Crocheted the adorable Wooble “Oishi” this evening and turned it into an ornament for my sushi-obsessed kiddo 🤗 She’s gonna love this cutie!

I’m a seasoned crocheter (uhhh, I guess that’s not actually a word?!) and I love making toys, so I was pretty stoked to finally give an kit a try and here’s what I think…

👉 If you’re totally new to crochet, these kits are an amazing place to start as they contain nearly everything you’ll need! You’ll also need scissors and you may like to use a row counter.
👉 If you’re a visual and hands-on learner, these kit’s online instructions are incredible easy to follow, clear, and broken down with such ease that they make creating your wooble effortless!
👉 I learned a helpful tip myself about joining pieces… even though I’ve been crocheting for over 30 years (yep, it’s true).
👉 This was fun!

Enjoying a bit of quiet time in my studio this evening drawing up some fun creatures… including my favorite of the beast in this whole world. Wolfies 💖

This little beastie is my reminder tonight to simply trust myself when making art. It is easy for me to be judgmental of my own work and fret over details that really aren’t important. There are many small things I could rip apart (in my mind’s eye) in this simple drawing. However, I’m going to make a conscious effort now and moving forward to be kind to myself as I would others and accept the actual beauty of my marks. I love the work I make and I want to be nicer to it (and in turn myself!).

If you’re still reading, there must be a reason - my hope is you treat yourself with kindness today and everyday. Being unkind and picking apart the little things isn’t worth it.
