Your donation allows us to help cats like Lola. After being relocated from an unsafe area to a new outdoor home, Lola injured her leg and needed a total leg amputation. After surgery, Lola rolled around quite a bit. Once she figured out how to stand up, she acted as if nothing had happened! Lola’s foster says “Lola is as sweet as can be. She is observant, smart, quickly adapts, and just wants to be close and loved. She returns the love, purring nonstop and rolling around, and reaching out to make contact.” Lola’s surgery and specialized care cost several thousand dollars and she still
needs additional medical attention before she’s ready for adoption. Help Lola continue to heal and give second chances to more cats like her by making a donation today and it will go twice as far, thanks to this special Giving Tuesday

🎀 Gisselle update 🎀 Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to our fundraiser for Gisselle’s surgery! She is now 6 days out from and she’s doing well. She doesn’t love the physical therapy but she does love getting a massage 💆‍♀️ She’s been able to use the litterbox normally and is taking her meds without any issues 🙌 Gisselle is already revealing more of her personality as she heals and it’s really fun to see. 🎉 Congrats to Biggie on his recent adoption! He will be living his best life with…Butterscotch! These guys are both from a big TNR project in West Oakland. Biggie had a bit of a setback when he contracted Mycoplasma from a flea bite. His wonderful foster family was committed to his care—lots of meds at all hours of the day and night for quite some time, and many follow up vet appointments. Once he was available for adoption it didn’t take long for him to find his forever family ❤️ ❤️

🚨 LOST KITTEN near LINCOLN AVE & WILLOW ST, ALAMEDA 9/12/2024🚨 Her name is Beef and she’s about 6 months old. She has gray and white fur with a fluffy gray tail and yellow/green eyes. She’s very sweet and friendly. 👉 Indoor kitties usually don’t travel more than about 6 houses away in any direction👈 Beef is probably hiding out— please check the bushes, under cars, crawl spaces, garages, and other quiet hiding spots. If you feed outdoor cats, she may show up for a meal. Please report any sightings to the number on the flyer.

🧐 When things don’t quite go as planned…A volunteer scooped up this ear-tipped guy thinking that he had a bad URI and maybe some serious dental issues. He was very wheezy and was drooling a lot. Upon closer inspection, it looks like the tip of his nose is missing 😿 We’re not sure if the drooling is related to dental stuff or if he was just really nervous. He’s got a quiet, cozy set up while we assess his temperament and figure out next steps. He’s not fractious in the trap and he’s been eating—all good signs. When we know we will have a cat for a few days, we set them up with a recovery cube attached to the humane trap. This gives them a little more room and keeps everyone safe 🧡🧡

We received a flurry of phone calls, texts, and emails on Sunday afternoon. A Good Samaritan had scooped up this injured feral kitty in Alameda and he ended up at OakVet. He was in severe respiratory distress, basically in a coma. Because he had a microchip they were able to contact us. Thanks to excellent record keeping we were able to identify him. We made the decision to humanely euthanize this kitty 💔
He was at least 8 years old and surely had some folks looking out for him through the years. They are probably wondering why he hasn’t shown up for breakfast 😢
Thank you to those folks, the Good Samaritan, and to for being there for this guy.
