Imagine my surprise when I saw this beautiful coral snake resting on the edge of my bath early one morning. When I looked up, I saw that she had just shed her skin. Here it is, hanging from the ceiling.
I'm so glad we don't have to change our skin every time we grow!
She left a few hours later, probably in search of a juicy mouse or frog, which she would swallow whole. Real whole food! What an amazing digestive system to be able to deal with that. She will gain all the nutrients she needs by eating a whole prey animal.

Eating the whole fresh carcass, including the guts would be the very best! They thrive on this. Aged 5 months and 1 week, I was worried our puppy would need orthodontic work to encourage his erupting lower canine to follow a path into the space between his upper lateral incisor and upper canine. And to move the upper canine backwards once the temporary canine had gone to make space for the erupting lower canine.

But hey presto! Nature is amazing. Just 2 weeks of rough play between the two pups and all is well!.....see the next post for the photo.
