We strive to rescue, medically rehabilitate, and re-home unwanted and abandoned Boxers, as well as providing education to pet owners. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into

their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist Boxers in distress without regard to age, condition or ease of placement.

Today's Tongue-Out Tuesday is the marvelous Mason!

This 8-years-young boy is the total package. He enjoys snuggles, long naps, short walks, and an occasional game of ball or play sessions with humans and fur pals. Mason is extremely well mannered when left alone, though he will counter-surf if a delicious opportunity presents itself (who wouldn't?) Otherwise, he rests comfortably in his bed, and plays gently with others dogs big and small. He is appy to follow you wherever you go, even if it's just for a wander around the yard, or a drive around. His foster mom says he's the very best boy and that his new family will be the luckiest family to have him. He would love to be your companion, and it would be ideal if there was a fur companion for him, too. If you are looking for a calm, genuine, gentle guy, Mason is the dog for you! As part of our“Senior Sunday" series, we want to share stories about special NWBR pups who are adored as seniors. Some of our stories will include pups that have since crossed the rainbow bridge but will always be remembered. Each story is told by their family who loves them dearly.

Why Foster? Ashley, Rocky former Foster Mama, shares Rocky's success story:

From Rocky's Mom: "Hi Ashley, just wanted to update you on Rocky Bobbie, just Rocky now.

He is such a good boy. Still doing well. We all have a routine with him. He loves his walks with dad at night the best.

He loves us all, but dad is his favorite.
He doesn't like the rain, he wears his rain coat so it's not so bad.

Just wanted to say thank you again.
We lost our little guy about a month ago. Having Rocky makes a big difference."

Thank you for fostering Ashley, and a big thank you for adopting Rocky to Rocky's Mom and Dad!

💚Adoption Announcement!💚

Congratulations to Charles, Erin, and Goose!

From Charles and Erin: "When we had to say goodbye to our last boxer girl, NWBR alum Tinkerbell, we were heartbroken. Our home was quiet for a long time, but when we saw Goose, we knew we had to meet him. We fell in love with this sweet guy right away. Every morning, he wakes up ready to wiggle and play, loves looking out the windows to keep an eye on the neighborhood, and enjoys a long afternoon snooze. He quickly mastered the doggie door, and after a few days (and a lot of cheese), he realized the basement stairs weren’t so scary after all. He’s a goofy guy who makes us laugh every day. At four years old, he’s the youngest boxer we’ve ever had, but he’s a pretty mellow dude who is settling right in, and we’re so happy he’s here!"

Another happily ever after!

Happy Foster Friday! 🎉

Northwest Boxer Rescue is always in need of fosters homes. We do not have a kennel facility to house boxers who come into the rescue, it’s all up to our life-saving foster families. 🩷Adoption Day is Here!🩷

Sweet Sassy has her big day!

Roger and Sheri have been patiently waiting and searching for the perfect pup to add to their family after the sudden passing of their beloved Emma. They met a few pups, but none quite felt right—until we found Sassy! Sassy is a very sweet, quiet girl who gets along well with smaller dogs and loves being affectionate with her people. With her Halloween birthday just around the corner, we wanted to make sure she was with her forever family in time to celebrate.

The date and location were set for a brisk Saturday morning, and the rest is history! It was love at first sight for Roger and Sheri. Sassy instantly warmed their hearts and brought back memories of Emma, with a familiar charm they recognized right away. Sassy now has an older fur brother, an 11-year-old Brussels Griffon named Benny. These two will get to spend their days doing whatever their hearts desire—going on daily walks, taking car rides, and playing with as many toys as they can handle.

Thank you, Roger and Sheri, for your continued support and trust in NWBR to help pair you with the perfect pup. Happy Adoption Day, Sassy!

And a big thank you to Katie for fostering and loving Sassy until she was ready for her forever home. None of this would have been possible without you!

Dear Friends of NWBR,

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news we all feared but hoped against hope would not come. Our beloved Xavi has crossed the rainbow bridge. Despite our best efforts and the outpouring of love, thoughts, prayers, and donations from each of you, his little body could no longer hold on. When found, Xavi was in dire condition, but he fought bravely and felt the warmth and love from everyone who supported him.

Xavi's final days were filled with the love and compassion he deserved. He passed away surrounded by care and affection, not alone on the streets. We are profoundly grateful to every single person who helped him. You gave him a chance to feel love and dignity, and for that, NWBR is forever thankful.

Xavi's story embodies our mission: that every Boxer deserves a chance. We will never turn our backs on dogs like Xavi. Your unwavering support and love are what make our work possible. We will continue to honor Xavi's legacy by saying yes to senior boxers in need and by remaining humbled and grateful for the compassion of our NWBR family of volunteers and supporters.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

With deepest gratitude, NWBR

Today's Tongue-Out Tuesday is Remi, a handsome, 1 year old Boxer/Shepherd mix fostered in Beaverton, OR. Remi is a big loving, and curious boy with lots of fun puppy energy! He thrives on daily walks and absolutely loves playing in the water. His playful nature and adventurous spirit make him a joy to be around.

Like any young, energetic pup Remi needs exercise, stimulation, and a spacious, fenced yard to explore. He's housebroken, uses a doggy door, and is crate trained, though he prefers to roam free indoors and is a good boy. Providing him with plenty of chew toys is essential, as he loves to chew!

Remi is well-behaved and already has basic obedience training. He gets along well with men, women, children, and other dogs. Remi is a bit fearful of new people due to his lack of socialization, but he warms up quickly.

This boy is the total package. Don't miss out, apply to adopt him today! https://www.nwboxerrescue.org/adopt-a-dog
