training, help me feel secure and safe, and allow me to show you all of the Boxer love, hugs, and snuggles you can handle. See, I knew you would want to meet me so click my link!

Let’s give a warm welcome to Remi! This handsome fellow came to NWBR from sunny CA. He settled nicely into his foster home for a bit while he got vetted and learned some basic manners. But now it’s time for this snuggly big boy to find a home of his very own. Remi is a 1-year-old boxer mix. We don’t know what he's mixed with, but he appears to be mixed with German Shepherd. Remi is a big ol bundle of energy that would do well with an active family. Hiking, walking, camping, you name it, Remi is ready to go. Have we mentioned how goofy and sweet this big boy is? If you’re ready to meet your next buddy, consider submitting an application today.

Hi , I'm Elena! Everyone calls me Elli. I have hit the jack pot when it comes to foster homes, I have a very loving foster mom that takes excellent care of me. She is so good about washing my eyes and putting medicine in them. I am a very good patient, I like how it feels and I sit still the whole time, I appreciate the care so that I can feel good. I am a pretty easy going gal, I love to go outside to wander and sniff around, especially smelling the flowers. What I enjoy most is sitting near my fosters so they can pet and scratch me constantly. Being petted is what I believe your love language should be, so I will remind you that you need to keep doing that. I sleep very well in my crate at night, I don't make a sound except for my snoring. I get along well with my foster sister and brother, but I do not like the cats. I can't see very well but I will know they are there and I still want to chase them. If you are looking for an easy going, well behaved, loving, and affectionate gal like me, click my link so I can evaluate your petting skills.

Hi, I’m Max! I am a handsome young boy that is very curious about the world and everyone in it. I am definitely a people watcher and attention getter, I hang out of the car window so my lips can flap in the wind and turn heads. I LOVE children and am very gentle with them, just the sight of kids makes me swoon. I have been really lucky to have some barn dog friends in my foster home that I really enjoy playing with, I look forward every day to greeting them and getting out my zoomies! It would be ideal for me to have a pal in my new home to show me the ropes and play with. Not all things are play for me, I am very sweet and adore cuddling and will snuggle all day long, I will even remind you when it's time for bed. I am still a puppy in some ways so I need to have time to do my research when getting to know new people. I am interested in the cats but I am learning to respect them, they kind of demand it. I am crate trained, but I prefer to just be with my people or have a buddy nearby to keep me company if I’m in there. I am looking for an active loving family that will help me to continue to grow. If you want to meet me, why wouldn’t you of course, click my link so we can set it up.

Another Foster-to-Adopt success! Danielle and Ethan have been looking for a fur sibling for their 6-year-old boxer, Ellian. It was also very important to them that the new pup transitioned smoothly into their home. So, they decided to give our Foster-to-Adopt program a shot and see if it could work. Spoiler alert: It DID! We matched this small family of three with Dusty, making them a family of four! Here’s what Danielle has to say about Dusty: “It was pretty clear after Dusty’s initial meeting with Ellian that he was going to be a good fit. His energy matches Ellian’s, and they quickly became best friends. They play together, nap together, and care for each other. Dusty is trying to adopt some of Ellian’s better habits and has already learned how to sit, shake, and lay down. He has brought even more happiness into our home and has become a member of our family. ”Thank you, Danielle and Ethan, for adopting Dusty and welcoming him into your home. Welcome to the NWBR family—we can’t wait to hear about Ellian and Dusty’s adventures. Thank you, Lacey and Ben, for stepping in last minute to take this handsome fella in for a few days. And thank you, Linda, for fostering him until he was ready to meet his new family!

27/08/2024

In the quiet corners of a world she has yet to truly explore, there lives a gentle soul named Allie. Her story began in the shadows, within the confines of a cold kennel where she was merely a vessel for life. For five long years, Allie knew nothing beyond the metal bars that held her captive, her purpose was reduced to birthing puppies for profit.

But life has a way of surprising even the most downtrodden hearts. When the door to her prison finally swung open, and freedom greeted her, it was the safety of rescue and the warmth of a foster home there waiting. A place where patience and kindness wrap around her like a soft blanket, coaxing her fragile spirit to emerge.

Allie’s journey is marked by small victories. Each day, she tiptoes out of her hiding spot, her eyes wide with curiosity. She watches the other dogs play, their wagging tails a language she yearns to understand. And though her fear of humans lingers, she dares to peek from behind the safety of furniture or doorways, her heart beating in sync with the rhythm of newfound trust.

Her foster family knows that Allie is no ordinary dog. She is a symphony of resilience, a melody composed of scars and whispered dreams. They walk her gently, allowing her to explore the world one cautious step at a time. And oh, how she revels in those walks—the grass beneath her paws, the scent of freedom carried on the breeze.

Allie’s eyes hold secrets—the pain of abandonment, the longing for love. But she is no longer just a kennel dog; she is becoming Allie, the brave survivor. Her tail wags tentatively when treats are offered, and her eyes soften when spoken to in hushed tones. She learns that not all hands bring fear and that some hold warmth and tenderness.

And so, dear reader, imagine the day when Allie finds her forever home. It won’t be swift or easy; she’ll test the waters, retreat, and then inch forward again. But when she finally leans into the embrace of her chosen family, it will be a victory celebrated by the stars themselves. For Allie will teach them about resilience, patience, and the quiet strength that blooms in the most broken of hearts.

So, to the person reading this: If you seek a companion who understands the language of survival, who knows the value of a gentle touch, consider Allie. She’ll sit by your side during thunderstorms, her trembling body finding solace in your presence. She’ll ride shotgun in your car, ears flapping in the wind, and her eyes will hold galaxies of gratitude.

Yes, Allie is slow to trust, but once she does, she’ll be your confidante, your silent supporter. She’ll remind you that love is a journey, not a destination, and that sometimes the most wounded souls shine the brightest.

And when you see her bask in the sun, her fur golden and her heart full, you’ll know: Allie was worth every ounce of effort, every whispered word of encouragement. She’ll be your greatest triumph—a testament to the healing power of love.

Howdy folks, I’m Barkley! My foster dad call me Barkalini, and I love it. Not to toot my own horn, but I am the coolest Boxer in town! I am the epitome of chill, always ready to make new furry friends, and greet everyone with my wagging tail. I absolutely love being outdoors, whether it's a hike in the woods or a lazy day in the park, just don't ask me to deal with sprinklers—those are my sworn enemy! I am a pro on the leash, making walks a breeze and so much fun. My friendly demeanor makes me a hit with other dogs, kids, and people alike. With my laid-back attitude and love for adventure, I would be the perfect companion for any outing.

I currently use a doggy door well when left at home and need to go out, you'll find me doing zoomies at 5 am, 2 pm, and 9 pm with my Boxer sister. I would love to have a buddy in my new home to pal around with and continue my zoomie routine. I am good at joining in on barking adventures with my friends but know when to cut it off. I don’t mind car rides but my preference is the safety and security of the ground. Like most boxers, my floppy lips store food and water and make me a mess sometimes, but I chalk it up to what makes me so handsome and charming. My laid-back attitude, love for adventure, and cuddly nature, make me the perfect companion for any outing and any family. If you are looking for a guy like me, click my link.

Hi, I’m Magnus! I am searching high and low for a forever family that has a strong leader that will show me the ropes. I need to do my research about people and new situations, survey the land so to speak. It would be ideal if I could find a family that will work with me and be consistent so I can be the best dog. I love going on walks and car rides, but sneaking a snuggle session with my people is my most favorite thing. I also really love to play with the other dogs, just one at a time though as multiple dogs at once tend to make me a little nervous. I am hoping for a yard or somewhere that you could watch me do my zoomies, because I am super-fast. Playing tag in the yard with my foster family is always fun, mostly because I’m never it! My peeps just can’t catch me but boy do I get tired after a while. I would also love to have kids in my family but older or dog savvy kids would be best as they don’t tend to leave all the little kid toys all over for me to chew on, but I will drop something when I’m told or leave it if you see me approaching something I shouldn’t. I can’t wait for a meet and greet with you! You will not regret it, that's for sure, I am an all around loving, active, playful guy that would make a great addition to your family.

Loki, Loki, not so slow poky!

I know what your thinking when you read the name Loki. Rest assured, Loki is no villain!

Loki is an easy-going, loving cuddle buddy. The sweetest non-villain you'll ever meet. Loki is laid-back, goes with the flow most of the time although loves to play. Loves to greet you at the door and jumps for joy, then turns around, lays in your lap for some good'ole relaxing TV time.

Loki is taking in a whole new world with his foster family. They are a little more active then the family he came from. A little more chaotic with kids and other dogs but he's adjusting well and learning there's more out in the world than he thought.

While it's all a little overwhelming and some times this can make him nervous, he seeks assurance from his family and doggie pals. He is quick to learn, eager to please and loves to fit in. Patience helps him build confidence to discover new things, going places, trying new activities and such. He truly is a big teddy bear learning how to love life and embrace all that is around.

Hi, I’m Mable! My foster says I could make a fortune if I opened a kissing both. I think I may offer my services to the rescue for a fundraiser. Kissing is my favorite thing to do, it is my love language. Doing zoomies in the back yard is my second favorite activity. When I wear out I have to drink some water and take a nap in my kennel, it is the life, a routine like this that involves napping, you can’t go wrong. I love my people, so when I can see you, even from my crate, I am very happy, I don’t care to be left alone. I am learning to enjoy the car rides, mostly because that way I am with my people. I am getting better all the time and have made great progress jumping in and out. I am very food motivated so it makes learning all the new things very easy like walking on a leash, and it is helping put on some healthy weight. My foster parents have me confused with a cat and have taught me to do my business in the gravel part of the back yard, it works though, I have nice grass to play in with their 4-year-old grandson. I am very gentle with everyone especially with kids and my toys, I really enjoy kids, but may need a little more sniff time with the new adults I meet. A quick sniff of your hand will help me trust you. I am a very happy and friendly gal, my little tail wiggles all the time and my face will light up any room. I am not sure about other dogs, so I need more time to get used to being around them, slow and calm setting introductions may help me make friends with others. I am looking for a family that will continue my training, let me love them and of course kiss them, and show them all of the wonderful Boxer qualities that I have. If you would like to meet me and see what all this kissing is about, click my link.

Hi, I’m Cora! I am an older, and very wise Frenchie with a beautiful white coat. I need some time and patience when I meet people for the first time, but once I get to know you, I will adore you. Spending time with my familiar folks is my greatest passion. I enjoy following them around the house, and snuggling on the couch. I am dog friendly so I would enjoy having other furry friends in my new home to cuddle with. I am very well behaved in the house with excellent manners and much respect. I am at the point in my life that I need very little other than leisure, attention, delicious snacks, naps, and playing. Don’t let my age fool you, although I enjoy laying in the sun and soaking up the rays, I have plenty of love and s***k to add to your home. I am eager to be your loyal, and loving companion. Hi, I'm Bubba! I'm a very handsome and loving boy, that loves nothing more than being around people. I'm happiest when I can curl up and watch TV with you, or go for a walk, I am really just an agreeable guy that wants to be with you. I have been nice to all of the dogs I have met, and I didn’t chase any of the kitties at the vet’s office, but I mostly I just love being around people. My love for people includes kids, I am very good with my tiny foster human, I am very respectful and have never jumped on her or anyone else. I am crate trained and will go right in, but I really don’t enjoy it, my respectful manners have earned me the trust of my foster family who give me free roam when they are gone. I have not done anything naughty while they are away, I just patiently wait for them to get back. I sleep with my foster dad at night because we both snore A LOT, and since we are gentlemen, we don't want to wake up the ladies. I will not get on furniture even if you aren't looking. I should probably mention that I only have one eye, it's really okay except I sometimes bump into things if I can't see them on my right side. My foster mom tells me that I am so handsome and that no one will be able to resist such a handsome dude like me with such regal character. Also, I know a lot of one eye jokes - the cornea the better. LOL, bet you didn't see that coming! My foster family says I'd make an excellent addition to any family that is willing to spend time with me, work on my training, and building routines.

Hi, I’m Mason! There is absolutely nothing that you won’t love about me! Despite my many scars from recent and old injuries, I am the most handsome and healthy white Boxer boy with stellar character. I have been in rescue with the most amazing foster family and have been doing great. I am a happy fun boy with a gentle soul and a little playful heart. My foster mom says I am a big, soft, and squishy marshmallow, I take that as a compliment. I am sweet, gentle, loving, and patient. I enjoy snuggles, long naps, short walks, and an occasional game of ball or play sessions with humans and fur pals. I am extremely well mannered when left alone, I rest comfortably in my bed, and when playing gently with others dogs big and small. When you leave me home, I may try to enjoy the goodies on your kitchen counter from time to time if they aren’t put away, so I will help you keep your kitchen tidy. There are a lot of new things for me in my foster home, and with all of my unexplained scars, you would think that I would have some fear or hang-ups, but I really don’t, I am just a gentle guy that is mostly curious and looking for my forever home. I am happy to follow you wherever you go, even if it’s just for a wander around the yard, or a drive around. My foster mom says I am the very best boy and that my new family with be the luckiest family to have me. I would love to be your companion, and it would be ideal if there was a fur companion for me too. If you are looking for a calm, genuine, gentle guy like me, click my link to meet me.

Hi, I'm King! Don't all kings have gold? Well, I do, I have Golden Retriever to enhance my good looks. I am very soft, with a long tail, and your typical Boxer face. I love going on walks and am amazing on my leash, I also love to go on car rides and hang my head out the window. Right now, I live with my foster brother and we love to do zoomies in the yard and race, I always try to beat him, so far, I am the reigning champion. A buddy to play with in my new home would be great for me.

I was hungry when I came into rescue from California, so I am learning that from now on I will be getting meals and treats every day and don't have to worry about sharing my food. A slow feeder has really helped me savor every bite. I do well with kids that are respectful after I do my research and I sleep peacefully in my crate whenever needed. My foster family says any family would be lucky to have me.

We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist Boxers in distress without regard to age, condition or ease of placement.
