Monte the Mutt Montante

I thought tagging Monte in the post would make it show up here but apparently not.

Monte the Mutt headed to the rainbow bridge on Friday, June 2, 2023. She left this world on her own terms, passing away behind a shrub in our backyard. This wasn't unexpected, she'd been dropping weight, not eating, and having health and mobility problems. The irony is, she seemed like she was doing better, and seemed to have some gusto before heading outside.

She was cremated and today I picked up her remains where they sit in a lovely wooden box with her picture on it.

Monte will be terribly missed. I see her shadow everywhere I look. I am still in a kind of routine mode when I'm in the house.

Monte was my companion for 13 wonderful years. I couldn't have asked for a better one.

Yesterday I started on estrogen to try to strengthen my bladder.

It'll be nice to not p*e every time I lay down.

I also had a spa day.

Well, I've been on antibiotics since my last post. First round was broad spectrum but didn't kill the bacterial infection. So several urine samples later it was determined to be e-Coli. I'm near the end of this latest course of antibiotics.

However, I'm suffering from urinary incontinence (means I can't control my p*e). This started right before this latest round of antibiotics. The vet says it should go away when the infection is gone. I sure hope so because I smell like p*e.

Dad is taking me to the groomer on Friday to get cleaned up.

Well, I'm not feeling so great. I've got a bladder infection and on top of that managed to hurt my leg so bad I can't stand up without help.

The human is doing his part, giving me cheese and peanutbutter to make me feel better. I wonder if he's hiding anti biotics and aspirin in there. Tastes like liver.

Mostly I'm just laying around. He carried me outside so I could p*e and lay on the sun. Then he carried me back in the house so I could...lay around.

Not really hungry or thirsty. But there's water nearby if I get thirsty.

Hopefully I'll be feeling better tomorrow.
