Delicious nutritious raw chia biscuits for cats and dogs.....and people! I love them.
How to make them.
Soak 4 handfuls of raw almonds in water for at least 12 hours. Rinse well, removing the enzyme inhibitors.
Blend with clean, chemical free water to make about 3 litres nut milk.
In a bowl, stir in 2 desert spoonsful of PET Plus and 2 desert spoonsful of nutritional yeast. If you do this in the blender, it tastes really better and horrible!
Stir in 750g chia seeds which absorb liquid and thicken the mixture.
Put half teaspoonful of this mixture in rows on dehydrator sheets.
Dehydrate at 42 degrees centigrade for 2 days until dry and crispy. Transfer onto the mesh and dehydrate for another day to dry them thoroughly.
Store in an airtight container. I keep them in the freezer too, but that's because I live in a hot, humid climate.
I give my cat, Ziggy, 5 for breakfast and 5 for tea. And I eat some too!
He also enjoys Cucumber, Avocado, papaya, mango, Sweetcorn and raw egg yolk.
