I have been involved in animal rescue and advocacy for over 12 years. We currently are home to two dogs, 7 cats and 10 chickens. The cats are all ferals that needed to be relocated. Our barn is the perfect place for them to hang their hats. Over the years I have spent in rescue, I have met countless people whose dogs have made such a difference in their lives. That is why it is important that Joet
heBoxer gives back to the rescue community that helps animals find their forever homes. We donate locally to animal rescues that work tirelessly to save dogs and cats. Yes, JoetheBoxer does really exist. He was a foster dog that came to me almost 5 years ago. He was around 5 months old and had been turned in to the local shelter for euthanasia. The previous owners felt he was too sick to save. The shelter fortunately recognized the condition and asked if I would foster him. At the time we had 4 Bichons! Our family immediately fell in love with JoetheBoxer. Unfortunately, as the months passed, it became apparent that JoetheBoxer suffered from several medical conditions along with behavioral issues. He was not suitable to be adopted out so what could we do but keep him!! He has been the most challenging dog we have ever owned but also the most loving. In working with JoetheBoxer, I have learned more about animal behavior and training than I could have imagined. For that, I am grateful. Two years ago he was diagnosed with stage three mast cell cancer. He underwent chemotherapy and is currently cancer free. We are thankful for each day with our boy.
